Melanie: The best that I've found is StainAway. I remove my teeth every night and soak them in about a half capful of the powder, and that works better than anything else I've used. It is clearly a bleaching agent, so you do not want to get it on clothes or any other fabric. But it works quite well. Good luck with everything. You have been very patient as you've gone through this process, and I wish you well. Joseph

I think I've got cleaning tablets for whitening for atleast 2 years lol! Thank you for the suggestion I'll end up getting it anyway! But I do have a question do I leave them in the cleaner for 3 minutes then just put them in water or so u put them in a regular cleaner after ?

Melanie: I take the dentures out when I go to bed and leave them in the StainAway until the morning. That is what my dentist advised me to do. The StainAway is not bleach, but it is a bleaching agent as all whiteners are. I do not use any other product to keep them clean, but if I got caught without the StainAway for some reason, I would just store them in water.

I have had a smooth transition from teeth to dentures (full top, partial bottom), and I'm working to save the remaining bottom teeth. I do know getting used to bottom dentures is much more difficult, and that is why I'm not giving up on the bottom teeth.

By the way, I only soak the partial in StainAway for 20 minutes, and then I put it back in or in a cup of water. In six months I will get a permanent reline of the full upper denture, and I expect that to fit better than the temporary one I have now.

By delaying the placement of your dentures for several months, you should experience a much more satisfactory fit right from the start. But I know what a difficult time that must have been. You deserve great credit for your patience and for your unfailingly positive attitude throughout the process.

The success of this site depends on people with insight, compassion and understanding of the challenges presented by dentures, and you have contributed much to the dialogue. Your positive attitude helps everyone on here, even when -  probably especially when - they are having difficulties. You have my gratitude and that of many others. All the best to you. Joseph

So well written Joesph thank you for the advice! I do have permanents right now! My insurance would. Not cover temporary dentures so I had to go without teeth for almost 5 months! It was hard but I got through it! Now my struggle is getting used to a mouth full of teeth after having no teeth for months and before that I had no back teeth because they were all cracked at the gum line and my top from teeth were all cracked in half I literally only had one good tooth in my mouth! And yes this website and the beautiful inspiring people on it have gotten me through some rough days! Being 31 and having no teeth for months worse my self esteem down to nothing, I would get depressed and not leave my house for days on end! But being on this site and hearing inspiring stories of people who went through what I was currently going through and seeing their beautiful smiles and encouraging words for me through now lovely people like you and others are helping me through this stage!❤️

Too Many SMOKERS around here!  LOL
So this happened today...
I thought I would give Fixodent True Feel a try since it was on sale at the Grocery Store yesterday.
I still chew Nicotine gum - Quit smoking in 1996.
Don't laugh!
It held until just about now so say 8-9 hours.
Secure will hold ALL DAY+
Fixodent:  NOPE
Secure Denture Adhesive (Fittydent in Austria):  AWESOME!
You can see how much I used of the Fixodent Original in two years!

Shortly after I got my Dentures I thought I'd soak them in mouthwash. I put them in the small, glass jar, and filled it with green, mint flavored Scope. The next morning when I took the dentures out of the glass jar and rinsed them...............the teeth were green! Can't even describe what color the pink "gum" sections looked like!
Luckily I wasn't going anywhere, wouldn't be seeing anyone except my son (I live with my son) so I just wore them that way. And laughed every time I looked in the mirror.
The green color just sort of naturally faded out.
Now I use Efferdent or maybe the store brand fizz tablets. Sometimes after brushing the things I wipe them with a disposable disinfectant cloth like Lysol then put them in water in a glass jar without rinsing. I rinse again in the morning.

Cleaning Tabs, Dawn Liquid Detergent, H2O, Fresh 'n Brite or Stain-Away are all good options.
Most mouthwashes also contain Alcohol and over time, even if it's NOT GREEN, that would NOT be a good thing for Acrylic Material.  No bleach either!
