Please make a product comparable to Cushion Grip

We have a special need for a product that Merk Lab has discontinued called Cushion Grip. They only sold the product at CVS and then complained it didn't sell enough. I used to go and buy up every tube they had. They started selling the 1oz tube for $3.99 when I was buying it then it went up to $7.99 which I thought was pretty expensive but I have to use it everythime I want to eat because my bottom gums are so sensitive. The plastic stays soft while you eat. Fixodent only tries to make the denture stay in place but does nothing for the cushioning. I bought Cushion Grip for $26.00 a tube and could no longer afford it. Right now on Amazon it is selling for $80.00 tube...4 for $255.00. I would say your marketing department should get on the ball and start making a comparable product because their is a need for this product. I have used it for years and my dentist recommended I keep using it because my gums are so sensitive. I have told many people about it and they are happy with the results. PLEASE MAKE THIS PRODUCT or I and many more people will be eating baby food. You should make a fortune and please make bigger tubes than 1oz. Please send this to your marketing dept.

I used cushion grip twice when I first got my dentures. I didn't find it to be soft. It was soft when first applied but after a few hours it hardened. Yes you can wear it for a few days but it is hell trying to get it off the denture. Its very simular to a reline.

you need to soak your denture in warm water for 5 mins before putting them in.  The cushion grip softens and it is awesome.  I'm distraught right now since they're stopped making it grrrrr

It's like a soft reline...  I wear mine for 4-5 days and clean my dentures as usual. When taking it off you can either just peel it off or soak it in warm water first.

It never peeled off for me. Took me over an hour with repeated soaking in hot water to scrape little bits off.

I went looking on Merck website and after a small run around, found a number that we NEED to bombard with calls. That is how a company figures out that its product is needed. I am 58 and have had FULL false teeth since I was 25. This product was a godsend for me to get back to eating again. I used everything on the market years past, to hold them. Then I found cushion grip!!! I TOLD EVERYONE about it and even bought the first tube for many. I promise I have sold many thousands of tubes!!! I will CALL that company EVERY WEEK for the next YEAR or more, until they bring it back! If you really want it back, I suggest you and your family and friends do the same. WE are the ones that can get that product back on store shelves soon if we pull together, so I ask you all, how important is it to you? The squeaky wheel gets the grease!!! Their number is 1-800-317-2165 m-f, 8a-5p CST. I and my LARGE family will take this fight to their doorsteps today!! Please join me to get cushion back to us!

Merck was bought out by Bayer. That is why the product has been discontinued. We must tell Bayer how important this product is to us all that need it.

Bayer did not discontinue it, Merck did to streamline the company just before the sale. Companies do that to make it more attractive to buyers. SO, if they stop making it, what's to say ANOTHER company buys it from them and makes it their self?? Another thing we can do is get on the doorsteps of these other companies and push for them to take it over!!! It needed better ads and a dentist office is a great way to help get the word out about how great it is for the people that can not afford to get their teeth relined every other year. As some of us get older, we need it more often due to bone loss happening faster. As a great way for them to retain clients loyalty, is to offer it to them giving them time to save up to get the reline! It is a win, win for ALL sides. Fixodent was the only other thing that held BUT, did not help take away the pain or hold as I lost more bone. Thus, we all had to look again to find something to help so we could eat again. I may not be the smartest cookie in the bag but, IF they took over making it, WOW! It would be the best of both worlds for them and us!! THEY TOO, would retain their clients and grow MUCH bigger to recoup the cost faster. Then they could hire part time people like us in many smaller towns to get the word out! BUT, they HAVE to be the ones that use it!!! Medical cost keeps going up and that goes for dentist cost too. This way we all work as a team for loyalty, money, and a great product!!! How do you feel about that idea?

Please get cushion grip back at a price people can afford, $389.00 a tube is highway robbery!!!!!!! Even 30.00 a tube is but it would be a better price than the first one listed, absolutely ridiculous.

You need to call 8003314536. Bayer healthcare. They bought merck &Co .the lady said that when they bought the company cushion grip was already off the market so they didn't have the righs to the product. The marketing is getting all our info .I told the lady to tell the marketing department to look on the website and they will see all the people that need this product and to go to youtube. She said they were getting all kinds of phone calls to. Please call this number so they will either buy the rights to market it or figure out a way to make it. I told her that right now I can't wear my bottom teeth because of confort.

I found it very simple to use as long as you follow the directions to the letter. And as far as removing the stuff you just have to soak them in hot water & it peels right off. I've used it for years & also had trouble in the beginning soo... But this info is pretty mute being they stopped making it... SHM.

