I'm getting an upper March 12th so I'll be following your recovery. Your teeth look great. My teeth look fine now unfortunately which makes having them removed all the more upsetting. Bone loss is what's brought this on for me.

Congratulations , you look great and I hope your recovery is quick.

Joe,

I think I stated in another post that when I pull up to a red light, I flip my vanity mirror down and just sit there and smile at myself! LOL Good heavens I am vain! LOL

Joe they look great! I am going to Aspen tomorrow hopefully to get them to fix the mess that Affordable Dentures left me with. I had extractions feb 2 and an immediate placed. The immediates they made have screwed up my jaw, caused huge swollen glands (blocked salivary ducts), and the teeth they put in were so far different in size and shape that my mouth is stretched way to wide left to right and collapsing top to bottom. Did Aspen let you make decisions on the immediates? Which dentures did you chose? I was leaning towards the Comfilytes.

Dose anyone think their dentures are dull I think this is why I can't chew anything. I try so hard .

Patti, I don't think that they should be sharp. I don't chew real chewy things. Not sure what could be your issue.

Wow Patti. What a small world. About that label in my denture, I wondered what that "label" was inside my upper denture. I couldn't read it so I didn't bother to try. Now I am to see if my teeth are branded. At first I thought it was a GPS chip. LOL.

Im on day 11 and they are feeling great. I have gone for 2 adjustments and have to go back for a soft realign on the 25th. Im starting to do a more solid diet like spaghetti's and eggs etc and i have even tried some soft fried chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a which was tough but i finished them and a huge accomplishment so far.

I understood going into this was going to be a tougher road. Literally I have lost 5-6 pounds unintentionally of course lol but my fiancé is a great supporter and I am so happy with my results.

You will do great. The day of my extractions a few hours later I met my mother at Panera for soup. I still have the written script for Percocet on my dresser. Maybe I have a high tolerance but my pain didn't go past a 3-4. Motrin 800 did wonders for me. Swelling was not even there. That picture up top was taken and posted the day of.

You will do great. Best of luck. Any other questions you know where to get us

Joe,

I am SO glad you are doing so well! It seems like a hard row to hoe when you first start out but, eventually, things DO come together and it's becomes easier every day!  It's hard to believe I am just starting my 5th week. I feel like I've had these things in for months.

Still stumbling over my S's at times though, LOL. Tonight, I was talking with a customer on the phone about his order for "Skyscraper Sunflower Seeds". OMG! It came out "Skthysthraper  Sthunflower Theeds" I started laughing and he asked me what was the matter, so, I told him: "I just got new dentures and sthaying  Skthysthraper  Sthunflower Theeds isn't very easy! He started laughing too and what started out as a gripey customer complaint ended in a friendly resolution to his problem!

Sometime down the road, I want to see Wedding pictures with your big ol' grin in every one of them!

Keep up the good progress!

Fyllis,

Hahahah thats funny. Yes I know what that feels like. Being an emt medical terms are not the easiest to pronounce. K's are a little trouble with me. Like saying thank you. I think my back plate is just a little too thick. My dentist is afraid of she shaves it down it will crack.

I will absolutly post a picture when it is all said and done.

Have a good day

Joe,

My upper pallet was a bit 'thick' feeling at the back. My dentist didn't shave it down so as to make it thinner, but he did bevel it so there wasn't that 'shelf' back there. It seemed to block my tongue and now I don't even notice it.
