Denture teeth too short

I had all of my upper teeth extracted a little over a year ago. I purchase affordable dentures top denture called the ultimate package. The problem I'm having is, the back of my front teeth only stick out about an eighth of an inch from the acrylic. I brought this to the dentist attention and he said it was because of the shape of my mouth. I have compared it to hundreds of other dentures and all of the other Dentures I have seen, the teeth stick out like a normal tooth should look. It makes it very difficult to bite through food because the tooth isn't long enough to bite through things. My question is, is it normal for the front teeth to be that short. The best way I can describe the length of them would be to compare it to the thickness of a house key. Any information is greatly appreciated, and any information on what I can do about it is greatly appreciated. I have complained about this for months but I'm constantly being told there's nothing they can do. Thank you in advance.

Mine are the same .Its ridiculous .I was told thats normal and how they are made . My bottom dentures have more teeth which is pointless if theres not enough at the top.

I have the exact same problem, plus the gums are super long and red and when l smile way too much gum shows. I got them yesterday and l asked dentist if l should soak them in water. He said water?? No, put them to the side and let them dry out. Now, the next morning, they're dried out and hard. I can't understand why he said that. And before the dentist came in the room to pull some top teeth first, his helper had me initial and sign a form that looked old and many sentences were missing because it seemed to have gotten wet and then dried out or the original one was full of missing words because someone had deliberately erased them so hard it went through the paper. Then they made copies of it. I had initialed one sentence that said l approved of my dentures and like them before l left office. When girl came back into the dentist room, as l was lying in the chair l said Hey l can't initial this he didn't even pull my teeth out yet and put dentures in. I have to cross my initials out. She quickly mumbled something, grabbed the sheet from my hands and left the room quickly. Something was off about that but l couldn't put my finger on it. What sheisters. I believe they have a lot of those same forms for patients to sign because some of it is rubbed out. If a judge saw that, he'd know that's shady. Isn't that fraud? When dentist finished l had to go wait and watch for my taxi and l forgot to see if she crossed my initials off because l didn't like the dentures. I thought well, maybe if l put some lipstick on they will look better. I got a few insults and laughs on them. So this morning l left them a phone message saying l don't like them and people are insulting me. One even asked if l'm ready for Halloween and they wanted to know the dentist's name. They haven't called back yet but it's only 9:20 am. My Wellcare Insurance paid $750 of the total and l paid the rest. What can l do, l'm so embarrassed to smile.

Hey Allan. Yes there is something that can be done! I work at a Denture Clinic and something can definitely be done! They need to trim away the pink acrylic behind your centrals so you can bite/tear food and chew. Do you know what kind of teeth/brand those are?

Even the lateral on the right side (2nd tooth from the center) looks like it can be trimmed a bit as well. Some acrylic seemed to set on the back and close to the central on the right. It can and should be done! Good luck!

no I don't know what kind of teeth they are, all I know is they are the best ones that Affordable Dentures offers. I seen the dentist there today, and he said there is nothing he can do that it is the way my mouth is formed. I figured it was a bunch of bull. Thank you for your response, I will look for what options I have to have him repair it.

Oh wow. I'm sorry to say but that's a horrible job! That is literally a patch job. When a repair is done there may be a slight difference in color as the new acrylic material they use is a different kind- basically a cold cure the denture itself should be made with a heat cure but it shouldn't look like that!!!!!! They are supposed to use their hand piece after the acrylic is set and trim it so that it is all smooth and blends in with the rest of the denture.
I don't want to seem rude but it doesn't seem like these "corporate" chain dental/denture places care much about their patients and well being. What are all those white lines on it? Are those lines from you soaking it or?

Hi, sorry it took me so long to respond, I was involved in an accident and had numerous surgeries. The lines are cracks. I've all but given up hope on dentures, I am saving up to possibly have an implanted Bridge.

They always try to tell you that there's nothing that can be dine. I did choose the size of tooth but now that their set in the dentures they're too small. And too straight. I wanted a little overbite like my natural teeth. I don't know what to do.

I’ve had dentures for nearly two years. I bought them from Aspen dental. They teeth in front are way too short. Not the size of my natural teeth at all. I kept having them correct the wax impressions but finally accepted what they gave me. One of the front teeth chipped recently. It’s been a terrible experience. I don’t know what to do. I’ve probably let too much time go by.

Holy Cow.  I'm sorry you're going through this, but thanks for sharing.  I originally considered them but walked away after hearing some horror stories.  Hopefully this will deter other folks from using them as well.
