Denture Removal Tool

Does anyone know where I can buy a Denture Removal Tool? I just got a new Immediate Top Denture on Saturday and am having a very difficult time removing and reinserting the denture. The soreness and pain associated with 8 extractions sites makes reinsertion of my denture very difficult. Removing the denture is very hard as well. Any suggestions to help me would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the tool, but maybe holding ice water in your mouth would help bring down the swelling. I don't know if it will work, but it seems like it might.

Good luck!

I'm sorry. The first days are hard. If you have any adhesive, rinse with some warm water to loosen (I'm guessing not). You have to go behind your front teeth and slowly pull up and out ( wiggling ). It takes a while to get used to it. I don't think they make a removal tool. I'd check with your dentist to see what all you can do for the swelling. I did ice for the pain (had to go back to work too soon) and NSAID for the swelling.

Welcome aboard! I hae the same problem in the beginning. You won't need a tool. It will all of a sudden overnight not have that problem because your gums will shrink quickly. Do your salt water rinses. ..so important. It will help with healing and just as salt will draw out fluids from meats, veggies, it will draw out the fluids causing the swelling. Hold your breath and close your mouth like you are about to blowcout a candle. That pressure will help loosen them. Wear your dentures as much as possible during the healing process as your gums will be helped to "mold "to the denture. That first time I took them out i cried it was so hard and painful! Get 20% benzocaine extra strength orajel pain reliever. I coated the sore spots"NOT THE EXTRACTIONS" and then placed it back in. Very painful for a couple of minutes and then the pain faded and i was fine. The first 3 or 4 days were the hardest. I drew a diagram and marked where sore areas were rubbing for my dentist and he easily adjusted the spots and it felt much better. My E day was the 27th of January. Im doing much better. .now because of shrinking of the gums im struggling to find which adhesive works best for me. I can't emphasise enough about the gentle salt water rinses!

I use coconut oil or olive oil to clean mouth, the oil should help loosen too..
They told me to yawn and push down on back teeth to break seal. It will loosen soon enough, don't use any tools, it could damage denture or your mouth.
