I am a new denture wearer. Upper and lower. I got my lower a few months back but accidentally broke it. Non repairable. Then my upper, which I am learning to live with. In early Dec. I returned for a remake of the lower. I have had two impressions, and went in for what I thought would be the final step in wax. However, here it is Jan. 3rd and still no new lower. Should I be upset with my dentist since they still don't have the final product finished. They do not have a lab on site. But for more than six weeks now I have went without the lower. They already have the money for a new lower again, so can someone explain to me who has been through this why my lower isn't back from the lab and or why I had to have two impressions in Dec. of the lower, but still no denture? Yes, holidays played a role, but good grief, I can't eat anything other than creamed potatoes, soup etc. and now I have headaches everyday from not getting enough proper foods.

I know this must be frustrating, Sue.  Be sure to recontact your dentist and let them know you need your lower denture as soon as possible.

My dental group has 5 offices in a three county area and have their own lab. From my final fitting until final extractions and denture insertion was a little over a week because they needed a couple extra days because my dentures were "challenging". They were correcting for an overbite, the fact that my jaw is out of line, and the fact that I have severe bone loss. I'm glad they took the extra time. My bite lines up almost perfectly! The day that I had my final extractions and the dentures inserted, my Dr. showed me the dentures before he got started, and I remember thinking, wow, he is proud of the end result (for good reason, they really look good). He took pride in the end result and I really think that's why I have had good results. Also, the lab tech who made my dentures came to see me after they were inserted to wish me luck and shake my hand!

When they do my hard reline, I can get them same day if I go to the location where they have the lab.

Hopefully, the lab isn't too far away for you!

That sucks that you have to go through that. I went to affordable dentures and my process was like this I went in for molds. Then a week later I went in for wax try in and that included the teeth in it. They only had the top denture ready and I'm assuming that was because I had no top teeth at all. Just root tips. Then I went in dec 17 but due to a credit limit on my debit card I couldn't have procedure done. I was mortified. Cried that whole night. Then December 22 I did extractions and full upper and lower. Didn't pay them anything until the procedure actually started. I would be frustrated too. If I were you I would just keep contacting them. They may get annoyed but it's your teeth and money.
