Does anyone know if Affordable Dentures does good work? I have read both good and bad reviews on the web.

I am about to get a full top denture and probably a partial bottom denture. I have been looking at Affordable Dentures, because they have a lab in the office so they can make you a temp while your mouth is healing from the extractions and their prices are good. What I want to know is how do I pick out a denture place? On average what do dentures cost? Is there anything that I should watch out for? I live near the Seattle/ Tacoma areas of WAshington if anyone can recommend a dentist to put in my dentures. I have not smiled in years, and having dentures will give me the oppertunity to smile again w/o covering my mouth like I do now.

i'm familiar with Affordable dentures and would not recommend you go there. Same day Dentures are usualy cheaply made. I see a Prosthodontist who has a lab in office. Find one in your area. It took a month for him to make my dentures because he wanted them to be just right for me. I have uppers and lowers and these are the best ones I've ever had. So It's worth the wait to get them right instead of having to endure unecessary pain.

I know about Affordable dentures, we have one here in my nearest city. A friend of mine had his done there, and he was not satisified. Basically the rule of thumb on dentures is what you pay is what u get! Plus when u get denturesyou need to get a reline done down the road at some point, basically it is usually at the 4-6 month period after you get your dentures. Because after the extractions of you teeth before your dentures, your gums, jaw, and gumline is changing basically everyother day! At affortable dentures they don't do this fixing of dentures consistinly after you get your dentures, so basicallyyourdentures create sore spots, and are going to very lose. Unless you find a dentist and pay alot extra (which in term would have been cheaper just to have this dentist do the whole thing in the beginng), and have everything done right, and pay one flat price. I have had my teeth pulled, and had to have upper dentures, I had this done on July 20, 2011. I have had to go in there all the time, at least twice a week, to have them adjusted, because of sore spots, and inapropriatly fitting. When I first found this dentist, I went through their finance company and go a quote for everything, I mean everything that is going to cost me!I got a flat fee, Just so there are no surprises. So even sometimes I have to go in 3 times a week, but I am not paying any extra, because of this one time quote and flat fee. The dentist did the extractions is his office that day, and I got my dentures the same day. Which is good to good to get ur dentures the same day, because of the problem of getting dry socket. The dentures that are in place, prevent this very painful problem. (I know I actually did end up getting this for my bottom teeth) Plus everyone say my dentures are beautiful and one of the best they have ever seen. I am happy, so I would defiently recommed going to a dentist that can give you good quality dentures, rather than affordable dentures. I mean think about this.it is your smile forever, a smile that is a first thing people look at.Like when you get a job, or maybe meet the one, if you are not married. But a smile lasts a lifetime, shouldn't your dentures!

Sorry Debbie that you have to go through all that. That's part of what I love about my Dentist. She and only she looks at my teeth. One woman show with a lovely secretary Kelly and one dental assistant, her son. She is squeezing me in on Thursday. I called about a possible piece of tooth that may be trying to push threw my gums. Not sure so want her to check it out.
I certainly can understand your being upset about making payments when the job wasn't done right or doesn't fit right. I think they should start all over if they are really bad and they say they can't do anything about it? That 10 year warranty should cover getting the teeth done correctly. You shouldn't have to live like that.
I checked into Russell Klien, just because I heard so many people give raving reviews. You can buy a pair already made and he will custom fit them to you. That would be $150. - $250. That includes the wax kit. Custom made uppers for me , with the the ultra custom denture, would be at $450. He will even work on payments with you then send you the denture when you are paid up. He sounds like a really nice man who is in this because he cares and wants to help people.
The only reason I contacted him is in case I decide I can't stand the thickness of my present permanent denture. Those ultra thins are tempting. If I am going to be paying my Dentist $200. in April for the final process, I could add another $250. and have the perfect teeth for me. Luckily I have 5 months to decide.
I really hate wearing these. They were made well, no complaints there but I just can't function like normal. Everyone says give it time. I will but they still feel so unnatural and I pull them out to eat. Still on softer foods.
Ok, I've rattled on enough haha
A very ~* Happy Thanksgiving *~ to you also Debbie. ( my sisters name)

I just had all my teeth pulled at affordable dentures 5 days ago (paid by medicaid). They put the first set of dentures in my mouth the same day, had me bite down on gauze, sent me home, sill totally numb. Here is my one piece of advice....(get some REALLY STRONG pain killers), the codeine/tylenol 325mg was CRAP! The pain was and still is horrible. As soon as the feeling starts to come back into your mouth, lips, cheeks, gums, etc...the pain gets worse. Imagine all of your teeth, screaming and throbbing at the same time, plus new sores from what ever they did during the oral surgery.

