I've been wearing dentures since 1991. I didnt start using adhesives until 1999, so i have been throught about 1000 tubes. I found out how good fixodent was and have been with it since. When I didn't have the money to pay for it, I would go to cheaper brands. But would always return back to fixodent. When fixodent added scope ,they really started something great. My problem is it says apply once and tube should last awhile; not any of mine last. Here's why sweets causes it to detact and hot drinks and chewing gum. I love coffee and i chew gum so this made me apply more. What am I doing wrong with the application?

I would like an answer as well!  Is there a good method for applying that actually keeps the dentures in the mouth?  Does it matter if the roof of the mouth is moist or dry?  I count it lucky if I get 4 hours out of an application.

Hi G Musgrove and Linda! Just wanted to share a Fixodent method of applying adhesive in case it works for either of you. I will say, many people have a lot of trial and error before they find the application that holds the best for them. Fixodent recommends that the denture should be clean and dry before you apply.

For your upper denture, apply three or four dabs of denture cream, the size of a pencil eraser, on the upper part of the denture that fits against the roof of your mouth. For your lower denture, distribute three or four dabs, also the size of a pencil eraser, evenly around the inside area of your lower denture. If excessive denture cream oozes out of the denture after you bite on it, then you know you used too much. Remember, Fixodent is formulated for once-a-day use, so do not use more than directed. If you find you must reapply more often, please call 1-855-236-3353.

Hope this helps! Other forum members, please share the methods that work best for you! :)
