Received my Cushion lining

Took awhile to get in the mail. Almost 2 weeks, but it was expected, as the website states it takes 10 days.
Comfort lining works just like cushion grip. It actually holds my dentures in better than cushion grip did. It's better padding. Since, I've had my dentures for over 20 years now, i have lost so much bone in my mouth.
This girl is a smart cookie!! She needs to go on Shark tank!
Thank you Comfort lining

I haven't received mine yet but she is a smart cookie and she has given me so much information. I really like this forum because everyone is so kind. Well besides that Eric guy who keeps harassing comfort lining. But I love it

who is the she you are referring to?  Are cushion grips instead of the adhesive pastes/gel?   I am still in my immediates and have not been back to the dentist since the surgery Dec. 9th.  My dentist told me 3 months is when I should come back to be evaluated for the progress/healing for the permanent ones.  I wanted the snap in type of uppers but they had to do a lot of bone grafts and I will need a scan to be sure they can still do the snap ins.

And I thought I was the only one who hadn't been back! Oops! Actually I went back once to let them make sure everything was healing ok. I got to see the assistant, and all she did was adjust the dentures a little with a dremel tool and buff them a little. I don't think she looked at my gums except the very front. She did notice the front outside my upper gums was too tall and cut it down little, and fixed a problem I didn't even know I had. I just knew that it didn't feel like the dentures was touching my gums. It made a tremendous difference in the way they fit.

But to answer your question: The "she" is Jen Watson. She is selling a product she makes called "comfort lining" which is supposed to be a replacement for a discontinued product called cushion grip that nobody can find anywhere but ebay and amazon at outrageous prices. Cushion grip was a soft thermoplastic in a tube that you could heat in hot water and apply to your dentures and mold it to your gums. I guess its more  like a soft reline than an adhesive. I've not tried it.

Ken, Thank you for the detailed response.... I think I would like a product like that. Mine feel so big right now with all the healing, I am sure that is normal till the permanent dentures.

The name of the "She" that they are referring to is Jenn/Jennifer/Comfort Lining. Unfortunately she is no longer on this forum due to a difference of opinion. Jenn's opinion was more of a LET ME FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE A PRODUCT COMPARABLE TO CUSHION GRIP "; Whereas another person jumped on to the boards and has truly been trying to cram this other product down our throats, If you disregard him or this product he will CONSTANTLY berate you for thinking for yourself!

I don't know what is in either product, although eric did post a link to the ingredients (or at least some) in the japanese  product. I'm sure neither is worse than what I've used twice now. It is a kind of epoxy that you have to mix, very quickly I might add. It is flammable for one thing, and I'm concerned about the fumes, but it works.

Please excuse the profile pic... it was taken the day after 27 extractions and immediate dentures. I look like a chipmunk!

I was back at my dentist's office for adjustments at total of 5 times in the first two weeks. I haven't been back for an adjustment now since January 4. I do think I'm almost due for a soft reline though.

Ken I have also used that reline kit and the fumes are strong. Also when u put it in your mouth it stings for a bit. Plus you have to hold it in your mouth for 6 minutes. It wasn't too bad and it does work pretty well. It says it's easy to remove and it clearly wasn't. I had a really hard time taking it off. I ended up going to the dentist and they did the reline for the top and bottom. I don't have to pay for my reline because of the package I got. She says the reline should last a month or two. So hopefully it'll last like she said and I won't have to revert back to the reline kit. But so far so good and my dentures fit so well. These are my immediate dentures so in 5 months I will receive my permanents. I wonder if once you get your permanents do u have to get reline a or adjustments.

Lizzy,
Good to hear from you again! I thought you'd forsaken us. Did you see my post where I was laughing and told Alicia that I had almost forgotten that in Texas they called me a yankee? Then I asked if you weren't going to correct me... they actually called me a !@#$% yankee. lol I spent 3 years in San Antonio back in the early eighties and worked quite a bit in Austin, and a little in Corpus Christi. I still miss the fajitas from taco cabana. Up here fajitas are a big sit-down meal. Hard for people around here to believe in San Antonio I could get them at a drive-through window.

I would think you would need to get a reline for a while once you get your permanents. I wonder if soft relines are included in my package. I thought the dentist said come back in 3 or 4 weeks. The assistant said more like 3 or 4 months. I wonder if he was talking about a soft reline and she was talking about a hard reline.

Ken, at the Affordable Dentures that I'm going to all of the soft & hard relines are included. My first 4 weeks I had 5 soft relines. I've had a great deal of soft relines.

Today is a big day. They are closing the one near me, which only leaves 1 in Michigan and it's over 75 miles away from me. So I don't know what they are going to do for me. Technically, I should still be 6 months away from my permanents but since they screwed up my hard reline I've only worn my teeth 3 or 4 times because they hurt so bad!

I'm hoping that they will give me a corrected hard reline for about 3 weeks so I can get used to them all over again and then do my permanent ones, which will leave me with still a couple of weeks before they close down.

I'm not really happy about this whole thing. I'm disabled and I don't think driving to this city I've only been to once in my life is a good plan.

I'll know more in a few hours.

I meant to say I wouldn't think you would need a reline for  while after you get permanents.

Ken, thank you so much! Our prayers have been answered! I'm currently waiting for them to tell me that my mold is good so I can go get some coffee.

They are redoing my hard reline for now and then I'll come back before they close down to get my permanent dentures. I'm going with an upgrade, so I'll probably need to leave them for a couple days.

This was a corporate decision to close the location in the capital city. There will definitely be a very stern letter written telling them what I think of this.

Thanks for all of your support during this! You are right, I have been through a lot!

They actually did a wax preview/try - in for my new temps. I think because my other ones are really screwy! I pick those up tomorrow because I had a Dr appointment about 30 miles away and I wouldn't have made it in time. I can't wait to put them in and go get an egg McMuffin lol

LMBO or the one above where I was talking about them giving Alicia funny teeth if she made them mad before she got her new ones! Oh well, I have a remarkable ability to laugh at myself. Go ahead and laugh with me. A lot of you sound like you could use a little cheering up.

Lizzy, back in the eighties a lot of people were moving to Texas, mostly to work the oilfields. I went out to work with my cousin installing storm windows, doors and vinyl siding.

They called everyone who wasn't from Texas a yankee. or a ~!@#$ yankee, to be more precise. lol

Ken,

You crack me up! LMBO

I have a question for you, and anyone else that is going to Affordable Dentures. (This will be a typical "Alicia's book - length" post)

When I initially went in to get my teeth I bought the cheapest package for the new denture wearers. The teeth I received were almost exactly the same thing as the Economy teeth were and, had I not decided to upgrade, at the end of the journey I would have received a new pair of the same teeth.

When I was in earlier this week to get my doggie dentures fixed, I informed them that I would be upgrading to one of the higher quality teeth for my finals.

My question is, if I would have paid upfront for, let's say the premium package, would my immediates have been different?

I went to AD web site, and couldn't find out.

Do you know what package you paid for upfront?

I'm only asking because let me tell you, these teeth are extremely comfortable! I would have been wearing them all the time. Lol

I think I'm right about what I told you in my email!

Whatever the case, I have these now and when I get my permanent ones I expect they will be just as nice if not better!

Yeah, you would think even if they are a franchise, they would offer the same things, but they said they don't offer them here. I have got 2 weeks out of the last reline I did. I may go ahead and do another one in  a couple of days, but if it ain't broke why fix it? Anyway, 1 or 2 more relines and I should be ready to check on a hard reline. At least that is covered under my package. I went with the economy package, but may upgrade for the permanent ones.
