I have had a denture for almost 2 years  numerous problems and issues.  And 3 different dentist  one dentist 26 impressions  crazy huh ???
I have a top full denture and a bottom partial ,I have such issues eating just about anything ,
I am using sea bond it holds well until I chew   food gets caught everywhere  .
I have tried every other adhesive ,I have too much saliva it loosens within 1 hour maybe even less. Seabond does hold until i try to eat anything..........
Of course my dentist tells me i need to get implants  for the denture which i can not afford right now.
I have lost almost 60lbs in the past 2 years , which i could afford to lose . I love to cook so i make homemade soups almost every night , Squash all kinds, sweet potatoes,  egg salad tuna fish, anything soft  icecream is real easy to eat lol.
Absolutely no meat of any kind which i used to love meat a good juicy steak ,pork chops even a hamburger  If i try to eat meat it is like chewing gum I chew and chew and chew ,the meat never breaks down .I guess i am now a vegetarian not wanting to be.
This  dentist is so kind and is working with me  and i go back time and time and time again but the problem never gets resolved  with eating food that doesn't get caught in my denture and partial or that my denture moves when i eat . I have been eating at home with my hand covering  without my top  dentures , I look like a witch with no top denture , My husband says he doesn't mind but i do. Any suggestions.

Hi Sharon, I feel EXACTLY like you! I too have a full upper denture but no partials. I do still have most of my bottom teeth except for 3 missing molars on the bottom right. My dentist says that I still need to have about 4 of them pulled! Trouble is 3 of them are on the left side (where I’m still able to chew sorta lol) and the other is the only remaining molar on the right that’s a failing root canal with a broken temporary. I’m really trying to hold onto the real teeth I still have! I would think it’d be easier to just do a full bottom denture, but the dentist swears that a partial is better than a full?!? I have found a really good product/adhesive called “Secure “ I haven’t seen it in ANY stores but I buy it online from Amazon. It runs about $6-$7 a tube and a tube lasts about a month! It’s waterproof and holds extremely well for me! So well , that I have a Really hard time trying to get them out lol! But I too have issues with eating... I find that while I’m able to eat meat.... that shortly after my teeth are shifting slightly and my bite is off, thus changing my speech a little. I have lost some weight as well which is a good thing lol. I love to not have to wear my teeth, but that means I’m stuck staying in the house. And I think I need to wear them to be able to work lol as I’m a bartender for Hilton! Best of luck to you and let me know how you’re doing. Cheryl

and everybody else
The only answer to all these problems in just as your
dentist says  is implants

Th cheapest implant system is clip on dentures
The denture  is attached to at least 2   implants so they are stable  and you can eat everything.
Its more money but it is a quality of Life solution
It is unfortunate that they are not  cheap but if you finance them they cost less then your  TV package or cell phone

If you have a dental college clinic near you that's a good place to go
If you are near Mexico or Costa Rico they are less expensive there

You have your entire life ahead of you and you should be comfortable
Let us know how you are ding

Kimmy Hanson  went to Mexico to get clip on dentrues

I believe she had both upper and lower dentures attached to  2  implants  Read what she has to say below;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The name of the dentist is Downtown Dental Clinic in Tijuana Mexico. The dentist is dr. Jacobsen and if you call this number 1-619-675-7707

and speak to Gabriel. He will give you all the information you need. I have not been to a dentist here in my city because I really am not done with the whole process yet and I don’t feel like I need to see a dentist for anything. I fully trust Dr. Jacobsen and his team , he is very good and they keep in constant contact with me . So in July I go to get permanent snap on dentures. And after that I am planning on going back once a year to Dr. Jacobsen to have them checked. I don’t regret the decision I made to go to Tijuana for my dental care it was a great choice and I only spent $4600.00 or somewhere around there and in the USA it would of cost me probably 10,000 usd or more for snap on dentures. Give Gabriel a call and tell him Kim Hanson referred you . You will be so happy that you made the call this I promise

I would suggest DinaBase7.  It works for uppers and lowers.  I don't need it on my uppers but I understand it is good for those, too.  Nothing else works for me for my lower dentures since they stopped making Cushion Grip.  DinaBase7 is online available from overseas.

Hello girls I have had all of the same issues. I found a facebook page called Women with dentures and implants and I have learned a lot. My top denture was always lose I had to use adhesive right before I ate and then rinse and reuse it right after I ate because it would become lose and full of food. I was using adhesive at least every 2 hrs. I watched a video on there of a lady using what she called her COMBO. I tried it and it is GREAT. I changed it up a little and my lose denture now stays tight all day unless I clench my jaw/teeth too much ! I use 3 layers of fixodent powder I clean my teeth then add a coating of powder shake excess out. you then use a small spray bottle filled with water and spray 3 or 4 times on denture put another coating of powder on and repeat on more time. when spray once again and put denture in mouth hold in place tight for a few min. I do not eat for about 15 min they stay tight all day now and I finally feel a bit normal now ! I hope this helps some of you. I had lost 35 pounds from not eating like a normal person Good Luck Ladies

Thanks for letting me know about the Facebook page. I get answers for all I can imagine on this site, but another page would be good too. At my dentist office, they pretty much tell me what to do...it doesn't work... they seem to think it will and everyone is the same. So I get all info on here. Always helps to "talk" to others who understands first hand.

I am only on my 13 th day with both uppers and lowers. Can’t eat with them in and not using any adhesive yet as my gums are still healing. I go back on the 19 th of which I am hoping to fix part of the problem. If not I would hope my dentist does some really drastic measures as these right now are way too big for my mouth. Seems to me that if you’re not pleased that they would have to stand behind them and their work and make them better instead of making other suggestions which cost more money. I know I for one will not let them and had better make them a lot better for the money!

