Just checking in. Got locked out of this account for a while. Honestly I have little news. I had a soft reline on 8/2 and still going. It has a little tear in it, going to get a new one in 10/4. Eating great. Gained back 10 lbs. going for permanent impressions on 11/4. Hope you’ve all been good!

That's awesome! My friends will love to hear that you loved it. I'll let them know. I actually did more local stuff then touristy stuff...literally. Went downtown grocery shopping, went to the fresh market, went to get fresh fish at the dock from the fishermen coming in. Went to dinner oh and Ambergris Caye and Old Belize a couple of times. Drove to south mexico and the guys dropped us off at the mall and they went to the "home depot". Lol

I would post a few pics but I had a bad bully on this forum in the past so I'd rather not.

It’s possible we may go back to Belize City in February. Haven’t decided yet. That or Southern Mexico. I need the stress relief.

And on a dental note, this is by far the least comfortable reline I’ve had. My bite feels more off each day, and it’s keeps losing suction in one spot on the palate. No going back for a while either. Kinda annoying. I wish I would have just left it alone.

Bullying is everywhere. They are most likely jealous.

Haha thanks. That's too bad to hear about the fit of your denture. Have you tried Sea Bond? They're strips and may be if you custom cut them they can help for the time being. My friends wife who is the local used to work for the gov't and now launching her travel/tour business there. I hope we get to go next yr and if so it would be around March or April. That's when I can get time off work. I'm the mean time her hubby who was born here will be back here visiting family and us very soon. Not the same as we will probably get our 1st snow fall. (Tears).

Lets hope. I think the liner is “settling” a little. Not a bad thing, I think it may have been a little thick in places. Now that it’s hardening a little it feels better. Could change tomorrow, but we shall see

The 3rd week healing-soft liner made all the difference between
agonizing dentures-caused pain/cuts/sores/lesions --- and finally a sense of peace-perhaps? with this 'feels-hideous' mouthful of unyielding hard plastic, lo!
Comforting relief enough that I question do I really want the weekly appt. with denturist this week? Do I dare risk this current relief of torturous dentures for a weekly tune-up that may leave the darn things much more misaligned and possibly painful?
It's always a new day, possibly different day, in Adventures with Dentures. ;-)

If it hurts or is really uncomfortable, go see the dentist No point in suffering. I actually went back after I posted this. They made adjustments and all is well. By the end of next month, the training wheels come off and I get my permanents! It’s been a long road, but I’m almost there. You will get there too!

I tried something new today. As I mentioned, I had to go back to the dentist for some adjustments after my travel. They did a great job in making them comfortable, it I did need lots of adhesive as they had to do some grinding lol.
This made me have a constant bubble under my top lip. Nothing bad, just annoying.
Long story short, I had won some Densurefit earlier, but never used it. If you don’t know, it’s an at home reline kit. I did a “snug up” application over my dentists reline. Followed the instructions. Wow!! Can’t say more. It was easy, and they are stupid comfortable!!! No adhesive and soft. If anyone has questions about it let me know.

Exactly! It's your mouth. "They" say dentures should be replaced every 5-yrs due to the "wear/tear" of them and your mouth changing over time. Did you get anything else included in your new set?

That is really good. Yes you may need a Reline down the road. Kind of like getting an oil change. :)

WOW.....that's awesome news and I'm so happy for you, bullies are usually jealous or just people who don't like themselves very much so ignore them because this a support group and we should be doing just that and most of us here actually care about the others here, afterall we have the same struggles. I lost 22 pounds and only weighed 113 when the dentist that did my mini implants caused them to break off while trying to seat an upper horseshoe denture that didn't fit and it's been a horrible experience and I have literally one implant left out of seven. I'll share my story here later. It's been hard to talk about it, but I feel I'm among friends.
