I'm miserable. I have full uppers and lowers, they are not hurting now, but are so uncomfortable. I am a little over a week out. Afraid to be without them in front of my husband. I can't eat anything with them and only soft/liquid without them. I have cried all day (husband out of town). I need to go back to work on Mon and I still can't talk without pain a d sounding terrible. Please tell me there is a light at the end of this nasty mouth.

There IS hope, Deborah!  I'm exactly TWO weeks out and I can now wear the uppers most of the day.  The lowers are still a problem, but I put them in so I can eat something.  Go back and get them adjusted so they are more comfortable.  You have that right.  Take heart, sister.  It WILL get better.  Hugs.

I too have vowed not to let my husband see me without teeth. He says it's no big deal, it's not going to change anything but I feel like you do. You want your romantic partner to see you in the best possible light and for me, that means with teeth, so I completely understand how you are feeling. I plan to sleep with mine in but he does travel constantly so I've got a bit of freedom there.

I'm only two days in and only have uppers but I had heard the bottoms are much harder to adjust to. I can't imagine how hard that's been for you. I guess you just have to take it one day at a time. You are so very early in the healing process and it won't be like this forever from what everyone has been telling me. I don't know what type of work you do but if you can't get a few more days off, could you adjust yoir function so you don't have to talk as much, or could do a light duty where you stay sitting and fairly still? I'm not eating either, just swallowing cream soups and ice cream. I'm taking Advil along with pain meds and icing my face frequently. That's helped so far for me but I'm sure with both top and bottoms your procedure was far worse than mine.

Hang in there. I know it's rough.

Thank you so much for answering. I am trying not to lose patience. I finally took a pain pill and it helped me calm down a little. I did try eating tiny bites last night with them in and it took me a while but I did okay. I think any procedure is difficult when we make such a drastic change in our bodies. Prayers for you.

The tiny bites really do help.  It sucks, but it's the only way at this early stage.
