Scared AF to get extractions while under at a surgeon office

Soooo, have been looking on this site and a lot of the posts are pretty old. I'm hoping I can get some insight with what I'm feeling and how to deal.
I'm 34, and a mother of a 3 year old. Holding off dental stuff for a while bc I didn't have insurance. I still don't have dental, but have had over 6 consults and all went to either root canals (need 7) or extractions. The one tooth (#7) needed a root canal, so I paid upfront, this was just 2 weeks ago, I gave them x-rays and all prior, I'm in the chair, numb, my heart feels like I'm going to have a heart attack (apparently didn't use epi, but just plain lidocaine) and instruments in my mouth, this dentist stops, takes x-rays and tells me I have to see a specialist. Apparently it has 2 canals. Wow. So she gave me a temp filling. The shit hurts now. Just feels bruised. She took the nerve out. So the plan is to get my whole upper taken out, (around 9) the one tooth fixed (#7) and 4 back teeth on the bottom taken out. And keep rest of my bottoms. BUT here is my deal... after dealing with this crazy ass situation with this tooth just recently, I have to pay double now to see a specialist bc it's now considered a retreat. I also need 2 clearances for this oral surgery. (Had surgery in 2013 and was fine) but now, I HAVE A CRAZY SINUS INFECTION. I think due to my teeth.. I have 2 back oneso that need taken out that are infected. The one top on is the only thing holding my sinus up! I'm on antibiotics now since yesterday.. I just am stuck now as to what to do with tooth 7 and now having to be toothless for my son's b-day! Idk... they won't give me Temps even though surgeon said won't mess with healing. This infection and the damn tooth that should have been fixed, idk.. I'm a mess. My mind is all over. I am so scared. I've never had general surgery in an office before, always in hosptial. I've never felt my heart beat like that ever besides with the epi for local.. thus dentist said it's normal even without the epi. I don't think she's right. I just need clarification and something to help me get my mind cleared. Anyone out there who experienced similar? Anyone had sinus infection due to teeth? What about the sinus and tooth issue?
Only tooth holding them up on the right side. Won't there be issues once that tooth is taken out? Sinus won't fall out?
I need bone grafting and this surgeon said possible sinus lift. He said he will only do extractions first, then heal, then do bone or sinus which ever he feels comes first and heal and then other.. heal and then implants for the denture.
Heeeeelp :-(
Sorry this is long.
I feel so alone. I also nurse, and the lactation said completely safe after to nurse, but I am still nervous. So much going on all at once it seems, and maybe bc I have held off for so long. Will I be OK? Will I feel better? What to do?
I'm reading about brain abscess and everything due to teeth infection.. I'm really all over the place. :-(

Ive just recently had all my uppers removed , i took a strong valium before hand to calm me down and the dentist also gave me some gas to speed it up .i was awake and alert for the whole process and honestly wasnt scared one bit. It took me 10 yrs to get to the dentist chair !!! Had i known how easy it was going to be i wouldve done it 10 yrs ago. Had lowers out 2 months ago only with a valium and i slept through most of it. There are a few people here who have recently had their teeth out and who were afraid aswell and can now vouch that theres nothing to be afraid off. Afterwards you may feel sore( not as sore as having toothpain) swollen and then frustrated but at the end of it all you are pain free and can smile again.

Cassie.. did you do the implants ? Your teeth look so natural. Did you lose a lot of bone? I will be "sleeping" when I get my extractions. I do not want to be awake at all. After so many dental issues, and this last visit 2 weeks ago. I can't do it. The surgeon said he uses propofol. Not sure if that's how you spell it. He's also making get a medical clearance bc of the epi sensitivity. So he's covering his ass. But why not just stay away from it period?. Idk.. thanks for sharing your experience!
Hopefully I'll be happy and healthy after this mess is all done with. :-(

I didnt have implants as the bone was too damaged so i have plain old dentures . The bone will heal though after time so if i choose later i can get implants.Thankyou yes the denturist made them as natural looking as possible i chose a colour that was more natural than going for white . Taking awhile to get use to and still getting slightly angry/ sad that i cant eat properly yet but im no longer in any pain so im grateful for that. I was scared nervous up til the day , well until i had the valium .But health wise i feel better .i also like the fact that i can take them out :-) .Youll be fine once its all over with and once the swelling / pain subsides youll be so happy you did it .good luck :-)

I'll putit this way, 2 hours in the chair and suddenly no more pain (aside from healing) no more money spent on proceedures that may or may not be helpful. You'll never have felt your mouth was as clean as you do with dentures. And not having holes full of infections that lead to your heart, brain and joints is a pretty nice bonus. Deep breath. One fear/pain will last a couple hours, the other is constant. What do you think will be better?