I just had to pay $65 per tube for two tubes!  I can't afford this!  I had to put it on my credit card, but because I have a flat palate, this is the only product that I can keep on my denture that fixodent will stick to to keep the denture in my mouth!  Without it I can't go out in public or to work!  I desperately need this at a price that I can afford!  Please!

I'm just curious how they compare?

Please start making it again, I have turned so many people on to this stuff and they are very displeased that it is no longer around, if you have to, raise the price a little, people are selling it on amazon for $399.00 a tube, this is unreal!! Please reconsider your decision. A lot of people are counting on you to do the right thing.

I just found this stuff on facebook, plastimake. I am going to buy some and see what happens. It is non toxic and if you don't put it in cold water it may stay soft. I'll let you know. http://www.plastimake.com/

I would be really leary of something that wasn't designed for wearing in your mouth. Just because it is non toxic doesn't really mean that you SHOULD keep it in your mouth that lomg.

For example, Crayola crayons are non toxic, but they probably shouldn't be consumed.

Just my 2 cents worth, bit I would like to see FDA APPROVED on it

Plastimake is NOT safe, just read the MSDS! It is so bad they want you to contact them OR get special approval to dispose of it. You need to wear gloves, mask and goggles with it. Not something I want in my mouth.

P S they have found crayons contain a higher lead count then is allowed. They are made in china......

Same thing here, Patti and Charlene, since Cushion Grip was discontinued, I've been looking for my 84 year old mother. The pricing on eBay and Amazon is outrageous. I would certainly call it price gouging! The cheapest I have seen it on eBay is $57. for 1 oz and up to $579.87 for a 4pk of 1 oz tube. And on Amazon, $116. (1oz) to $649.99 (for a 6 pk of 1 oz tubes).

I have to agree a product that everyone uses for their Dentures should not have been taken off the market , there are so many people counting on cushion grip everyone who was used to it for many many years now is left scrambling for a similar product , Amazon is selling it for hundreds of dollars for one ounce tubes , if it was not a product that did not sell why is Amazon selling it for 4 tubes $ 455.00 , are all the pharmaceutical companies blind and deaf , does anyone else see this it is it just me ..?? There has to be a company out there can duplicate this product .... I'm reaching out to anyone who will listen to me ....
Disappointed in New York ...
Thanks for listening

Debbie, if you go to dentaldistortions.com and look for the thermoplastic beads, they'll provide you with what you need. they specialize in Halloween fangs, and thye use the thermoplastic to attach them. It's the same as cushion grip, but in bead form. just put them in very warm water and presto!
They are $2.50 a bag for white and $3.00 a bag in pink.  Here's the link.  http://dental-distortions-shopify.myshopify.com/products/thermoplastic-fitting-beads-white

David: You claim the thermo beads are the same as CG? I did not have that experience. When I tried them they became very rigid. Yes easy to melt and mold, but then became too hard. The unique part of CG is how it retains its "rubbery- ness" and maintains a soft barrier between denture and gums.

Sharon...I guess it's a matter of taste. when I used the beads I put my dentures in while they were still warm. the result wa a good, tight fit, with a minimum of Fixodent. to be clear, I'm a saxophone player, and have been playing with both upper and lower dentures since the late 80's.  the tight fit is better for me as a player.  I know the cushion grip gives you a bit of  spongy feel ( I've been using it off and on since they first started selling it), but I'm not fond of having a sponge between my dentures and my horn.    I finally got a perfect fit, along with a metal late inside the roof of my uppers, to prevent the piece splitting (it did twice over the years) and simply use Fixodent Plus to secure them. It works well for me. My prosthodontist knew I needed a tight, comfortable fit, and that's what he gave me.

Jenn has been working a full-time job, working on Comfort Lining full-time, AND taking care of her 2 children.

If you don't want to buy it, don't. But these dispariging remarks about her an what she is doing are unnecessary!

Instead of constantly complaining, she is doing something to try to help.

She has been sending out samples FREE OF CHARGE and is including free shipping all over the world. The increase in price is to help offset those costs. Twenty dollars a tube is FAR from the over inflated prices you are seeing on Amazon and eBay!

Thank you Jenn for your continued efforts to help out with a much needed prodict! Especially when you are being met by so many negative responses.

If everyone would just read this entire thread and took note on the support that others received when they mention trying to produce a similar produvt, they might humble themselves enough to thank you as well!

P.s. another reason hee price is higher is that she doesn't have a corporation back her up.

Thank you Heather!