Sharon, I have similar problem. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer. But, I can sympathize with you on having to take out my teeth to eat. I haven't been able to eat at a restaurant since I got them in nearly 3 years. My jaw is a bit off. Although the dentures so seem to be helping that problem. My lowers don't go slightly behind uppers like they should. They hit together. So when I eat some food sneaks down my throat and I'll choak a bit..or alot. And I have the chewing problem.,.like chewing gum too. I wish I could eat salad. I spoke to my dentist and they said maybe implants would work....I can't afford that. But they did say either way, to these dentures will never fit and I'll have to get more made. Can't afford that either. My dentist must be very patient, because all at his office thinks that one day I will give in and have more work done. I'm still paying off the first set. Giggles. I'm sure at some point I will. I certainly will not go to same office. But, I'm always glad I can smile. Hope all goes well for you!! (I understand eating in front of family without the teeth in is difficult.)

Have you tried SeaBond Sheets? I can't advise on lowers, I only have uppers. Sometimes when I chew steak the denture comes a little loose. But since it's a sheet holding it in, not adhesive, nothing oozes or melts. I change how I chew, the upper goes back into place, the sheet grabs hold again.
Sometimes I have to chew with a slightly different mechanic...side to side like a camel not straight up and down like a human :D
I can drink hot liquids without worry that the adhesive will melt and ooze. OK we still have to be careful not to eat or drink anything too hot.

Putting the SeaBond Sheet on is a little more involved...gotta trim it with sharp scissors to fit. After using a little water to make it stick on the inside of the denture, trim the edges with sharp scissors.

When you first put the denture in it might feel a little odd, a little "too big". But gently make chewing motions, push with you tongue, it'll ease into place.

I've kept it in more than 12 hours. It's very easy to remove, and easy to clean the denture and my mouth!

SeaBond makes sheets specifically for Uppers, and specifically for Lowers.

I am only a newbie, day 16 with uppers only, have just started trialling the Seabond upper wafers until I get a soft reline done at the end of the week.  I must say, as a new denture wearer, i'm very impressed so far with these wafers.  They hold my denture in securely, are comfortable on my upper mouth roof and gums and no mess at the end of the day.  Thanks to these, I can eat so much better and not have to worry about the looseness.  Yes, the sizing of the wafer can take a little bit of extra time (I've made myself a cardboard template to use for sizing), but the trade off for their effectiveness outweighs that :-) I also have a little spray bottle, that I spritz the water on, and that makes it easier to apply too. Really looking forward to the day that I can eat salads with them :-)

Sea bond works for me just can't eat meat even small pieces but so much better than any other adhesive, No sticky mess ripping your gums when you take them out seabond is the best so far. Thanks

From time to time I use SeaBond or Fixodent adhesive instead of the sheets. I like to rotate so my mouth doesn't become sensitive to using the same thing all the time.
I hate it that at the end of the day, the Fixodent or any other strong adhesive is so hard to totally remove from my mouth.
SeaBond adhesive holds very well, but it dissolves in water so after 8 or 10 hours it gets oozy...I get very thirsty so I drink a lot of liquids.

So there's that trade off...adhesive  that holds well and that's easy to remove at the end of the day but gets oozy and makes the inside of my mouth feel sticky.

So I do prefer the SeaBond Sheets

Hi ladies about the best thing that I can tell you is thank God cushion grip is back on the market. You can buy it on eBay and you can buy it on Amazon or you can just go to www. Mycushiongrip.com I am 61 years old and I still have the same set of teeth that I've had for almost 35 years with only one adjustment in all that time. The reason because of cushion grip. This is not like Fixodent or Polident or sea Bond or any of those of their products it is more on the line of if you remember when you was a child and you had that little plastic stuff you squeezed out of a tube and you put it on the end of a straw and you can blow bubbles with it. That's what this is like only you rub it between your hands to make a long line and put it inside your dentures you give it just a couple of minutes let it air out because you've stirred it up then you put your dentures in and bite down but don't hold it just kind of seat them in place. The best news of all you can take your teeth out that night put him in the container and soak them take them out in the morning wash them off and put them back in and the cushion grip is still there. It will last for days or more. The company suggest every 4 days and there's very good reason to change it out but myself personally have left it in quite a bit longer because they took it off the market for a while. We hollered we Fest we phone called we did everything we could think of and they would not put it back on the market because the company was slimming down to sell off a portion but they didn't sell that to anyone and now another company has heard our cries of pain and has taken over manufacturing it and has bought the rights to it. Thank you!! This stuff provides a seal between your gums and the Denture. And I mean a seal so that food does not get trapped under it you don't feel the pain but sometimes you might want to rinse the food off of them. But I'm telling you ladies and occasional Gents, you will love this product once you give it a chance and learn how to properly apply it. I urge you to go less is more in the beginning and that way you get a feel for what you need to apply for your dentures. Right now the company that bought the rights to it have a lot of start up cost that they need to recoup so at this point they're selling it at $19.99 per tube but remember it will last for days. It's not like what you have to put in now and keep reapplying reapplying putting more doing this doing that you know it's not like that it's much better softer and you will eat anything you want because I eat apples I eat steak and I eat corn on the cob with my dentures. Once you adjust to this and how to properly put it in your dentures you will find that you will have a whole new world open up to you without the pain and it keeps the suction so your teeth are not going to flop out at the wrong moment. I urge each of you to at least by 1 and try it because it's going to be the best thing you can do for yourself.

I could not have said this better!  Anyone with dentures should certainly try Cushion Grip.  I understand it may not work for everyone, but nothing else has worked as well for me over the many years I have had my dentures.  Hopefully the price will come down a bit in time.  It is comparable to other products, however, due to the fact that an application works for a much longer time.
