I've had dentures since 2004, and tried relining my dentures a few times. Relining made no difference
Yes, you will have to use denture adhesive. My dentures are not temporary and I need to use adhesive for them. I only wear the top denture, the lower denture won't hold even with adhesive.

I use Denture Relining Cushion Stabilizer. It's $23.00 and you have to order it but it's all I could find to work. I still have to use denture adhesive with it. The way my dentures fit would cut into my gums and I couldn't stand to ware them. I found this and haven't used anything else since.