I look different, not the same. I'm still in pain, especially with all the new sore spots these dentures are creating. The slit of skin that holds my upper lip to my upper gums is constantly getting rubbed or cut by the dentures, and sores all over my lower mouth under the tongue too from new spots where the dentures lay, as the swelling goes down. I can only drink my food, I cry, it hurts a lot to cry too, the cuts in my mouth and gum tissue gets pulled when I blow my nose, or even pucker my lips to kiss, etc. I thought of suicide once, for a minute. I smell and taste the awful healing process, every minute, and I'm still on day 5.

I finally took them out all night long last night. Put them in this morning (day 5) and it hurt way worse than normal, probably because my gums got to relax for a little bit, and it is always like squeezing and pulling on a hard plastic boot over a wounded soldiers foot (think: Dances with Wolves).

They made an appointment for me to go in, within a months time, to get checked. I really want to go in earlier to have the dentures fixed to fit better, to especially stop cutting that string tissue which connects the upper lip to the upper gums. So raw, stingy, painful, throbby.

Hi Melissa. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I would strongly suggest calling your dentist for an appt now. Do not wait an entire month. Most of us needed adjustments within the first 4 days of gettting dentures after extractions. I know I did. It helps quite a bit with pain but if you are still in a lot of pain now at day 5 you should be checked to make sure you don’t have an infection somewhere. Sore spots are very painful and can be fixed so make sure to call as soon as possible. Good luck. It will get better if you make sure to call the dentist whenever you have pain.

Thank you Sarah, I for some reason, always have a strong desire to not call the dentist. I don't like going there, but now that I am at almost 1 month of having the dentures, I still have discomfort, but not as much. The bottom piece permanently indented new grooves into my inner bottom gums around my back bottom teeth. My upper lip connection, which was getting cut, is now not the same shape it used to be, it is now a flap, because of the cutting that was happening to it. I still can't chew food, have to take my dentures out to eat mushed food. But at least I can still eat some favorites, like ice cream, pudding, etc.

I went to Wonder Family Dental & Dentures, they had a dentist and a denture professional to get my work done.  I had several extractions and full dentures placed immediately after.  They also made me an appointment for the day after and the next week for follow up and adjustments if needed.  Luckily I didn't have to endure the pain you went through and if I did, those appointments were already locked in for me.  I cant stress enough "you get what you pay for" and everyone should really seek a dentist for their mouth pain.  Don't go budget for health stuff.

Affordable Dentures in Homested Florida quoted me a price of $4500 for extractions and a full upper and full lower... No follow up included.
I had my work done by a local DMD here in Key Largo, $5036. all inclusive, follow-ups, adjustments, everything...
The dentistat Afffordable was very unpleseant, making snide remarks as to what my dental problems were... I would NOT recommend them to anyone. There are Dentists out there who do a great Job, and treat you like you mean something to thier business, not just a pile of money.

Affordable Dentures is crap! A year has gone by and I still do not have upper Dentures that do not fit my mouth. I made an appt to have them fixed and Dr Blair @ the Mesquite, TX location would not see me, told me to get a refund and gave me the name of another practice to go to. Total rip off!

I had all teeth extracted June, 2011 and paid $6000 for a complete set of dentures.Went back 2 and 3 times weekly for "adjustments" including a soft reline. These dentures look terrific but nothing they did helped me to keep them in. I finally got disgusted and went to a dentist who advestised reasonably priced dentures made in their own lab on site. I went in at 9:00 AM and got the impressions made. By 11:oo AM they had wax mockups made which they checked for fit and used to make the final dentures whcih were placed in my mouth at 4:00 PM on the same day. The cost was about 1/10th of what I paid for the originals. They look great and fit great. So anyone says you have to spend a lot of money and wait weeks or more for dentures is simply wrong. Incidentally, these dentures are guranteed for a year and any necessary adjustments are included. I know this is not "Affordable Dentures" but I think it demonstrates that dentures on't have to break the bank.

