Home Remedies for Thrush?

I have a small patch of what I'm pretty sure is thrush on my tongue. It doesn't hurt, it's just a white haze to that spot. I have it because I haven't been taking my dentures out enough, I'm sure. They just hurt so much to put back in!

Anyway, I've read online to try apple cider vinegar and a few other things. I put apple cider vinegar on my tongue yesterday. Then coconut oil on it before bed. I have a dentist appt next week so I'll get him to look at it. Just looking for ways to prevent it from getting worse. Anyone have some first-hand knowledge about this?

For any irritation, I take out the dentures at night and swish with coconut oil. Usually clears up overnight.

You've sure had a rough time! Keep up the coconut oil. Could be reaction from antibiotics? I wonder about peroxide mouthwash if that would help. Prayers your way, Hon!

Is there anything coconut oil doesn't fix?! I love that stuff. And it tastes way better than the vinegar. I'll stick with it. Use it more often, actually.

Connie I have had a rough time. The first week was probably the worst week of my life. I'm finally turning a corner though. There's a dim light at the end of the tunnel. And at least, thank goodness, the thrush doesn't hurt!

Hey Lisa thank you for your advice, I feel a lot better today I even ate tuna, going to the dentist at 4:30pm, think I have an abscess, which is probably causing the swelling and nausea, this sight is great, it has help me out a lot knowing what other people are going through, thank u everyone.

Natasha best of luck to you! Tuna is nice and filling. I've had it for dinner numerous times. Sorry about the abscess - that sucks. I had a spot the denture was rubbing and thought it was an abscess at first. Then it'd go away when I took them out so I realized it was rubbing, not infected. Hopefully the dentist has only good news for you this afternoon.

Related to this thread: My thrush has cleared up! I've been swishing with coconut oil a few times a day, and making sure my tongue is nice and coated before bed. My tongue is pink and happy! Thanks for the suggestions!