I'm going to find the thread that someone else was stating that she was going to attempt to make a similar product and see if any of the people that are complaining about Jenn's product were supporting the other woman. I'm curious if there are any hypocrites on here.

Have any of you bothered to get to know Jenn? I have. I won't think twice of trying this product. Heck, I wouldn't think twice of going to her house for dinner!

I guess it's easier to complain about not having a product than it is to try something different.

Yes, I agree with all the positive comments.
Every single post on here has been someone begging for a replacement to CG. Jenna has done what no one else has and is trying to get a product similar like CG out to those of us who want it. Her price is not outrageous or out of line with what we should expect. I am certainly willing to pay that price.
I mentioned that her website (at the time I went there) wasn't secure enough for CC payments. She kindly responded to me that she is/was working on getting her site to be secure with SSL and did have Paypal.
I didn't request a free sample, so am depending on those who have to give us the skinny on whether it works :). If all testing turns out ok I will definitely be ordering Jenn's new product.
Jenna needs our support and thanks, NOT negative criticism.

Goal is there is to have one of the universities to analyze what is in the Product & to make sure it is completely safe for all of us to use this could be a great great thing to put those gouging Companies on eBay and Amazon in their place charging hundreds of dollar!
Even at $20-$25 this place that is now selling comfort line will make money I'm good with those prices of the longest everything in the ingredients is not harmful that is the only question now many universities welcome these Chyna chances for their students to investigate

Charlene, I'm sure that you will find a college to do as you ask. Just be sure to let them know that the creator, Jenn, has a patent pending. I'm not sure of the legalities involved and I would hate to see you, as well as anyone else that is involved, get in any legal trouble.

Have you personally emailed Jemn and asked her directly?

Prior to disability I also spent ten years working in health and life insurance. I understand having people only happy if they are ticked off. But I also know that when you are trying to do a good thing and constantly met with adversity eventually you may be tempted to give up.

I do NOT want Jenn to give up because people are making life so hard for her!

I'm So Disappointed in Comfort Lining! I finally tried it and couldn't get it to flow at alll no matter what temperature it was. All I got were gelatinous globs--that wouldn't even stay on my denture! Maybe I got a bad batch because it didn't flow like they said it would and there's no way I can try this because the globs won't even stick to my denture. I emailed Comfort Lining's website for help. I was so thrilled that Jenn was able to do this and, as I said, hopefully, I got a bad batch.

Anyone else have this experience??And Happy Holidays my friends1

As skeptical as some have been about you, I can't imagine anyone just jumping on board with this product.

Thankfully Jenn kept up her hard work and didn't succumb to the people with bad attitudes, to make this product available! There have already been so many good comments that I believe she will be able to make a household name for herself!

Keep up the great work my friend! Before long you could be ready to apply to go on Shark Tank!

No Charles, I haven't tried it as a liner yet but only because I have not worn my teeth since last Thursday. I had a hard reline done and the made the top so thick and sharp that I will need to do some gentle filing before I can wear them. I also have been under the weather so haven't been up to putting them in.

When I first received my tube I took a bit of it and placed over a bone that is growing in the wrong direction just to see if it would cause any allergic reactions and it didn't. I had never used Cushion Grip though, so can't compare it.

I'm just learning and trying different things as I go.

Happy Holidays!

The allergies or something I have to really worry about I'm allergic to Tylenol closest my throat up I've had to open-heart surgeries and have an aneurysm so I'm very cautious what I use I need to hear from other people before I actually put it in my mouth

I'm in the same boat when it comes to different things (medicine, supplements, adhesives, etc.) That was another reason that I tried a small amount in my mouth.

Like with adhesives, I'm not allergic to latex and medical tape (including Band-Aids) as long as the are on me. However, when it's removed I get a welt as big as can be. It can even be non-allergenic. I'm allergic to fish oil, but not fish or Omega. I'm deathly allergic to Omnicef, but nor other antibiotics in the same class.

Just a little information on what's been being posted lately:
I Googled the product that Eric posted about. It IS a legitimate product made by a major Pharmaceutical company in Japan.
http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/zagzag/item/g4987087041392/?s-id=borderless_browsehist_en

The translation is a bit messy but it gets the point across.
It costs $10(USD) for a 1 oz tube, just like Cushion Grip charged. I also checked the ingredients and they are rated a 3 (1 being acceptable through 10 as highly toxic) by the Environmental Working Group's gauge of toxic ingredients and approved by the US FDA as acceptable as a food additive. I trust EWG far more than our own FDA on most anything right now, but Canada just upped Polyvinyl Acetate on their toxicity list so they apparently have found out something adverse that we don't know or won't admit to yet.

