Those bottom dentures are little dickens. Most folks have problems with them. Because of the shape of the plate, the grip is not as secure as the top one is. At 5 weeks, you are still a newbie. Make sure you use those dental visits to have your lowers adjusted fit as well as they can for your mouth. Adhesive use is an individual preference. I use the tubes. After my hardliner was done, both dentures do fit better, however, I do have to remove, clean, put adhesive on and re-insert my bottoms in the afternoon if I plan on eating later in the day.  Have you considered inplants?

Good luck to you, Melissa.

I was never able to eat with my bottoms and they would flop around when I talked or sneezed no matter how much I had them relined. It is a common problem. I ended up getting a hybrid denture that is put in with screws. Only a dentist can remove it.  However, it was very expensive. It feels like my own teeth.
