Hi y'all.  Been away since everyone here helped me through getting my full upper dentures. (the oozing of denture adhesive....yuck!)
Now I really hope somebody can help me again.  I've had a lower partial for years after losing the two front teeth.  All through the denture procedures, I had a tooth (right next to one of the missing ones) so loose, I just knew I would lose it before we could get to it.   So, I ended up getting 4 more teeth pulled on the bottom, and my current partial was sent to have those teeth added.  Naturally, it doesn't fit worth a darn. When I put them in the first time (4 days ago) they were rockin and rollin and hitting every spot that was still healing and sore.  My dentist adjusted them as best he could (and yes, he's a really good dentist) and we agreed to leave them as they were until the swelling goes down.  Plus, there is no anchor on the left side yet.  I got anbesol to put on the sore places before I put the Fixodent on, hoping to numb the spots so I could push down hard enough to get a better fit.  I will go back next week for more adjusting.  And I knew I was in trouble when I stopped for a sub sandwich on the way home.  I tried biting into that sucker 3 times, and finally got a fork and knife out.  But, tonight it feels as though every inch of my bottom gums are screaming to be massaged!  I have a place right in front that feels more like part of a bone ridge sticking out. And the back right side is so loose, it feels like the partial is trying to dig a hole in there.  I know it will all get fixed a bit at a time, but right now, my whole mouth / gums hurt like crazy!  Luckily I have some pain killers left from pulling the teeth, but they don't work.  Can ANYBODY please! give me an idea what might help now!!  I know salt water rinses. We are old frenimies.  And I read something on line that said Biotene rinse will help.  Unfortunately, first the use by date was two years ago. Second...I didn't read anywhere on the bottle about pain relief.  I used peroxide and then Listerine before I brushed the 5-6 teeth I have left. Hoped that would help....nope!   Have any of you guys felt this before? Or does anyone have a good method for dealing with "Walking Dead" tooth pain?  I could sure use some advice.  Is salt water the only thing I might have on hand to help?  Sorry this is so long. It seems like if I keep typing it will keep my mind off of it.  Thanks to anyone who knows a secret home remedy or ????

There is no magic bullet.  Having a partial and then full denture is a whole different world.  Yes chewing can be difficult and cause sores and sore gums.  I use SECURE online only or a better drug store.  Maybe adding on the teeth is not working, maybe u should have opted for a new denture.  Either way it takes time try and eat soft things.  This is a very different world bottom dentures are the hardest to get use to.  Bone loss could also be an issue in fitting properly.  Give it time.  Also SECURE makes liners for bottom try it.  Difficult time.

Thank you Joan.  It's 24 hours later, and the partial is still hurting like heck.  I've been doing the dreaded salt water rinses. I saw on here somewhere, to help your gums with the healing to rub salt directly on them. Tried that on the sore spots.  Didn't help.  I kept thinking if I could just brush/massage them, it would help.  So, I opened a new package of dental stuff for my dog and got out the finger brush.  It was too big for my finger and needed more bristles, so there goes that idea.
But, while reading through posts, I saw a lot of people mention Secure as you did. I have been on their website and it sounds great.  If I could ask, do you use the Secure adhesive cream or the strips?  I'm going to order a couple of things tonight.  I was trying to find all the other comments I saw yesterday on this site, but lost patience (I tend to get easily irritated when I'm in pain for anything).  My biggest concern right now with their cream, is that they said it should not be used with soft liners.  But, I suppose that's something I'll have to discuss with my dentist before I get my permanent dentures.
Any advice you could offer about using Secure brand would be appreciated. And I saw that everyone who mentioned using that brand, also said online only or better drug stores. By online, are you dealing directly with their website?  I saw when I googled the name, a lot of places like Amazon, Target and Walmart popped up.  Have you ever ordered from somewhere besides their website?
OK.....I'll quit grilling you!  I really do appreciate the advice. And btw, I'm pretty sure all of my sore spots are on boney ridges. So I know my gums will just have to adjust.  I also learned to Not put Anbesol on without a mirror. Anbesol in excess tastes very nasty! :-)

I only have used SECURE paste and check out the others that sell SECURE and I am to try the SECURE LINERS you are right either paste or liners.  Whenever I eat something always loosen my denture on bottom.  I have been known to take them out.  Just make sure its in a case not tissue where you can throw out by accident.  Sometimes I would rather stay home than got out to dinner.  Sure has changed my life.

I have heard good things about swishing aloe Vera pulp to help w sore spots (keep it cold) - there is a formulation of it that people drink like vitamin water and while not listed as medicine some people swear by it. I have also been told to buy benzodent for pain which is on Amazon and then if u go into YouTube there are people who recommend a silicone cushion - gosh I forget the name of it - it is not an adhesive and apparently works great.. If u give the code of GURU you get 20% off plus free shipping. Called DenSureFit.
I have not tried any of these btw but I hope they can help you!
