I had all but 4 teeth pulled back in Oct, yesterday I finally got my permenate upper denture and lower partial. The partial feels amazing but it hurts the back of my gums on top when I'm putting in or removing the upper denture. Not sure if this is something that gets better in time or not but the gums in the back of my mouth hurt so bad today I can't get my upper denture in :( is there anything I can get at the store for sore spots that may help. I was soo excited yesterday to finally get them and I'm a little bummed they are causing so much discomfort.

It gets better with time. What I did was to use green tea at room temperature as a mouth wash and also warm salt water. You may even need the denture adjusted to reduce the pressure on the sore areas.

I first had my dentist check them and he adjusted them a little. Then he told me to use oral gel until my gums toughened up. It worked!

That is the name. It is the same thing you put on babies gums when they are teething. There are several different ones and you can get it at any pharmacy. Even Wal-Mart. Just ask someone and they will direct you to where they keep it.

Oh no! Gum pain is no laughing matter. Ouch! While you can expect to experience some discomfort, be sure to check with your doctor if it persists. Better safe than sorry. Hope you feel better sooner than later! ~RosieĀ