The ingredients are not why this product isn't allowed to be sold in the US.  It's mainly an import/export issue, since foreign Pharmaceuticals are pretty much banned in the US, due to our strict and highly enforced trade laws on drugs. Of course, we don't really see this as a "pharmaceutical product" but we sell a lot of things over the counter here in the US, that other countries are far more strict about.

So for those interested,(unless he has already) I highly doubt Eric can send any of that product to us. Mostly because it has to go through US Customs/DEA and I don't know if they would allow that. You do have to declare what you are shipping and they do open and inspect packages and will confiscate anything questionable.

As far as people fearing the ingredients of the Japanese version, does anyone KNOW what Cushion Grip was made from? CG says "a" Thermodynamic Plastic, but that doesn't really tell all the ingredients since plain Thermodynamic Plastic does not work the same as Cushion Grip. The ingredients are NOT listed anywhere on the tube, box or instructions. Googling for the ingredients does not come up with an acceptable answer, either. So what's to say Cushion Grip isn't/wasn't made out of the same material as the Japanese product?
We just assume ours is "safe" because we put a lot of trust in our government to not allow someone to sell us something harmful, which isn't always the case, considering all the recalls after something has been approved by the FDA.
Maybe Cushion Grip was really discontinued because of the ingredients.

So hopefully for us, Jenn's version will be SAFE and pass all the tests needed to be able to sell it publicly.

Cushion grip does have benzene in it just very dangerous after long-term use at least it does not have zinc which Iis even worst

I did find an article where they were trying to recall these products because they cause leukemia after a few years

The price I saw was $3.99 but I don't know how to change the price to American. I am happy Jenn got her product on the market. I ordered two tubes and as a senior $50.00 was pretty steep. I was hoping for less of a price. One minute begging for some then complaining about $20.00. Just can't win. Keep going Jenn!

I can't believe the people that are attacking Jen for all the work that she has done for our benefit !!!  Way to go Jen !!
(no I do not know Jen) I just believe in her

EVERYONE has been begging to have something like CG back on the market. At least Jen is doing something about it.
I would gladly put her product in my mouth and try it.  A previous post also stated that CG doesn't have a list of there ingredients anywhere in there packaging. Yet we buy & use sight unseen....  I have used it for 10 yrs now.
So what if  Jen's is in a white tube?? Maybe she is just trying to get it out on the market first before she starts deciding on a label design.
I wouldn't waste time on the design right now either. Need people to use
It. I'm up for clinical trials for lack of a better word. After using the "MADE IN THE USA" home reline kits.  Send me some of Jens product. Since "CG" has been taken off the market. I can only eat soft foods now. Can't even eat corn on the cob... Didn't have that problem with CG. And I'm hoping Jen's product will work the same!!
I will be in heaven again and put back a few pounds that I've lost because I can't eat like I did. I can't afford to loose anymore either. 58 & 110lb isn't good.

.. Japan & China have been shipping things to the US forever.  Look how many toys that they have recalled because there "lead" is contaminating our children.... Dog food that is killing our dogs.  ETC!!!!!!!!!The list goes on...
My POINT.
"Prosoft"  denture reline kits.... I tried. The chemical taste and smell is so strong you can't even enjoy a cracker it is so overwhelming. SO I decided to look for the ingredients on the box
" METHACRYLATE"  IS one of the major ingredients.
I haven't seen anyone complaining about them.??? "FDA APPROVED"
You need to look up the  "Material Safety Data Sheet" (msds for short)

 Methyl methacrylate MSDS http://avogadro.chem.iastate.edu/msds/methyl_methacrylate.htm
Methyl methacrylate MSDS  http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9927360s
Yet NO ONE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THESE. OH YAH MADE IT THE USA SO THERE SAFE????????????????????????????????????//
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carol,

I had no problem at all with my tube. Everything worked exactly the same as Cushion Grip.
maybe your tube was defective?
I actually like Comfort lining better, it dries quicker and its very firm, but yet soft.
I have been wearing one application over a week now.

Susan Robertson-Bruce, I'm not sure what adhesive you are using, but if it contains zinc, it is important to use denture adhesives as directed. Excessive and prolonged zinc intake is reported to be associated with serious health problems. Consult a doctor if using other products containing zinc.it is important to use it only as directed on the label. Thanks!