Marcia, thanks for your response. I know it'll be better for my health.. but the process leading to that is just so overwhelming for me.. did you have immediates or did you wait until you were healed? I feel like without immediate dentures or Temps, I'm going to feel and look so silly. I will be wearing a medical mask bc I won't have the temp ones and to be in public with no top teeth is going to kill my self esteem so much... how embarrassing :-(

Yeah I get it.  I would be too.  I did get immediate.  And I'll tell you- it's so scary!  And for me anyway, it was really emotional.  But your health comes first.  Maybe I missed it on you OP, but why can't you have immediates?

There is only 1 dentist that will do immediate. I'm not going through them. They don't want you asleep, they want you alert.. and I don't want to deal with 13 or 14 teeth being pulled awake. The place I'm going to said they don't do immediate denture bc it isn't good for the healing. The surgeon said that is not true. An immediate or temp will not interfere with the healing. So he told me that maybe the dentist doesn't want to deal with so many visits for relines. He said a lot of dentists are like that.. lazy. He also told me that I should find a dentist who would agree to the immediateside. I'm not having any luck though.
I don't know what to do.. bc I don't want to go out of town for immediate denture.. I don't have time. I'm so exhausted by this whole process as it is.

My dentist told me the immediates kinda act as a bandage and help with the healing and I have to agree I think it did. And I went for 1 reline at 10 days then 1 every 3 months til get my permanent. Its all included in my package. Idk why sum dentists r like that. I had went to 1 b4 i settled on the 1 I chose and he was a complete a hole. Told me was gonna b 5000 AFTER insurance for top only. Also was trying to charge for bunch of stuff that was included in my package at dentist I went with. And the whole office staff was just rude. Sum dentists r great and sum act like we r putting them out to do their job. I'm glad I shopped around first. Maybe u can find a good 1 like i did.

We are limited here in Lancaster... and the traveling is just too time consuming.. I'm so happy you didn't stay with that douche bag of a dentist. I think I may check out this one dentist, now you mention it. He did a root canal years and years ago and I was so calm.. he does this in his basement lol, but he's a professional... idk. I felt in control and felt comfortable.. there was a window to look out into and just the way he spoke to me, was as if he respected me as a human and not as $$$ coming in his door.
His Web site he does dentures... BUT he doesn't take my insurance soooo... may if I can get him to do just the immediates and pay him and go elsewhere for my perms?... hmmmmm, that may just work lol... not sure how the dentist I'm going to now will take that lol buuut, I'm thinking it may just work.
Thanks for having me think lol

Very well said Marcia !! A.c. I know ur scared man I know I was too. The whole week b4 i thought i was gonna have an anxiety attack. But Marcia is so right. The whole extraction process is pretty quick and mine was completely painless and I just had the locals. No gas no I.v no anything. Lol. And there's going to b sum pain due to the swelling but I know my experience with tooth pain and infections the discomfort after was extractions was NOTHING compared to the pain I had been in prior. Not to mention I feel so much healthier since my mouth never hurts and does feel cleaner and fresher than ever. I'm 3 months in and I am eating almost anything I want. Dentures r a very very scary and big choice for i think any1 who has to get them. But I am so so happy with my choice. And a.c this site is the BEST as far as being helpful and encouraging and understanding. Keep us posted. And I know ur going to b scared but we r all here for u. We've been there and have felt the same fears.

Melanie, thank you so much for the kind words. I made the descsion to get whole upper, bc financially it just made more sense. Why spend 4700 on only 3 teeth when I'll spend that if not a couple hundred more on implants later down the road. .. something with help stabilized the dentures and never have to worry about spending money again down the road. Man, this infection crap is no joke. I've never had a sinus infection do to my teeth. Ever. My body is just so sore.. hope the antibiotics works soon..
You've had immediate dentures? I will not have anything for about 3 months.. 8-12 weeks they said, until my gums heal. Will you get implants? Sucks bc I thought I'd be getting everything done all at once but not the case. So time consuming..
I have to make a descsion about tooth 7. It's 400 more for an implant... idk... ugh so much to think about.

