Denture Adhesive

I waited a long time before getting dentures. My Dentist made me wait about 5 months for my mouth to heal. Best decision I think. My oral surgeon was great, and my dentist was top notch. He worked hard to give me natural looking dentures (not chicklet teeth). I love them and they fit wonderful. I use the cream, but going to try the powder. Looking back, I should have gotten them sooner. I love my dentures. I've had them about a year.

Lookin Good!     Powder works best for me on my upper. Having a soft liner or using a gap filler, can make the hold pretty tight.

Thank you. My uppers are like my natural teeth. My bottoms have taken some adjusting. I'm going to try the powder cause the goo is gross, and hard to get all out....yuck.

Thanks Melanie, I know I'm bragging...lol I waited so long to do it. I did so much research that I probably could have made them myself! My dentist was so patient with me, and worked hard to give me what I wanted. He was wonderful. So many of them are in such a hurry.

I hear you! I was such a scardy cat about getting them. I'm so glad I did too! Best thing I ever did actually. I heard all the nightmare stories, but denture technology has come a long way. A nice smile is not overrated...lol

I always run my dentures under warm water after taking out. It gets most of the adhesive off. Then I soak them in a denture holder with an overnight cleansing soak tablet. I use Polident overnight soak. Cover your dentures with water, drop in the tablet, and close lid. Next morning rinse them real good and use soft brush. Polident also makes a good 3 minute soak if you need them cleaned right away to use again. Every couple weeks or so, you can use a few drops of bleach in your clean stored water after you've cleaned your dentures. Make sure your dentures are always stored in water if you're not wearing them. Never use abrasive toothpastes on dentures.

I good non abrasive one for your mouth is good. Nothing for your dentures. Some people sleep with their dentures, but it's good to let your gums rest. I always have mine in the overnight clean solution.
