I've had both upper and lower dentures for 11 months and suffer with chronic chapped lips.  Anyone else had this problem?  Any solutions????

Sorry, I have not had that happen. I use chapstick when I think its going to be an issue, but have not had any problems. I have had my dentures for 2 months and 12 days with no chapped lips.

Yes, Yes, Yes.  My lips are constantly chapped.  I have found that putting vaseline on them at night when nobody can see me really works.  I sleep with it on my lips and my upper between my nose and lips, (don't know what to call that).  Then by morning it is well and then all day long I use chapstick and blistex and lip gloss.  Just moisture over and over and over.  I'm thnking for me it is the adhesive that causes it.

Do you notice yourself licking your lips when your teeth are in? I notice myself doing that. I was looking on to see if there is anything about dentures causing chapped lips.

I use Burts Bees original. It's the only thing that works for me.

I keep a tube of chapstix with me and apply on my lips when I feel I need it.

Diana I am so glad to see this post because I've had my upper denture for at least 2 weeks now and I've noticed that my lips get really really chapped now more than often so I didn't want to post anything asking cuz I thought it was a silly question and now that I see your post I feel little

I am constantly using Blistex or chap stick. I think it is the adhesive causing our lips to dry out. But it could be I lick my lips all the time when I am wearing my dentures. I don't know why, I never did it before I got dentures.

I have a huge chapped lip problem too. In my case I think it was partially the saltwater rinses I was doing and winter weather. I stopped the saltwater rinses yesterday and have already noticed a difference.

You may want to contact your dentist. Chapped lips may have something to do with the fit of your dentures. Let us know how you make out, please. Thanks!

And also if you're not hydrating yourself enough you will get the champ lives. I haven't had this issue and I had my abstractions all of the top teeth and all of the bottom teeth 9 days ago today. I have so many questions I don't know where to start