Hi AC. I hope everything in the end works out for you. Implants are theeeeee best way to go but I'm practical and not everyone can afford that. When a Complete Upper Denture is made correctly you shouldn't really need adhesive. You should have great suction and a good fit and only need adhesive for maybe steak days or corn on the cob. You can always go with a Full Upper and see how things go. You can always get implants in the future if you're not happy and have your denture modified to snap on to your implants.

Why can't you get an immediate denture????? Of course you can. 8-12 weeks is not enough healing time. I just want to give you a heads up that your gums will take at least 6 mths to heal/shrink. Up to a yr but mostly 6 mths. If you get a denture in under 6 mths it will get loose and you will need a Reline to reconstruct the inside to improve the fit. So if you have to get a reline regardless why not walk out with teeth the same day??!!! I don't get it. Why are so many Dentists doing that!!!!!!!!!??????????? Friggin pisses me off. The Reline is an extra cost. I don't know how much Dentists charge. I work in a Denture Clinic so we charge less. Just under $300 for an upper. Check if your treatment plan has that. If you have any other questions I'll try and help you out. Like I mentioned. Implants are the best but not the only option. I feel that Dentists don't tell people that. That also pisses me off.  Grrrr. Hope some of this info helps.

Btw, you're only 35. Lotsssssssssssssss of time for you to get implants in the future if you want. Most get a minimum of 2 implants on a full LOWER. Cuz they are so hard to be stable for anyone. It's just the anatomy and the way we are built I guess. It tends to flip and flop because you can't get suction on a lower. It's shaped like a horseshoe. A full upper has the whole palate covered so when you insert it air pushes out and it's like a suction cup. Don't worry. You got this! :)

You can also skip the temp and get a permanent denture as an immediate and get a Temp soft reline while healing then a Hard Reline at 6 mths. That will save costs skipping on the temp.

Everywhere I have been, with exception of 1 place said absolutely NO IMMEDIATE DENTURE, they all claim it will interfere with the healing. The surgeon, however said it's not true and to maybe find a different place to do my denture. Insurance won't pay for more then 1 set per life time. I'll pay for 1 set the temp ones if I can but the one place told me I'd have to visit the dentist office at least 2 or 3 times a week for relines for the temps. That one place is super expensive also. I'm just so stressed out. As soon as I have a plan of action in place, something always changes. It's stressful.
I already have the referral for my oral surgery from the place that didn't realise my one tooth has 2 canals vs 1. I feel like if I shiftold from this place to the other it'll just make things more complicated. The other place that does the Temps also will not put me to "sleep" they said they like their patients awake and aware. Uh, no thanks.
Just thought, or expected this process to be clear and easy. I was wrong.

No prob AC. I work at a Denture Clinic in Canada. If you are in the USA unfortunately most Dentists don't like Denturists. There are only certain states that were able to get them legal. I haven't been to the USA personally to see in person all these temps/perms that most on here are talking about. Sounds like many use different quality material for both. We use and only use for fabricating a Denture Lucitone 199 for denture acrylic. It's the best out there right now. We don't make people buy temps then perms. When someone is having teeth extracted and put in the same day we make an immediate denture. If someone knows what the heck  they're doing....Sorry for that. They can take an impression before your teeth are xo'd. Sometimes depending on how many missing teeth someone in their mouth they can also have a "try in" before the denture is completed. You also should go over the teeth (shape) and shade you want.

Once the denture is completed the denture is placed in your mouth soon as extractions are done. Then a Temp soft lining is put in the denture. We offer this at no extra cost. We only do it once. It's up to them if they want it again but we hardly get anyone wanting it again. We do it usually 4 weeks after xo date and it's temporary to help with healing. It's soft and cushiony. We also highly recommend to have adhesive handy. Basically that will become their best friend while healing. At the 6 mth mark we have them in for a permanent Reline. So we take new impressions with the denture in your mouth. Your impressions will show how your mouth is at that point after all healing is done. The denture is left for most of the business day and we remove the cushiony stuff-Temp soft lining and basically reconstruct the whole inside of the denture. It's acrylic that isn't Lucitone but it's the closest to it. Once the Reline is done there will be a nice snug fit and great suction. During this whole journey we offer adjustments at any time at no extra cost. So basically once that is done your permanent denture you got on the 1st day is now fitting well after healing. I have a thread on here called 6 mth Reline or something. You should check it out. There are also many people on here that didn't get temps and just got a perm right from the get go.

