Please make a product comparable to Cushion Grip

We have a special need for a product that Merk Lab has discontinued called Cushion Grip. They only sold the product at CVS and then complained it didn't sell enough. I used to go and buy up every tube they had. They started selling the 1oz tube for $3.99 when I was buying it then it went up to $7.99 which I thought was pretty expensive but I have to use it everythime I want to eat because my bottom gums are so sensitive. The plastic stays soft while you eat. Fixodent only tries to make the denture stay in place but does nothing for the cushioning. I bought Cushion Grip for $26.00 a tube and could no longer afford it. Right now on Amazon it is selling for $80.00 tube...4 for $255.00. I would say your marketing department should get on the ball and start making a comparable product because their is a need for this product. I have used it for years and my dentist recommended I keep using it because my gums are so sensitive. I have told many people about it and they are happy with the results. PLEASE MAKE THIS PRODUCT or I and many more people will be eating baby food. You should make a fortune and please make bigger tubes than 1oz. Please send this to your marketing dept.

I used cushion grip twice when I first got my dentures. I didn't find it to be soft. It was soft when first applied but after a few hours it hardened. Yes you can wear it for a few days but it is hell trying to get it off the denture. Its very simular to a reline.

I have been using this product for years and never had that problem.  It is not like a reline.  It is to be used once a day then soak for a few minutes in warm water and it will come right off.  I use it sometimes twice a day so it will continue to be soft.  I cannot eat without it.

2 years ago my husband bought a tube in Vegas at CVS for 8.00. Now amazon is selling it as high as 1000.00!. My sister brought it to my attention because she can't find it anymore so I've been looking. Nothing under 200.00 ridiculous

Linda, I found a product  called correct cushion.  I used it just once and believe me I's better than cushion.  It's been in my bottom dentures for days now and I love it.  It is made out of the U.S. and made by a company with many years in the market.  If your interested let me know.

I wish they would make it again too as my gums get extremely sore and this always let them heal.  I was really upset when I could no longer buy it. It is selling on Amazon and Ebay from $100 to $500 a tube. Ridiculous.

Shelly, if you have felt bullied by me then I am truly sorry!

Timothy stated "If you like putting stuff in your mouth you have no idea what it is made of, feel free - I could care less. First though do some research here and on other sites and you'll find the negative reviews on C/L adding up exponentially. "

I stated "I personally am thrilled to death that this Japanese product is working so well for you and others. We have far too many important issues to discuss in here that we don't have the time or desire to bash this product. I feel safe in speaking for several people on this board when asking you and your friends to STOP COMING ON HERE TO BAD MOUTH JENNIFER AND/OR COMFORT LINING!"

Please tell me where I was bullying anyone!?!

I am genuinely happy when anyone finds a product that works well for them! What bothers me is when people feel the need to put down one product to make another seem better. I have not seen that happen with Polident and Fixodent, why does it have to happen between these 2?

I'm not going to continue this discussion any further. It has never been my intention to bully or bad mouth anyone!

I wish everyone the best of luck in finding products that work for you!

I'll still be around if you should have any questions.

Have a great day!

We are here to help one another and what works for one person may not work for another. We do allow folks to post about products other than Fixodent, but please do so with respect for others. Positive or negative reviews may help others make their buying decision, but let's keep it to the product and not the person who posted it.

We have had to remove one member and we don't want to remove anyone else. You all have such amazing experiences and can definitely help each other by sharing them. Thanks so much!

You say you use it twice a day so it will continue to be soft.....that right there says it gets hard. Its not a regulsr adhesive..its a thermoplastic material whick will get as hard as a hard reline. And yes it does say it can be left in for up to 4 days...see pic.

I have tried prosoft several times. You need to read the instructions thoroughly. It was easy to mix and apply to my upper dentures. It adheres to the denture and not your gums. I still needed to add some type of adhesive To my plate for eating. One time I removed the adhesive easily. The second time it took a few minutes to remove it. It does have an odor that will last several days, the product can last several weeks. Then, I tried secure by itself. It will last for about 8-10 hours and you can eat just about anything (not steak and nuts). Again, it was easily removed at the end of the day with warm water, rubbing with a wet washcloth and eating several gummy bears. Lastly, I have used the product from Japan. It is easy to apply , you do not have to mix. The product I used had a pinkish tint. You cover your denture plate with the mixture, put in your mouth to set. It will last me from 7-10 days. I didn't notice any particular odor or burning. It does give a cushion feeling to your denture. I liked the fact that I could put them in the morning and they stayed in place. However, I needed to use adhesive when I ate. I learned with using Secure, the less the better for me. I hope to try the Comfort Lining next and will give a review on using it. I said I would give a review and this is my attempt. I am aware that these findings will not apply to everyone. We all have different gum shapes, saliva and different eating habits. I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. I hope I posted this on the correct thread and was not too long winded. And, I'm still looking for a solution to my dry mouth and dry, dry lipsn. Anyone?

