Hi Ginger! Since you are in day 3 post extraction, things should be feeling better and healing will be in progress. As time passes your gums and extraction sites will be healing, covering over, and shrinking. You will probably have some trouble with speech and eating at first until you get used to not having those teeth. Patience is key with the entire process.

I had an immediate denture put it immediately after 16 extractions which is slightly different, but the process of healing is the same. I was told by my dentist that full healing is done around 6 months after extractions, so when are you planning to get your permanent denture or implants? They will have to take a mold/impression at that time to make the denture.

thank you for all the great information! so on the 12th I get my stitches out, which ive noticed they are bothersome but more irritating then anything. that's when he will tell me when we will do my mold. Im nervous about picking the color, I had horrible teeth and broken teeth in the fron and in my mind I don't want to get the whitest ones and someone say something because they notice the diference, how should I come to a decision?

Good question. The person who took my mold brought in some plastic teeth in all shades and tried to match the color with my existing teeth. It worked beautifully. If you have any pictures of your teeth before they went bad you can have them reference that as well. It’s a tricky business to not end up with sparkling white teeth but they should be able to determine what would look most natural. Good luck!

Hi Ginger, Do you still have any teeth left where you can match the color?
If you had them all extracted then it should be fairly easy to pick a color from the chart. I went one higher than suggested and it was a perfect match.
As far as what anyone else thinks? If your teeth were really bad before then people are going to be amazed at the new you and probably won't be noticing the color ( unless you picked black haha) This is all about you! And what will make YOU happy.
Chances are your stitches will come out on their own before you go back. Mine did.
Enjoy the new and improved YOU