Please remember though that the materials we use in a Denture Clinic are different and stronger than what Dentists use chair side. Their labs will use similar or the same as us only problem is some people aren't allowed to see the Lab Technicians.

Sorry I'm blabbing but I hope I can give you as much info as I can and hope I'm making sense?

Yeah AC!!!! Think about it? Why get it at 8-12 weeks? Who wants to walk around or not be able to eat for that long???!!!! I mean yes it will be a whole new ball game getting used to them but anything less than 6 mths will need a Reline so why not leave that day with teeth? Don't forget there are Soft Relines and Hard Reline. The Hard one you DON'T want before 6 mths. It will get loose AGAIN and then you're stuck paying for another one if you want to improve the fit. Our patients rather wait the 6 mths and "suck it up" and deal with using adhesive than getting a reline too early then paying like another $251- our place for another. We are practical at our place. I don't sugar coat stuff. We only deal with dentures though. I tell people what all their options are and the practical ones that can still work. Not the $10 000 +++++ options.

Oh and the surgeon is right. An Immediate will also help keep the swelling down by wearing it and the bleeding. If you get an immediate you wear the teeth for the 1st 24 hrs. Don't take them out in case you can't insert it again and swelling increases. Make sure they sched a 24 hr follow up appt with you and they are the 1st one to take it out for you, check your xo area and check the denture if it needs an adjustment while you start healing.

This is just the worse experience ever for me. It sucks.
Thank you again for the info!!

LOL. Thanks girl. I do know quite a bit then I have my boss the Denturist I ask if I don't know. He doesn't mind that I'm on here when it doesn't effect my work so I can try and help people out. DON'T WORRRRRRRY!!!!!! Take a deep breath! You're going to be ok. Tell me what you want to do. I'll try and give you tips on what steps to take and tell them. Don't tell them I told you. ;)
Btw. Why do you need a sinus lift and bone graft?
Photo of AC

AC

Need the bone graft bc I lost so much bone from not having much of my teeth on top. Sinus lift, bc I literally have one tooth (the infected one) holding it up.. my sinus, both sides have dropped.. and no bone to separate, I don't think.. so my sinus, I believe is just sitting there.. like really. They are low af.
But surgeon said won't do it til I heal and blah blah, like I stated in my post. It's nice to know I don't need to rush right into it though. I wanted the implants so I didn't lose bone, but I already lost so much. The surgeon said he may put some filler in while I'm getting extracted, but he said it depends on what he sees. Idk.. I say one thing and then it doesn't happen bc I'm scared and told other things.
I wanted mini implants but surgeon said waist of money bc they don't last long and for long term I should get the regular sized ones. They don't fall out and are more secure.
I just want to get these teeth out now after getting this infection.
The sleeping part in an office setting is nerve wracking.. and I'm worried about the what ifs. Idk.. I have my clearance for the one scheduled next week, and then I'll let the surgeon know.
If I have to wear a mask I will lol.. my son's b-day is at end of month, so my goal is mid july. Clearance is only good for 30 days.

Ok I wasn't sure if you had a lot of bone loss or not. It's a lot to take in but you have options. You can get a full upper and if let's say after a yr you can't get any suction then opt for bone graft and implants? What if you get great suction? You'll save a load of money.

I mean implants are the best thing to have. If you have the money then go for it. Filler is basically bone graft. If you don't get implants on the upper right now don't wait until you're a lot older. Get them while you're still young and still have some bone ridge left. Yes, some people like mini implants but most Dentists around here think they're a waste. Chance of failure. For your lower we count teeth differently here.

You mentioned you think it's the #27. That would be #47 for us. Is it your bottom right canine? If you get any teeth removed on your lower keep in mind if you don't replace that missing tooth it will through time cause your remaining teeth to shift. Now if it is the canine I'd totally think about an implant if you can for that lower tooth. It's a strong tooth that we use to chew and tear so it would be the best option. A partial lower denture would be annoying just for one tooth. You can't get a crown cuz they're extracting the whole tooth. If you get a bridge then they have to trim down your natural tooth on each side of that one which- Why would you tamper with other good teeth? Don't fix what isn't broken right?

