As your gums heal they shrink down from the swelling and the plate gets looser. I am at the same time frame as you with the same problem. Everyone says after the first reling its much better. I cant get one for a few months still thats why I have to use adhesive.

So true. Relining is perfect. In the meantime use fixodent with scope. Holds very well and easy to take out and off at night.

Adjustments and fixes should be included in the cost you paid.

I USED ASPEN DENTAL AND THEY ARE GREAT.. HAD ALL TEETH REMOVED AT THE SAME TIME .AS MANY RELININGS  AS YOU NEED !! I HAD BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM  PULLED AT THE SAME TIME  AND IMMEDIATE DENTURES PUT IN ~~~  I AM SO GLAD I HAD BOTH DONE  -- I PROBABLY WOULD NEVER GO BACK  FOR BOTTOMS ~~~ THEY HAVE OFFICES ALL OVER  THAT WII ALSO RE-ALIGN !!  MY BOTTOMS ARE  NOT DOING AS WELL AS THE TOP BUT  I THINK THAT IS NORMAL... ANYONE ELSE HAVE  BOTH AT THE SAME TIME ~~MINE WERE DONE ON DEC 10 TH...

from what i have read its normal to have problems getting them tight and fitting just how we want them for the first year. i think it takes that long for the gums to really heal and set. I have bought and used so many different pastes that i have a drawer full, and thats in the last 2 months that i have had my dentures. looks like i might get the fixodent with scope now unless anyone has tried it and can say if it holds better than the rest or not.
i tried cushion grip today and it is totally different than the others. i would never call it a paste. its more like what i would think a soft reline would be. its thick, sticks to the denture not the gums but forms to the gums so the fit is tighter. i did go all day with no paste and they didnt fall or move around in my mouth. however when i ate they clanked and moved...i knew they would cuz they were not pasted to the gum. i put paste over the cushion grip and it held through my dinner. it says you can on the directions. they came right out tonight and no paste or glue was left in my mouth.
its suspose to last for a few days. i dont know if i would recomend the cushion grip but i will use the rest of the tube cuz it was more than the pastes.
i know one thing i cant wait for my first reline.......

My upper was pretty horrible after the initial swelling from the extractions went down (to the point where I would barely leave the house), but after I went back to the dentist for a "soft reline" it's fit very well.  Keep after your dentist -- it's his/her job to make you a denture that fits well, is comfortable, and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, you can EAT with.  If you don't have that keep nagging until you do.

Very true Marion, it is there job and its what you paid for. Just keek calling and going in until it feels like you want it too. Everyone does say after the first reline its much better.

mini implants at Comfort Dental are about $1,600 for the lowers. You might want to check into it. I highly recommend Comfort Dental. My dentist, Dr. Kellow, is amazing.
