Got my perms last Saturday!!!

I picked up my perms last Saturday.  Wow, what a difference.  The top has incredibly good suction, no matter what.  Now, the bottoms are a bit different.  The flanges are a lot longer than my temps.  The first time I tried to eat with em in, they dug into my mouth under my gums to the point of almost intense pain.  So, call the dentist and go in for an adjustment.  That helped quite a bit, even though they are still a bit too long for total comfort, I can eat with em.  I am lucky that I was able to call my dental office on Monday and get in on Tuesday.

In some ways, the perms feel larger than the temps because the bottom flanges do go down farther.  But, there is an advantage in that too.  I had salad for lunch today.  First one since getting the perms.  I would not try salad with my temps because they would pop loose at the first bite of food of any kind.  So, the top has excellent suction and the bottoms, which I put in with a tiny bit of glue this morning (insurance, you know) stayed put all day.  The other thing I notice about my perms that was missing in my temps - the molars have much more definition which means chewing things with texture, i.e., lettuce, is a breeze.  Honestly, I will be going back to the dentist for a further adjustment - there are some sharp places on the bottom and I can't stick my tongue out at anybody if I need/want to because the edge catches the base of my tongue and hurts.  Having said that, I am pretty satisfied overall.

Do you have to use adhesives with the top plate?

There is.  Do the perms need adjustments?  Yes, they do.  But they are so different than my temps.  One - the molars actually are able to chew stuff, like lettuce.  I can eat salad with my dentures in!!!

In some respects, they feel more bulky than the temps.  But the suction on the top is incredible!  I use a little bit of glue on the bottoms when I know I am going to eat, but not near as much as it took with the temps.  The flanges on the bottom are still a bit too long, but I am waiting as long as I can to get them trimmed to see if it is bearable or not.  After talking to my dentist about the longer flanges, he explained that they actually have a dual purpose.  One is to help keep food from going under the bottoms and the other is the longer flanges actually help create a little bit of suction for them.

Well Chucky maybe you can try that Cliff bar I tas alking about. To each their own on flavors but when I saw the bars on sale for $1 I grabbed that flavor as well as others and then went back for 2 more. Lol. I don't buy them often as I'm not totally into them but the sale price was great. Damn I should go check tmro.

They are expensive, but make a good breakfast if you’re short on time. I have a tight schedule from time to time.

More good news, I’ve gained 4 lbs back.

I LOVED chocolate chip clif bars. Now that I can eat them, maybe I’ll gain some of my weight back. Last night I went to a buffet with my family and friends. I didn’t even think about it. I was eating like normal. That was nice