i did the exact same thing 6 weeks ago.... dont go there..... they really suck.... my stiches came out in 2 days resulting in dry socket that they would do nothing about..... you have to pay in full up front and so since they have already been paid they dont want to do anything else. adjustments have to be readjusted almost everyday because they never get it right or they say.... i know.... but it has to be that way.... like,,,,, i know you have horse teeth but it has to be that way.... whatever.... they suck .... dont go there

A friend wants to go here and I am helping her cover the cost. She just needs uppers. No extractions. I'm worried. Is this place OK and do they do a good job? I have heard mixed reviews here and on yelp. How long do they guarantee their work? Do they adjust the set till they fit properly? I don't want her to be dissatisfied later. She needs them fairly soon too. Please advise!

I am a Very unlucky person that went to Affordable Dentures it is the most miserable experience I have ever had with a Dentist I would highly recommend that you make a U-Turn before you think of going to this place .The dentist broke my tooth and and he knew he did as he mumbled something and I heard a strange noise when I got home I and  added Ice to my water and I went threw the roof he left the tooth exposed and very sharp I have not been able to eat as my tongue is so sharp that it is swollen and the pain is constant I called to tell them right away and they came up with every reason they could that it was not there fault. The women at the front need an attiude  adjustment  and the Dentist he is a piece of work he hides so you can not say anything to him I also went as far as calling corporate and believe it or not they act just as dumb as the people in the office they will tell you they will have someone call you back in 24 to 48 hours do not wait by the phone. The office I am talking about is in Pembroke Pines in the Chuckie Cheese Plaza.I have slo much more to say but I do not have any more time JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE OR FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND ANY OF THEM MY FRIEND WENT TO 1 IN WEST PALM BEACH THEY NEVER TOLD HER THE FIRST SET WAS TEMPORARY SO WHEN THE YEAR WAS UP SHE WAS SCREWED AND BE CAREFUL THEY TEND TO CHANGE BUILDINGS TO MAKE YOU THINK THEY ARE A DIFFERENT OFFICE BUT THEY ARE NOT.

My gosh I keep hearing really bad stuff about them I finally went to a dentist here in my town who actually recommended me to a specialist in another town and I live in a town with over 100,000 people in it and cannot find the darn Dentist worth two cents to help me! Finally one of them was very honest with me and said there’s no one really around here that can help with such bone loss lproblem since you cannot have implants ...but they knew of a dentist that could do prosthetic oh my God I love them it looks real my teeth look real I’m totally satisfied they cost less and my husband said that he had 13 teeth capped and even look better than his lol
He looks like he has false teeth

Although they appear to be a national chain they are not!  They are a franchise,  Some are good some are not.  Some are a disaster.  Quality is much a local issue.

I went to the one in Woodbridge Va., the people there are friendly and have tried to be as helpful as they can be. I paid for extractions and the Ultimate dentures (upper and lower) and have done the impressions and wax "try-ins". I receive my permanent dentures Monday of next week.
With the try-ins I told them I wanted the lowers to close behind the uppers and I guess this is an overbite, because my temporaries close evenly. I just don't think that's natural. I also asked for a slight gap between the upper front teeth as my natural teeth had and most members of my family have. It's nowhere near the gap that Elton John has but same idea. When I went back the teeth were exactly what I wanted.
How they will fit remains to be seen. I hope it's much better than the temporaries, as I was never happy with them. But I've realized that they fitted them right after the extractions and I'm sure I was swelling and you have bone loss over this past year. Naturally you're going to keep having them relined periodically...
Anyway, next Monday I get my new Ultimate choppers. If I remember I'll post back here with my final opinion. While I'm not one who likes to write endorsements of businesses, I can say that I never had a problem with the people at "Affordable Dentures" in Woodbridge VA. As I said before they were all friendly and tried to be helpful. The one big thing is that they don't do any sedation there. You just get loaded up with Novocaine and that's it...