So what is going on next week? You realize that the proper place making you a denture can have one ready in 2 weeks? Well it takes us 2 weeks and when I worked at a Lab it took 2 weeks too. I don't trust reading all these stories that dentures are made in a day. Seriously!!??? Who wants teeth in a day. Sounds like they're just slapped together.

Yeah, I think I want to get an implant instead of paying double for the root canal alone.. not including the crown.
I have to talk to the surgeon about it I guess.
Since I have spoken or texted on here about this, I've been getting so much info.. and it's really settling that I don't have to rush to get everything done immediately.
Think the surgeon mentioned the filler bc he knows I'm getting implants eventually.
I don't even know if filler or grafting is safe while nursing.. I need to look into that.

YES Insist on it..I agree with Josie. I hope it is before wednesday you feel relief. When did you start antibiotics? Well, if has bee few days, I'd say if you're not feeling better by tomorrow, check in. Anti-biotics usually start showing effect in 2 days. You little one may have been on anti-biotics....so you would have an idea of when to expect relief.  Mommies aren't supposed to get sick...but we do sometimes. And rest. And drick plenty of water.

Yes I got the immediates. I will have them for prob another 6 months then when gums r pretty much done shrinking I will get the permanant Idk if I'm going to get the implants. I'm hoping sum time in the future to b able to get but I'm not sure yet. And I was the same as u reading about heart attacks and all kinds of things due to infected teeth. I was so scared. Scared of getting it done and scared of having a heart attack or sum thing if I didn't. I'm sorry ur not able to get it all done at once. I only had upper done and still have almost all my bottom teeth. I know I will eventually prob need to get bottom denture but hopefully not for a long while still. I really wish u the best and please keep us posted on how things r going for u

The Dentrust said I have enough strong teeth on bottoms to not need bottoms.. so that was shocking. I just need to figure out with the hell to do with this tooth on the bottom in front. I keep referencing 7 but it maybe 27. Idk.. this is so confusing. Anyway, I wanted to ask you about the colors matching and shapes. Your bottom teeth are more natural obviously, dentures are more perfect. Did you get yours shaped and colored to look as natural as possible? Do you feel like you can notice a difference?

I went with a shade different from natural white which is what they recommended to match my bottoms. Also to me the really really bright white to me looks not real to me so thought would b better to have color that looks the most natural. Also the denture is pretty straight but its the same size teeth as my old natural teeth. But there a couple of imperfections like my eye teeth aren't perfectly matched which to me makes them look more real. The lady who made mine says she tries her best to make every persons teeth as much like their natural teeth as possible. Now my teeth were pretty jacked up b4 but idk how but they look a lot like my real teeth when i was 20. Lol. So she did good job.

I agree, I think the bright white make your teeth look so fake. I like the natural color ones that I have seen through online research.
I have 2 "buck" teeth.. my top jaw bone comes out further and my 2 front teeth are a lot bigger... so it'll be noticeable that I have had some dental work done.
How do you feel when you take your teeth out at night? I keep thinking like when I see myself with no top teeth I'm going to ball my eyes out. Have you felt like this?

YES!!!! The 1st couple weeks were the worst. But I've kinda came to terms with this is the new me. And honestly I LOVE my new smile. I was so ashamed and embarrassed of my teeth b4. I hated talking to or meeting new ppl. Felt every1 zeroed in on my ugly teeth. Now I'm proud to smile at any1 and every1. Lol. None of my family or friends have seen me without them tho. Not even my husband. I take hem out right b4 going to bed and put them in as soon as wake up. I know he doesn't care and he tells me all the time but its just me not wanting him to see me like that yet. Eventually he will I'm just not ready for that yet. Lol.