Sara, if you ever do find a solution for the dry mouth issue, please let me know. Between my meds and the teeth I feel like my mouth I'd the Sahara desert!

I saw Biotene advertised last night - I might try that. Have you? If so what version? They seem to have a lot of products.

Take care!

I tried the Biotene tablets that I found in a country store in north Georgia. They were great. I would stick 2 tablets to my upper gum and it kept my mouth moist all night as they dissolved. I have not been able to find them in Florida. I am now using ACT Dry Mouth Lozenges. They can be found at most drug stores. It works pretty good. Of course, I use a ton of chap stick for my lips. I should check on Amazone for the Biotene tablets.

I would got a week without needing more and I NEVER used adhesive.  I lost my teeth at 40 due to an auto immune disease and was very very upset.  Cushion grip make all the difference for me.  I'd just soak in warm water for a few mins. put my dentures in and awesome all day!!!  Now I couldn't eat corn on the cob but I NEVER had to worry about my dentures.  There isn't anything like it on the market.  With the right marketing.  Heck with any marketing it would be a best seller.  No one took the time!  PLEASE bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered the Cushion Correction EZ but haven't received it yet. Here is the link I used and it's in English http://global.rakuten.com/en/search/?k=Cushion+correction+EZ&sid=energyplus&l-id=gs_product_... . I spent all day today researching the 2 ingredients anhydrous ethanol and polyvinyl acetate that people have mentioned. They both are used in the US in denture adhesives. Please google anhydrous ethanol in denture adhesive and polyvinyl acetate denture adhesive. I hope this helps.

Just as a matter of fact. In 2014 Toyota agreed to pay 1.2B for admitting to knowledge of,and covering up, severe safety issues with "unintended acceleration". This also included the Lexus. You can find this info in an ABC News article dated March 19, 2014. This cover up cost many lives. One of which was a friend of mine.

I have received my tube from Eric.  I will be trying it in a few days.  I will give my most honest opinion.on this product..  Eric does not ask for a credit card.  If you work with him, he will work with you.  Correct cushion is in my opinion better looking than comfort lining.  That looked like it was made by hand.  I would use the one Eric is selling over the other.  Anyone who is in need should get in touch with Eric.

paypal is how you pay for it! I have chatted w. Eric & he is still willing to sell any1 a tube to try from his own stock! He's email is clkyamada@aol.com. I have bought my 1st tube from him and have ordered more through the Japan website. It isn't that hard to figure out to do- most computers/tablets will translate the webpages, you have to find the button to do it!

For the people who think I'm a phoney acct- I'm not! I live in southeast South Dakota(yes we have snow)! Every1 needs the chance to hear about all their options; I have tried everything possible thing that is out there on the market for my lower denture- even have tried silicone molding clay for a cushion!

You'd think something that ACTUALLY works would be sweet to use, but I guess those making those nasty to get out adhesives rather we spend money trying to find a product that does something more then nothing. Right now I refuse to eat with others when Im wearing my teeth a lot of stuff if hard will pop that lower plate & its gross having chewed up food & a lower plate to handle.

I am in the middle of a full-mouth restoration with dental implants. While I wait for the implants to fuse with the bone (4 months), I am wearing dentures; my situation is unique because I have five titanium "posts" sticking up out of my lower jaw. Cushion Grip is the ONLY product I've used that actually holds my lower denture in place securely enough for me to eat a decent meal.

While my need for denture adhesive is only temporary, I completely understand and feel everyone's frustration. And let's face it, who can afford to spend $80 for a tube of it on Amazon or eBay? This inspired me to experiment and try to create an all-natural alternative. My question to you faithful Cushion Grip users is this: if an adhesive made with all-natural ingredients was put on the market, would you be willing to try it out and see if it helps? I am seriously considering this as a potential business opportunity, and I would LOVE your feedback!!

I second that. I was exposed to radiation when I was a child. I not only had thyroid cancer but started loseing my teeth in my early 20's. No teeth left by the time i was in my late 30's. I am in my 70's now.
By not being able to get Cushion Grip I am using fixodent 2 or 3 times a day. It'a a good product, just don't last long enough for me.

Ok, I know this post is old, but just in case you're still recruiting, yes yes YES YESSSSSSS I wouldn't hesitate to try your invention! I'm kind of a newbie with dentures, on my 3rd year, and Cushion Grip was a LIFE SAVER for me. I am still, 2 years later, flabbergasted that it's (a)discontinued and (b) not being made, sold, whatever, by another company!! There is just nooooo other product that compares here in the US, and in my opinion (backed by literally trying every single product I could find out there) the EZ one from Japan is the only one that comes anywhere near comparison in the entire world!! Don't these companies wanna make money? Seriously, go on Amazon, pick any item in the category of dental/denture adhesives, liners, etc., and read that product's reviews... almost every single one will be comparing the item to Cushion Grip!!! I just don't get it, seems like no business genius required to clearly see you'd stand to gain insane profits by taking over the manufacturing and/or selling of this product! I came here, Fixodent, cuz ur my fav adhesive, so I'm hoping you have a user research dept or at least an individual paying attention here, and get us this one and only product that truly works for EVERYONE!!! K, word vomiting done, sorry. :-)

I have only had my dentures for a week. I am still unable to eat solid food, but if my dentures continue to hurt, I will have them adjusted. Your dentures should not continue to hurt after your gums heal. If your dentist is unable to correct them, then I would suggest you find a new dentist. Dentures and implants are extremely common today and your dentist should be skilled enough to fix this issue.

