I'm 3 weeks shy of my 26th birthday and a few years ago my teeth just started to rot and fall out. I have always taken good care of my teeth aside from having a HUGE SEVERE fear of the dentist. I have come to terms with the fact that dentures is my option at this point. I got a quote to get my current teeth fixed and it was just shy of $30,000!!! That is not even an option. My current smile is literally ruining my life. I am so depressed. I don't like to socialize anymore. I feel like I'm missing things in my childs school because of embarrassment. I won't even kiss my husband anymore, and it's taking a toll. While I do have a few questions, I think I'm more here to vent. I know my husband tries so hard to be a wonderful support system but he just doesn't understand how I feel and unfortunately that makes it more upsetting. Reading a lot of stories on here has been encouraging, and that helps a lot. Vent over lol. Now for a few questions.
I need to have about 19 teeth extracted. We're you put under for this?
How did your recovery go?
What was your overall cost after everything?
I'm going to call and make an appointment for consultation this week, I just like hearing other people's experience. So please list any questions that I should ask at my first appointment. I'm so nervous I probably won't remember to ask anything unless make a list.
Thank you!!
Also, I live in MI, US.

I'm only 33 and I have a complete denture on top and a partial on bottom.

My husband tried to be understanding before, but he never quite got it. Since my surgery 1 month ago he has been incredibly supportive and understanding.

I had 20 teeth removed on Dec. 7th. I only had local anesthetic. I wasn't given an option for anything else. Even with some complications, I had no problems doing it that way.

I personally love my dentures. I wish I had done it sooner. It will be 5 weeks tomorrow and I'm already eating food I couldn't with my natural teeth. I'm making myself a burrito right now, which is something I haven't been able to eat for the last few years.

The first 3 weeks were hard, then I got my reline. After that everything has been going well.

I took this picture a couple weeks ago. It shows how good my teeth look now. It's so nice to smile again.

They look great! And your making me hungry, a burrito sounds pretty good!! Lol! I also will only need a partial on the bottom the front 6 of my teeth on the bottom are good but every other tooth needs to be removed. I only have a few that are actually missing, but I just want to smile again! Thank you!

Thank you! And the burrito is delicious. It's so nice to be able to chew food again.

I have 7 teeth on the bottom and one of them is a crown. They were the only ones that were saveable. I was missing my canines on the top and most of my molars were badly broken. That means I was basically eating with only my front teeth. Also it is nice to not have the 3 and 4 year olds I teach innocently ask me what happened to my teeth.