I have no desire to become a part of the Japanese/ Cushion Correction vs Comfort Lining battle. I believe everyone has a right to their opinion and not be attacked for their views. We should be able to share factual information. I'm on neither side, which there shouldn't be sides, I know no one here. Cushion Correction is NOT being black marketed into the US. I ordered it direct from the company in Japan. It went through customs both exiting Japan and then in New York when it entered the US and then delivered right to my door. People need to ask questions, kindly, when they don't know the answer. This would be much better then just making things up. Sorry, if this upsets some and I refuse to engage in a battle here. I believe our FDA and government have allowed many manufacturers to harm all of us health wise.

What kind of mean spirited person invests literally hours upon hours creating fake profiles for the sole purpose of stalking someone? Timothy Ruhl does. Or one of your many profiles that you hide behind. What is the matter with you? You are one special kind viscious. For the DANS members that rally around this kind of behaviour, is TimR really the type of person you want everyone you know IRL know you associate with? Guilty by association.

I have been using this product for years and never had that problem.  It is not like a reline.  It is to be used once a day then soak for a few minutes in warm water and it will come right off.  I use it sometimes twice a day so it will continue to be soft.  I cannot eat without it.

It seems like to me since hardly anyone has a lower plate that ALLOWS EATING it's a great way for these companies to make money since MOST new dentures people try 3+ products trying to get one. I finally almost filled my lower with Fixodent and it seems to work if I eat baby size bites of food,I should lose weight cause I get tired of taking so long to eat,I'm alot faster without teeth

PLEASE SOMEBODY MAKE A PRODUCT THAT IS SIMILAR TO CUSHION GRIP!!!! I'm desperate. I can't afford new dentures and this is the only product that works for me. I certainly cannot afford the $300 plus dollars that Amazon is asking. This was a great product and I'm extremely upset that it is off the market.

I too have used cushion grip for years. I needed the cushion and the fit. I have left it in my dentures for months at a time. So you can imagine how long it took to go thru a tube. This past month I needed a new tube. Much to my surprise at
$300 & up.  There is another product out there called "prosoft" Works alot like cushion grip. Stays soft. It has a terrible taste to it. Says you can soak it in baking soda for 30 min. NOT ! Doesn't make food taste very good. IT IS NOT CUSHION GRIP !!!! I swore by cushion grip and also told everyone about it. Sure saved my mouth from alot of pain.
I wish they'd bring it back !

I hadn't been able to do that since I got dentures. Please, Please put it back on the market. A Little advertising would probably get it going really good.

I emailed Bayer on Facebook and this is what they said "Hi Charlene, thanks for contacting us. We are in touch with our colleagues and will also forward this link to them. We will get back to you as soon as we receive their feedback. Thank you*********************  ( i just emailed to them about the price gouging on amazon and Ebay .. if they are not making the product then how is amazon and Ebay getting it and taking a $6.00 product for one ounce and now asking over $100.00 an ounce ...

Charlene: Thanks for helping us get Bayer's attention about Cushion Grip. I have posted links to Facebook and Twitter and added a phone number(provided by Roxanne) to help us all contact them. Let's all keep at it.

How to contact Bayer:

https://www.facebook.com/healthcare.bayer
https://twitter.com/BayerHealthCare

Bayer OTC Dept: (412) 777-2000

As far as WHY Amazon and Ebay have Cushion Grip is because there are some very savvy sellers on Amazon and Ebay, who buy up products that are being discontinued in order to resell it to others at a massive profit. They are called "Profiteers". The scarcity of the product is often attributed to their buying huge amounts of the product off shelves in stores. They also spend time finding out what products are being discontinued and then buy up a company's leftover stock or go to stores and buy it all off the shelf.
So it isn't that "Amazon and Ebay getting it" from some mysterious manufacturer, it's because the Profiteers are doing what they do to make lots of money. And sadly for those who are forced to buy from them it is terrible. But as far as I know, it's not illegal for a private party to charge whatever they want for a product.  In this case they have no competition so they don't need to keep prices down. If someone wants something bad enough they will pay whatever it takes.
Not sure any Attorney General would get involved since it's pretty small potatoes involved. But Ebay does make a profit on higher prices so maybe that would be an issue, but I doubt it since people sell pieces of toast that resemble religious figures on eBay for insane prices too. I think "buyer beware" is the standard rule on eBay and Amazon.

Think I can that would be legal right ? Was worried about calling cushion grip but yet that's how everyone will get attention when I get home I'll try to change it Facebook will probably have to approve it or I can just start a whole new wall

Well maybe just keep the "s" on it. Or put the s in parentheses? Since it's not being made anymore, I do wonder what the legality of just using the name would be? It's not like we're trying to sell something with the same name.
And we have been using the name over and over already on here, but best to do what you feel comfortable with.  It's just a matter of getting the Cushion Grip people on here to go there, instead.

