Hello everyone,
I'm a denture newbie.  I knew 20 years ago that I needed dentures, but was determined to prove the dentist wrong and save my teeth.  That didn't work out for me, and I finally stumbled into the nearest dentist with 4 raging abscesses about 10 days ago.
He gave me a prescription for antibiotics, and told me how his office makes dentures, and I signed on the dotted line and committed to it right then and there.  I didn't even know that not all dentures are made the same way!  I've been so wrapped up in the drama of my rotting teeth that I didn't research my future options.
Anyway, I've had 7 broken teeth removed and on the 20th I get the rest of them extracted.  I'll be sent home with immediates, which will also be my permanents.
My extractions are being done with novocaine only.  And I have a question: are canine teeth typically more painful to extract?  And are front teeth harder to extract?
Thanks in advance for any data.  I know I should have gone into this with more research, but I was in denial about it, and was busy trying to save my ailing teeth.  My dentist gets great reviews for dentures, so I'm optimistic.

Matter of fact, I barely even noticed those come out.

Extractions never bothered me, but 5 days ago when I had my upper canine pulled, the dentist had to give me tons of novocaine, and even then it still made me feel like my whole upper jaw was going to break when he pulled it.  He did the lower canine a week earlier, and that was no problem.  But this upper one was miserable, and now I'm uptight about the other one.  But I'm psyching myself up to be brave, lol.

I had real trouble with a molar and wisdom tooth. Really hard to get out and wouldn’t get numb. The good news is, you only have to do it once! After that you never have to worry about it again.