You can get immediate dentures. I did. Many did. I also had sedation at the office. You most certainly probably have sinus infection and I hope they deal with that. And something for pain. You poor thing...they are frightening you and you have a young one at home too. . Speak to pediatrician if you are nursing about the meds any doctor gives you. Or pharmacist, because of the baby. The dentist already told you that immediates will interfere with healing. I was told it would help. Others on here can tell you. Cause either my dentist is lying to me or yours is lying to you. I would lose my trust right there. I had 4 children. And I know that when you are sick there is more worry involved because you know you have to take care of baby. You are so scared. Take step by step. This will be lot of money and dentist have no problem taking it...although there are many good ones out there. Firxt...take care of the sinus infection. Your family doctor can even help with that. You need to be advised on meds cause of baby...pediatrician. And slow down, nothing has to be done on your teeth today or this week. I had bad teeth for years...wasnt pretty...but I'm still here. I know finding a dentist to trust takes time and if you're a working mom. You don't have time. Perhaps your family doctor can give you a name of someone...doctors usually know where to go. My doctor gave me his dentist name. But they didn't take my insurance. If I had thought of it, I would of signed up with the insurance they took, and went there. So don't panic...youll be ok sweetie, do you have family member that could help you with research on what the dentist is telling you needs to be done? Take care....Get that sinus infection taken care of
That's alone can make your feel worse and trouble making decisions.

Yeah, I did speak to the pediatrician and the lactation consultant.. I'm always careful when it comes to putting anything into my body and nursing.. makes me nervous. Even with ibuprofen.. I rather not take anything and deal, but this infection is hell. I still feel sore. And my mouth still hurts. Drainage coming from nose a little but not much. The antibiotics I'm not sure will help with the teeth infections but I have to call in and see what they think. I started the antibiotics Saturday. It hurts eating.. like my mouth is that sore.
I have run into a lot of places that do not take my insurance. But my insurance doesn't cover root canals.. only fillings and extractions and dentures but not implants. So I'm very limited. I have to get this one tooth on the front figured out also. With having to pay double now that it was started sucks.. and I'm pissed. I don't want to deal with the heart racing and stuff all over again due to the lidilocaine.. it's all just too much for me.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Xx's

If you have some time, there are other dental insurance that you can get...whst I did, I found a dentist..finally.didnt take my insurance, so I asked which they did take and which of those that they worked with that were reputable. My health insurance is Crazy high, so I was relieved that the dental did not cost much..and covered what I needed done. Just had to eait, I forget, but short while..nust weeks. Then I found out that my dentist was going to charge 20,000. Even with insurance I could not afford. My health insurance had dental, that was even cheaper (blue cross) and went into effect right away. Long story short, I also got a terrible abscess and infection as well in the sinus. Fever, sick...i feel for you. I had dentist across street, went there and they treated my infection. I explained why I couldn't get teeth giced..theu were very nice and didn't take my insurance but have me discount. So I got impressions that day....anyhow, I should of thought it out but I was sick, in pain and feverish. They did charge less
The dentures looked nice, I had sedation too. But, I had trouble afterwards...but that won't happen with you. You are young. Get rid of pain and infection. I was careful with meds too with my kids. I didn't even take anything for birth...but get healthy, and look into options. The dentist works for you. He can tell you what he thinks you need...but you want to get what you paid for. Stay on this site..its great as you said. I'm old enough to be your mother, so I guess I would say don't let them rush you. Take care young mommy...this Will work out. Just again..got get rid of infection then make up mind.. sorry I keep repeating myself.

It's OK to repeat yourself.. you're making your point clear. Thank you.
How was your sedation? You were in an office? This place has white rooms.. I hate white.. and it just makes me freak out. Like they have dental posters on the one wall... but literally everything is white. Idk.. it creeps me out..
May I ask what your complication was?

