Hi.  I'm sorry to hear that you're having troubles.

I'd be very careful soaking them in hot water.  It may loosen them, but in places you may not like.  Dentures are acrylic (plastic), so they could melt or warp if the water is hot enough for long enough.

I'd suggest contacting your dentist and tell him/her about it.  It sounds like you need a serious adjustment.  They can do that with much more precision than we can by ourselves.  You spent good money on your dentures.  They should fit comfortably.

Provided that your mouth is healed from extractions, you should not be in any pain.  If you had immediate dentures done recently, then your mouth is still healing from surgery and you have temporary dentures while you heal.

I have full uppers and lowers.  After SEVERAL meetings with my dentist to make adjustments, mine are very comfortable and hold well with adhesive (I use Fixodent Original).

But, proper fit is essential.  There is nothing worse than a poor fitting denture.

I feel I am very lucky. I had all my remaining teeth pulled. Intermediate dentures I placed. That evening they called to see how I was doing. I went in the next day for the dentist to check the stitches checked. All good. I never had pain during the injection of Novocain, teeth pulling or since. I have a long history of dental pain and bad dentists. I get my permanent dentures in Dec.

Yes, ask dentist to adjust.
