I've been using Fixodent for my new full upper denture and it holds well. The trouble is I can't figure out how to EASILY remove the "goop" left in my mouth after removing the denture for the night! I'm desperate for a solution...

Hi Nadyne, after removing your dentures, rinse your mouth with comfortably hot water and gently brush your gums with a soft-bristled toothbrush and regular toothpaste.  Another option would be to gently rub away the remaining adhesive with a damp cloth moistened with a small amount of cooking oil.  Try not to pick the residue from your mouth, as this could cause irritation.  Hope this helps!

I will try this. thank you but isn't it about time that the Co. invent a adhesive that isn't so horrid. With SO many people complaining and unable to find anything else that at least holds as well as the "super" product I feel we ae not being heard. Feels abusive.

I have used 2 different ways to do this. If I use Ice water and hold it in my mouth then the adhesive pulls off like rubber glue lol.... but I too was told by my doctor a little cooking oil on a wash cloth works well.

I just swish water as warm as I can tolerate it and it works great.  Also I will take a washcloth with warm water on it or use a toothbrush on the roof of my mouth .  I also use the kleenex hand towels that are like paper towels they help me scrape it off.  But the key is not to use too much on your dentures -- a little goes a long way !

I still haven't gotten my final lining so I am dealing with top and bottom that don't fit right. I use the pink super goob/ It holds the best but I hate getting it out of my mouth. Especially since I have to apply it several times a day which means I have to get the old goob out first to be able to reapply it and have it hols. has anyone tried talking to the Co. to see if they can make something that won't be so horridly awfu;?

I have been having the same issues with removing it from my mouth.  I like the product, the hold is great.  BUT, spending 20 minutes basically scraping the glue out with a toothbrush in the bathroom at night...not nice!  Because of this, I have in-laws who keep telling me to use what they use and the truth is that I simply don't want to!  What they use, and no I'm not going to get into brands, would require me to sit with a pair of scissors and cut the paper of the adhesive to custom fit my dentures.  To me, that just sounds horribly annoying to have to do every morning...especially if I have a busy day.  But, would it be possible for someone to make a denture adhesive remover...sort of a mouth wash that could decently do the job?
