Help with tooth chips | DentureLiving Customer Community

I had 18 teeth pulled almost 3 week ago and received immediate dentures. Due to health problems I had to have an oral surgeon remove my teeth but am working with a same day denture place for my teeth and follow up care. All of a sudden I have a tooth chip coming out of my lower gums and when I put the denture in it hurts terribly. And of course it's the weekend. Who do I call tomorrow? What do I do about dentures today? Thanks!

I too had that problem for almost a year. You can use ice to numb it by rubbing it along the gum until it breaks through enough to pull it out. Or use oral gel to do the same. once it is out you will feel much better. The ice helped me the most.

I keep forgetting that cold won't hurt anymore! Lol. It's been so many years since I've been able to even think about ice in my mouth. I will try a combination of ice and Ora-jel! Thank you!

I had the same thing. I used tweezers and carefully pulled them out. If it came right out fine but sometimes it seemed like they were stuck but really wasn't. But you need to get them out because you will feel so much better. I had 23 teeth pulled. Had implants put in also.
Not sure you have tooth chips but more bone spurs. That is what my surgeon told me.

On Monday I called the denture place first and they had me come right in. The dentist there pulled them out. It took all of 2 minutes. I am a huge baby about teeth things that there was no way I could have done it myself! Lol

The dentist did say that I could have these for months.