Hi AliciaP. Thanks for the compliment. You have also done a lot to help, so thanks for that.  If you are interested we do have a new Facebook page(much thanks to Charlene) to try and get Bayers attention. You can post comments and check on updates or comments from Bayer, if they respond.
If you are on Facebook you can "follow" the page by just "liking" it.

I have a sample tube but have not used it yet.

I'm not sure why your email bounced back. I just sent an email to the address and didn't have any problems.

As for the price, I just realized that it was drastically increased as well. Perhaps she found that she needed to increase the price due to her cost?!?

Hopefully she will get my email and post about the price.

I sent for a sample when she offered to send them out, but never received the sample. I would like to try the different options. I have tried prosoft and secure. They are not bad and I plan to try the product Eric had been telling us about. I feel I need to keep trying everything I can until I find something suitable for me or else my dentures will end up in my night stand for good.

My elderly dad and I used cushion grip for several years. The last one I purchased on eBay wa $12.00 which shocked me because I had been paying $8.00. Now since 2014 they stopped making it and anyone who could get their hand on it are really price gouging. I would pay more but cannot afford $100.00 or more for just one tube. Gee I sure would love to see someone start making it again or something comparable.

2 years ago my husband bought a tube in Vegas at CVS for 8.00. Now amazon is selling it as high as 1000.00!. My sister brought it to my attention because she can't find it anymore so I've been looking. Nothing under 200.00 ridiculous

PLEASE bring it back.  If you check the denture sites there are thousands of us that use it -  just on the forums.  The problem was that it was hard to find.  The only place I would find it was CVS and then I'd have to wait 2 months before they got any more in.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have used Cushion Grip for years and so did my mother.   I have bone loss especially the top front.   I used it mostly for the cushion.  Without it my sinuses suffer greatly and I am afraid of the sinus wall becoming injured :(   I am not a good candidate for implants ) My dentist was very impressed when he saw the job this product did.   I used to order 6 tubes at a time online and was SHOCKED to see it being sold for $70 to $80 a tube!!   Now I am out and don't know what I am going to do :(
Please put it back on the market!

Stephanie were you able to get any info on a similar product like cushion grip. It's a good product .when I used it it gave a good cushion and it took away the pain I would have with my dentures. Please talk to who ever you need to talk to so they can make cushion grip. You see all these comments these are the people that will buy this product. If you go on ebay or Amazon those greedy people are selling it anywhere from $60 to $400 dollars. They new people needed it and figured we would pay that. It's ridiculous the price. Please help us.

Thank you for hearing us--You've got a proven market here!! So please bring back Cushion Grip. It's the only thing that keeps my dentures from falling out. Is there anything else we as consumers can do to make this happen--and quickly. I just scraped up the ends of the last three tubes I had because that's the only way I can wear my dentures.

A few of us on a different denture site were even thinking of trying to manufacture it ourselves--getting funds from the public through kickstarter. Someone else had the good suggestion of going on Shark Tank TV Show to try to get backing to manufacture it again. We don't know what the patent situation and the formula but we're definitely investigating.

BTW, fixodent is the only denture cream I use--unfortunately it doesn't secure my denture in my mouth for more than a few hours--have to reapply later if I eat again!

It's so sad that pretty much everyone who has dentures that make it impossible to eat anything but baby food and baby bites. No wonder NO ONE wants us to get relief, this way you pay and try every adhesive on the shelf or get new dentures or learn what you or can't eat with others then when home take them out so you can taste and eat your food. I hope the reline I get soon will be a miracle and it fits etc.

Any of the "denture creams" that claim "hold all day "   NOT
Cushion Grip is the only product that I found works.
I have tried "denture reline-it by dentists on call" And a couple of other products that have claimed to be like cushion grip... The smell alone is enough to make you sick.  They smell like a paint shop that left a bottle of turpentine open.
the taste was even worse.
SO I to am back to having no lowers to enjoy that good steak.
What will it take to get cushion grip back on the market ?
We have been complaining for a long time.  I keep seeing that it has been sent to the product team... well................

At the very least, go to www.wonderdrug.com and start emailing them through the Contact us tab.

If everyone emails them and puts Cushion Grip in the subject line, perhaps we can get somewhere.

Mark it on your calendar and email them weekly.