Well, first of all, if it creeps you out....maybe keep looking. Cause if you go with this guy ( and is he dentist that said you couldn't have immediates cause it interferes with healing?), as the day gets closer you will most likely get more anxiety. You know how at pediatrician's office, they have it all cute for the kids to be happy? Well, not all dentists, or doctors, will go that far anyway, but you should feel comfortable. . So is the dentist nice? Do you feel confident with him/her? My sedation was fine. I wanted to be out completely, but it was like twilight. You can even google the types of sedation dentists use. I was partially awake. But, comfortable. And they (usually) give a valium or ativam for night before and the morning of...if you want to. Don't have to. And they give a list before of what to have ready and usually write 'scripes for anti-biotic and pain, again if you want, before hand and all instructions so that when you walk out, and should be with immediates, you're set to go. My issue was that because mine were going to cost alot, (and I had chemo some years back) I had bone loss. I could no way afford the treatment that it would take...and my lower jaw tends to move a tad forward and to left. That is just how I was wired I guess. So, I could wear uppers but not lowers. Also, they did not tell me to come in for relineing. I hadn't heard of it until this site. So I went back, they worked on me and got the lowers to work a bit, but said they would have to be done over. I do not know if they made mistake or it's just me. I was tired of looking for dentists. And I went in like I said with fever and they offered a good price, assured me they could help me and I said, sign me up. However, I cannot afford the permanments. But, they assured me they would get my immediates to work. Well, you know how  the back teeth should slightly go behind the tops? Well, mine don't. But, that's ME. Everyone is different. My sister, did not want dentures, our whole family have bad teeth, it was pricey, but they did it little by little. And she paid as she went along. That is something to consider. My worry for me was, that since the do the procedures one at time , what if I had something come up...financially..and I couldn't go to next step. However, it worked very well for my sister. They didn't go further unless she understood the cost. Dentists charge alot.  Many dentists give free consultations, and you could shop around. I know it's painful, but don't let them scare you. All that they told you....honestly, not for me to say, but...I don't know. So if you have time, take it and make informed decision. I wrote a book and I'm sorry. It doesn't sound to me that this is a life and death, hurry make up your mind..but what do I know. Anyone else reading this, please help if you've has similiar situation. But, I will say, I was scared of dentists...and I'm not anymore. Because my dentist was nice...kinda took my money and ran but....I'd still go back to him.

The surgeon has the white walls.. and I feel confident dealing with him. He came right in spoke to me directly, and I liked his deminour. Was straight forward, told me how a lot of dentist in our area are only out for money and do half ass jobs. As a matter of fact, he told me the dentist that referred me put a tooth to get extracted that wasn't even present lol. Go figure.
I have seen around 7 dentist within just 6 months. It's a lot and I can't do it again. I just don't have the time nor theven energy.
Happy you're healthy now. Bone loss is horrible. I have a cross bite, my right upper side goes over my lower right side. Surgeon and dentists said I shouldn't have an issue and that they can even make the denture fit properly to "correct the bite".. but idk..

OH I wish my dentist would be willing to try something!! I think his tech messed up and/or doen't know how to correct it. Since you like the doc..my dentist by the way is a dentest, oral surgeon And an MD..so he does it all. But, since the white walls are creepy, then bring in a stuff animal of your child..or just say I need to look at something pretty while I'm there. My husband's dentist was like that..But, I don't think so "white". But he was given a little tv screen , he didn't have sedation...nothing but novacaine, ...dope...it took his mind off..sorta. There are ways around anything..just ask..remember..you're paying, a ;ot, so ask...if he his that nice he'll understand. He probably deals with this everyday.

Lol, I was thinking about taking my son's one stuffed animal he loves so much hahahaa. But I can't do that to my baby lol.. he is so in love with it. Takes it everywhere.. and sleeps with him.. he even named him lol. I love my baby soo much.. he's my life.. I just want to be healthy for him.. and I know this needs done.
Wow, I can't even believe how much support is here.. I just cannot get over it. Talking to people, who I don't know, who have experienced what I will be going through.. it just helps a lot. Bc those who aren't dealing with this, don't understand at all.
I'm sure your dentist can maybe get them fixed. It almost sounds like they messed your bite up. I go on YouTube also.. watch videos... maybe you can look up some videos on there and see what they do to fix your bite?...
You're right I will be paying alot.. I just wish this dentist would understand that and agree with immediate denture for me.. it's saving me 1k but I think it would help my self esteem in the process.

Yeah seems like Australia is pretty well priced. Idk why here in the US, everything is so damn expensive.. like really?!
I know a person who went to the D.R. (Dominican Republic) for her teeth to get done and her teeth are amazing. She got them super white though and they look a lottle too perfect, but they are beautiful.... She spent only 5k... she did the implants.. she had to be there for 2 weeks though. I could never do that.. but just to compare the $$... it's inanse.
I think your teeth look great! I love the natural look, and from I see, you personalized your teeth to make them not soo straight across.. mine will look totally different... lol my 2 front teeth are bigger.. but I hate them lol so it'll be a plus I guess..

AC, I was like you I lost a front toot in November 2016 with infection and had to work that way till 6/8/2017. I went to my doctor and got Xanax , took 1 Xanax some laughing gas and a bunch of local shots was awake the whole time no pain at all very calm. I had a crooked tooth in the front that the dentist left a tiny bit crooked on the dentures so it would look more natural I went 2 shades whiter than the 36 year old caps not movie stat white but a nicer look