  • Am in the same situation basically as you. Am real curious how your Ultimate Choppers worked out for you. I am seeing the Olympia, WA franchise and have been treated better than I ever expected or could have imagined! I am a newbee at 65 yrs old and had all teeth removed, with valium before and novicaine shots. Not a pleasant experience, but endurable. They will be getting 'happy gas' soon I was told. It has been a week since I started this journey and can pretty much keep the uppers in. Still have some sore spots and movement with the lowers. I have been encouraged to call or return anytime and have been back 3 times for adjustments. The last time I went they shaved parts and put a soft liner on both. I drove there in tears and an icepack. I actually drove home with a smile on my face and caught myself singing with the radio! Am sure glad I went there before reading this blog-site! I had gone to a regular dentist who's price estimate was TWICE what I paid for the Ultimate denture with the 'New To Dentures Plan'. I have unlimited visits, adjustments, alignments  and guaranteed satisfaction.  Naturally, I would recommend the Olympia, Wa. office to everyone looking for caring, helpful, professional and affordable Dentures!! I feel for all those that have had experiences  they were not happy with. It is a painful thing to go thru and feeling that the ones you are dealing with are not on your side SUCKS!

I was in the same boat as, all though I'm a truck driver and had the luxury if picking choosing an affordable dentures nation wide. I would highly suggest reading the Google reviews on which place you select (or can make it to) and go from there. I ended up going with Dr Patel and affordable dentures in Columbus, Ohio and surprised on the service I got. I went in to get all teeth extracted, and signed up for the ultimate fit and 4 implants - $9205 total damage. It took 10mins to yank the teeth on top, and 1.5hrs to do the bottom and it was a blood bath, no pain minus the novacane but it definitely was not a pretty sight. The girl at the front desk went out of her way to drop off the prescriptions for me so I only had the one trip to make and Dr Patel personally called me after hours to see how i was doing and if i was in any pain and everything multiple times. They ended up making a second immediate set for the next morning , no charge.. All in all ive read a bunch of bad reviews with Affordale as well, and just kept looking until i found one that had a 4+ rating, Dr patel had a 4.3, and 4.4 or 4.5 now. I have 3 or 4 follow ups this year alone until I get the ultimate fit dentures put in. I would highly recommend Dr Patel and her staff in Columbus, ohio..

My fiance just got all his teeth pulled minus his 6 front bottom teeth. His insurance is caresource. Does anyone know what the best dentures are under this insurance? I'm afraid he'll have to get the cheapest ones which would mean less comfortable and natural looking. What are his options?

See if the have a payment plan .. it is worth getting the best  .. for real they will last longer good great and most of all feel good.. cheap could cost more in the long run  .. just make sure you get a dentist with a good lab and they do a correct fitting .. people who do not get a good fitting end up not wearing there teeth

Run, don't walk! They do very poor dental work and screw you on top of that.  For over a year they led me to believe they partnered with my insurance and were filing claims and that everything was good to go.  Until I called for my final denture, then they tell me I still owe $1439 and that my insurance hadn't paid and that I couldn't get my last dentures until my bill was paid. I paid half out of pocket and the rest on "CareCredit". When I called my insurance company they told me NO (zero) claims had been filed and that now it's too late. Affordable Denture will not even admit it was THEIR mistake and work with me! I feel those charges should have been written off.  They can't even say they're sorry. This is the office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by the way.

I had an implant done in cedar Rapids, ia, the flipper they made had never fit right. Had to wait an extra 6 weeks for final peg. They had problems with doctor leaving, etc. . Was told they would reimburse me for the flipper. Haven't seen anything, just more lies from these people. Now trying to get ahold of corporate office... anyone know a number???

Corporate phone # is 252-527-6121. But don't expect to get anywhere. Cedar Rapids Affordable Dentures screwed me out of $1439 that my insurance would've paid. They told me they were in my network and were filing claims for me. A year down the road and I am making the appointment to get my final dentures THEN they tell me I can't have them until I pay my bill! What bill??? First I heard of it. They had NEVER filed a claim and then it was too late for me to file one either. And my dentures pretty much suck anyway. In the process of trying to take them to small claims court.  Would not recommend these lying frauds to anyone.

So far I have been fortunate. Went to affordable Dentures. Extractions done two days ago. Already seeing a marked improvement on the fit as the swelling goes down. Forced a follow up appt. For today.(2nd day after extractions) lol! So far so good. I'll keep posting as we go along..