Hi Joan,

I purchased some from www.amazon.com but I got my first tube from http://www.securedenture.com/

Check both places for prices. It is sometimes cheaper on Amazon but they run sales on their site sometimes as well.

If you Google (or are looking on Amazon) just type in Secure Denture Adhesive. You will see that it claims that it is sold at Walmart, CVS, as well as other stores unfortunately the Walmart in my area doesn't carry it and I don't think there are any CVS stores any where near where I live.

Just so you know, I haven't run our of my first tube yet, I just ordered a tube of the sensitive. I am a big fan of the strips for my lowers as I have a small mouth and I like their cleaning tabs - you only need half a tab and it lifts the stuff right off.

Just remember to NOT rinse any gobs down the drain. It isn't water soluble so it may cause clogs.

You may discover that you won't need it at all once you get more accustomed to Jenn's product. I'm using the Secure right now because they REALLY screwed up my dentures when they did the hard reline. The dentist took them around and was showing everone. She said she had never seen that happen. I guess the mold shifted or got twisted before they were cured. That was the Thursday before Christmas, the office was then closed for 2 weeks and I had surgery on the 6th. Lucky me, when I went in on the 5th it just so happened that the lab tech that screwed up my teeth and another lab tech were either terminated or quit. Either way, until this coming Wednesday I have no choice but to "Super Glue" (aka Secure ) my teeth in as best as I can.

Good luck and make sure you watch YouTube videos about how to apply Secure!

I was able to leave mine is sometimes for a couple of months. It definitely made my dentures fit so secure and no pain. It was definitely a bear to get out. But careful soaking in hot water and a bit of tugging and pulling it would come out.

Denise, when did you get your dentures? Did you let your dentist know what is going on with your bottom dentures? It may be that you need an adjustment. You shouldn't be experiencing this much pain. Thanks.

Charlene, you are absolutely right!

Such deplorable behavior towards my friends will no longer be acknowledged.

If he takes the hint then he will go away. If he doesn't, then he can continue talking and having it land on deaf ears!

Unfortunately opinions are like butt holes - everyone has one, some just smell worse than others! (And THAT will be the very last acknowledgement of his existence)

Eric. You need to be mindful of who you are condescending to. Just because you can quote in Latin doesn't make you intelligent.

Look, I can quote shit too.  Google is your friend.

aut viam inveniam aut faciam

non omnis moriar

crede quod habes, et habes

dulce bellum inexpertis

absentem laedit cum ebrio qui litigat

PS: you don't sound American enough to be believable.

Just saying . . .

  • Ok people. STOP! This petty garbage that is coming across here has got to end. This forum is to inform and help each other, NOT what is going on now! Community powered support for DentureLiving!!!!! Nowhere does it say that we are to pick on others because we don't like what they say, we ALL have the right to pass by or drop what we don't believe is correct! Just because you are friends with someone does not make it right to talk bad about anything anyone else says. It is about INFOMATION ONLY!!!

  • HOW DO YOU THINK THIS PETTY BACKBITTING IS HELPING ANYONE? ALL it is doing is chasing away others that just find us AND who may have great info that would help most of us. THIS is NOT about who got their feeling hurt from something someone said!!!! THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THIS KIND OF CRAP!!!!!! If you are unhappy here, PLEASE leave so the rest of us can get help that we came here for. Grow up!!!!

If you jump on me for this post, it just shows what I am talking about! Last time I looked, this IS on the NET for anyone to become a member, American or NOT!!

STOP!

Diana, if you are referring to anything that I've said, please take a moment to read just exactly what my posts have been. I asked Eric legit questions on numerous threads. Every single one has been met by a snarky comment and insults towards the one person that was trying to help us, who is in fact my friend that I met on here.

Has it gotten out of hand? Absolutely! Which is why you will find that I have stated I will no longer acknowledge any posts from him.

I am a grown woman with the right to freedom of speech and yet I simply repeated questions that continue to go unanswered. My comment about opinions and butt holes? A result of a very tiresome fight for information.

Moving on now.....

I"m very sorry to see what this Forum has become. The back biting and name calling, etc has gotten childish and typical of the degradation of so many Forums. Free speech also comes with responsibilities of civility and I am seeing that falling apart on here. This was intended to be a resource for information regarding dentures and not a soap box for patriotism and racism.  I will no longer participate with this group as I don't have time reading the petty name calling and bigotry.
Thank you to Jenn, Charlene, Eric and others who have offered and discussed positive solutions for the many questions and complaints on here and I wish them success with the products they are making and have found, so far.
Best regards
Sharon

You know what Sharon, you stay and I'll go.

