New dentures too big, what to do?

I went to affordable dentures, they pulled all my teeth, gave me HUGE horse teeth and I cannot even close my mouth properly and speak properly. I went for the procedure Tuesday, I ended up calling them Thurs because I was in so much pain, and having so much trouble, so they lined them, I never even had a chance to discuss with the Dr about the size, I haven't had them in since because they are so huge and uncomfortable. So now I have mouth sores, ulcerations, and no teeth. I am planning on calling them Monday (another day off work :( ) and asking them to remake the whole set. I have been reading that they have refused to do this. What is the best approach to take to get done what I need done? I went to them because 2 girls I knew did, and they have nice "normal" looking teeth, while I look like a buck toothed monkey...what if they refuse to remake them? How am I supposed to go to work with no teeth and in pain? It is vital that I can speak properly on my job, and I can't even get the dentures in after the lining. Not to mention the chemical gave me a huge headache. HELP!!!???

DEMAND that they give you a set of dentures that fit.  Call better business bureau see if other complaints were registered about this dentist.  Small claims court.  I would not let them get away with this.  Horse teeth is what they use to use many years ago.  I have never heard of discussing the size of denture teeth.  Anyone???

I guess I have no choice but to hope that they make this right. I saw the Dentists face when she saw them before she put them in, she looked actually startled. I cannot see how they could line them when it is obvious that they are not right? I will call monday, I HAVE to be back to work by wednesday...I just hope the heck they do right. will update after I speak to them mon morning. Thank you for your reply..

I hope you get this taken care of. I used AD in my town and could not be more pleased. Do not settle for poorly fitted dentures.

When you speak with them be calm and matter of fact. Look them in the eye and ask them if they honestly think these are the right size for you then show them why they aren't.

I stayed calm, and all that...they saw me this am, i was told that "I" was the reason she was going to change her policy about people with "my" kind of insurance...she was seemingly angry, then toned it down a bit later, saying my concerns were valid. they are remaking the top. not the bottom. I am hopeful, but I am also dreading it. I go back in about 45 minutes for a wax impression. I told her AND her tech that even this early my mouth should not be unnaturally stretched open. a major problem for me is the soft liner in the bottom, they say i can't use adhesive with soft liners. they won't stay put though. wth...im very frustrated with this whole thing. I guess I will have to deal with it the best I can until I figure out other options.

I like the powder as well. You might need to try different adhesives to find the one YOU like.

Just keep doing what your doing knowing that even though they might be rude you are in the right.

Do you have someone you can take with you for support? That would stand up for you?

Well it is already done, I feel like i have just been a nuisance. Dentist told me"everybody" had this problem, but my thoughts are that if they took the time to do it decently to begin with "everybody" wouldn't have this issue. they are smaller but not by much. still too big. I am going to set up an appt with another place and see what they have to say, and if my suspicions are correct, I will go armed with this information. a miserable experience all together...and i have no one to go with me. she said they needed to be 2mm shorter, but they couldn't do it.. how about not giving the largest horse teeth? that would have made all the difference.
I will also complain to my insurance company...and make sure I write a review of my experience there.

Oh Dear Lord I'm experiencing the same thing ...since my gums have healed they won't even stay in my mouth, they drop right out. I'm going get my sister to go with me ..they will wish they did them right ...she is pretty wealthy & has a lawyer on retainer ...Were these your healing dentures or your permanent ones ?

healing. I had to go to a different dentist to get a NEW set of healing, and am hoping to get my permanent soon! I hope you can find someone to help you, I refuse to EVER go back to affordable tho :(  Why do they use horse teeth in healing dentures? I sear it is so you wont use them as perm ones...A scam it seems!

Just get your dentures and run.  Look for a DENTURIST they make the actual dentures not the DENTIST.

Hi I just joined this forum.I have been a denture wearer for about 20 years now.I have had 2 sets of dentures in all these years. The first set I got from Afforable Dentures when I had 22 teeth pulled and got the Immediate economy set and they were way to big for my mouth also. The second pair I had made I actually love but they are 9 years old and to big since my gums have shrunk a whole lot so I have been to 2 different denture places and the first dentist made them like horse teeth and I literally had to start the process of taking him to civil court and he finally gave me my 1700.00 back. Then I called all over the area where I live and explained my problem and thought I had found a good place but no I now have an upper plate I paid almost 1800.00 for just sitting in a denture cup full of water .My biggest problem now also is every place I go they try to force their trays in my mouth and actually split the corners of my mouth .It seems that all of the sudden I have an extremely small mouth opening and no one has small enough trays to fit so they can get a good impression of my gums.Im praying someone could help me PLEASE IM GETTING DESPERATE AND DEPRESSED.

My temporary partials are the same way from all about smiles they are to big for my mouth and fall out of place constantly. This is because they took impressions while I still had teeth so of course they feel big after healing I have high hopes for my permanent ones. Don't take their crap we have to advocate for ourselves or the Dr. And or dentist will take advantage. If it doesn't fit right and is causing pain and ulcerations than something needs to be done to correct it. I got mine fixed and now they fit right will upload image of my temps after being fixed

Yours are gorgeous! I went to all about smiles and mine are HUGE and just so unnatural. The dentist wouldn't let me tell him they were wrong when I saw them for the first try in, when they were wax. He made me feel like I didn't know my own face/mouth/smile. So now I'm stuck with dentures I can't stand. My lips are tearing and my webs are both irritated. I was so scared of this. I'm so frustrated and all I do is cry. I'm calling tomorrow to see if they will adjust them. But I don't have the money to pay for the adjustments. I give up.

I had a new bottom plate made there, sitting in water in my bathroom, I refuse to wear them. The teeth are huge.