BUT if you went to a dental clinic like Medicaid people do-they give you grief for having a lot of broken teeth & then you have craters where teeth were dug out of your gums. Good Luck, I got mine in march got so tired of bottom plate flipping I gave up for awhile. I hope in sept when I can get a reline it will solve the problem.

Didn't get a reline, got a few spots ground down on the bottom, they still flip unless I fill the lower plate with Fixodent, thinking of going to a place that fixes screwed up bottoms, have bought 4 tubes & seabound since march and they all such, my idiot dentist knows I don't wear them much cause I talk funny I guess after 6 months  YOU shouldn't have any problems I only wear them maybe 3 to 4  days a wk.

TRY EZO DENTURE CUSHIONS, its as close as you're going to get. Trust me I know how sucky it is to not have cushion grip anymore, i used it all the time and loved it. Well try this, its not $20,000,000 like  those robbers are charging on amazon. search ezo on google and then hit images and look at the cushions, they are only $4. its not exactly the same but trust me they help soooo much. Good luck guys!

I like Ezo, but it does not seem to be helping, now that my dentist put a soft relining on my upper and lower. Seems like every three days, these get looser than the day before. I have been able to purchase 6 boxes of EZO at a time, for uppers and lowers. Even though this product helps when I need it most, I would still like to see the Cushion Grip product be back onto store shelves. To many of you seem to find that product as the best solution to a less stressful life.
I was surfing the internet and found a lawsuit against Fixodent awhile back. It seems to have been due to the zinc in it and caused some major health issues in people. Excedrin had a recall and was off the shelf for a few years, BUT IT DID RETURN TO STORE SHELVES WITH HIGH DEMANDS FOR THEM TO BRING IT BACK. So it is po $ible to see Cushion Grip or a similar item name that will help many in need of it. Www.PetitionsOnline.com. is a good place to write up a detailed petition.

Becky, I too have the implants (first posts) and am waiting for my gums to heal for the final procedure. Do you have any suggestions for me as to how to make sure I am keeping these posts clean?  And yes, I would try your product if it happens.

I would like to say hunger and pain are two necessary evils. Without hunger we would not know we are hungry. Without pain we would not know if we were alive. But for some one to increase, prolong, and gain unreasonable monetary compensation from these demise. Is either heartless or evil.  If the shoe were on the other foot would they wear it?

Last night I was doing some research on Cushion Grip and found that Bayer has actually purchased the division of Merk Laboratories that previously produced Cushion Grip.

After locating the contact us button I proceeded to write a length letter requesting that this product be brought back. I informed them that they would only have to take a look at this forum to know how big of a hit they would be.

ANYONE WANTING TO CONTACT SOMEONE ABOUT THIS COMING BACK NEEDS TO CONTACT BAYER

Thank you Diana! When I originally read through this whole thread I did see where you had listed the contact info. However, I wasn't sure if you had info for Bayer or for Merk. I certainly wasn't trying to step on any toes, I was just letting people know who to contact!

I spoke with my dentist today and she said that the next best thing according to her patients is the EZO pads (someone else mentioned those before too )

I have never used Cushion Grip, but I did stop and buy some EZO pads. Unfortunately I forgot that you have to buy 2 separate boxes so I only would l wound up with the bottoms. That's OK since the bottoms ate the troublesome ones anyway.

You are fine, no toe stepping here.  I just thought you had not seen the whole thread where we talked about it.

You missed a great product. Best of luck.

Bless u for ur persistence with trying to get Cushion Grip back. I didn't know until just now that it's been discontinued. I live in Canada & used Cushion Grip for at least 25 years. I lost my teeth to illness at a young age & had horrible pain wearing dentures. Cushion Grip was such a blessing. I wondered what happened when no drug stores were carrying it anymore. I've used my last tube. OMG I can't get new dentures I'm on disability pension. I will start calling Bayer & Merck until they get their act together. If anyone has any suggestions for the meantime.....HELP. U can reach me at nellabrown770@hotmail.com.

I love Fixodent products. I have Fixodent gum care and Fixodent powder. Both are awesome! I use the gumcare if I am going to be out all day. It superglues my dentures. I use fixodent powder if I am needing to get the dentures out before it's time. they still hold great but there is no gunk.
