I had 7 teeth removed end of August 2018, then the remaining 12 November 30, 2018 and immediate dentures. I started with soft foods and was told to start adding "chewable" foods at 2 weeks. I tried and was not able to chew or drink anything without the bottom denture popping up. I had a soft reline done at week 3. Fixodent would not even hold the bottoms in, even with only drinking water. 10 days after the reline the bottoms popped up and I had to take them out. I noticed the "soft reline" was coming loose so I pulled it off the rest of the way (it did not help the bottoms to stay in anyway). Now I am back to eating soft foods again. I am so unhappy and feel like I would be better off not eating or drinking anything. I know there is an adjustment period, but I am just depressed not being able to eat "real food". I drink Ensure Plus to keep some sort of nourishment in me. I have lost nearly 20 lbs from not being able to eat and I am irritable and angry all the time, in addition to being angry I am hungry constantly (guess that is what is called "hangry") Do I really have to wait another 8 months for the hard reline to be able to "eat"?