Thank you to all who have helped me and I am happy to have helped some of you!

If there are so many people that would rather sit back and watch while others attempt to bully away the true, honest people that actually DO answer questions instead of trying to baffle with BS, like 'ERIC' does then this is not where I want to be!

I've enjoyed making new friends and plan to keep in touch with them.

Thank you Charlene! I hope you will keep in touch!

And Sharon, if you are calling me racist, a bigot and anything other than a CIVIL PATRIOTIC WOMAN. maybe you should know something /ANYTHING about me before you make these statements!

Why don't you re-read my posts and then email me what I have said that allows you to judge me!

I'm not done going through my emails yet, so Iay not be done. But when they are gone, don't worry, I will be too! I will be looking for your email though, letting me know just exactly how I'm a racist!

Alicia P.:No one, including me, is calling YOU a racist. I am just sick of reading this ongoing battle with Eric. The taunting and snark and, for whatever reason, acts of singling him out and disparaging his attempt at mentioning a product made in Japan is just shear cyber bullying. His response has become defensive in return.
Other people have mentioned other products on here, without a similar response, and I am curious why that is.
Alicia, if you are offended by my comment then I am sorry for that and hope you will accept my apology, as nothing I said was intentionally directed toward you, personally.
Best regards and good luck to you and everyone on here, in your search for pain free dentures.

Sharon, the ONLY ongoing battle that I have had with Eric was to get simple answers to simple questions 1. How much does it cost? 2. What if I run out, can I legally obtain more? 3. Is it safe? 4. What recourse would I have if I had a serious reaction to it? (assuming my er Dr didn't read Japanese )

I have asked these questions til I was blue in the face and STILL DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWERS.

When he began attacking my friend, nagging her for information that would not affect his health, that's when I started taking offense, and yet I continued to bite my tongue and ask the same questions. It was when I posted that I would be ignoring him, the way he seemed to be treating me, that it hit the fan. My post about butt holes and opinions is no different than him posting his little Latin phrases. However, while I agreed with his Latin phrase, my statement was net with a link to a bidet. I kept my cool and took the high road.

Anyone is welcome to email me.

Sharon, I thank you for your apology and happily accept it.

My grandson was climbing all over me when I typed the post in directly below your post, so I needed to hit send. But felt it important enough to not only acknowledge but also accept your apologies.

I do hope that you keep in touch.

As I have learned with Facebook, if you don't like the comment or disagree--just scroll. Personally, I want to hear about all new products and experiences with them. I really appreciate this site and thank fixodent for letting us use their forum. I also want to thank all of you for your useful information about dentures. Dentures at best for me are an unpleasant fact of life.

I agree! The reason people are is the figure out their options! I have ordered the new Comfort Living & it's not for me- end of story! I have takin Eric up on the product he found! I got goose bumps when I opened up the product- it looks & feels the same as Cushion Grip!!! I haven't used it yet- just got it today & will be trying it in morning! I was to the point of ordering food safe silicone molding putty/material!! I did ordered 2 silicone materials, haven't received them yet. I thought what the hell I'll bite- it's only $18 for the Japanese denture adhesive product & what do I have to lose? I'm pretty sure I'll die of something else lol  I'll keep you posted on what I think of the product!

I have applied it to my lower denture; it's just like CG! But this doesn't have that little tingle when 1st applied, & has just of a light scent/taste of bubblegum. It has set up faster than CG did, after 1 hour or so & doesn't smash out & over run denture side which is really nice. Now I will see how many days I can leave it in the denture with normal overnight soaking & cleaning! So far so good with this product!

Cushion Correct EZ 30g has lasted me about 4-5days(there was a day in there I didn't wear my dentures-lazy day at home!). I have noticed that when I soak them in fizzy tab at night, little bubbles form in the cushion. I just pop them & carry on w/ my day! just weird- doesn't affect it any tho! your computer will translate the website- you may have to find the translate button- but it's there!! I have ordered 6 tubes of Cushion Correct EZ 30g through the website- http://item.rakuten.co.jp/shopsoleil/1084074/. I also ordered 1 tube of a different kind that look the same, but different lable(http://item.rakuten.co.jp/shopsoleil/10091709/) I'll see if these are the same & let ever1 know. The store I worked with is so great & basically walks you right through the process! I didn't use paypal, I just went with the credit card through the store! Visa does have 0 liability so your not responsible for charges you don't make!! All together it costed 8877yen which is $74.72us & breaks down to $10.67 for 7 tubes. But my card statement is showing $62.41us($8.92/tube) so I will have to see the invoice in the box!
