I am 2 1/2 weeks out from getting full upper and lower dentures. most all of my pain is gone now yay. about 5 years ago i had all my back teeth pulled, now where the denture sits on the bottom next to cheek is horribly sore. I have continued with salt water rinses. Does anybody know about how long it will take those spots to toughen up? Thanks in advance :)

I wish someone would comment of this issue as I have the same situation going on. Feels like the lower side of my cheek actually has sores. I have continued to use the warm salt water rinses, which seems to help a little. I'm a fighter, I'm going to get to the bottom of this issue if it kills me...hahaha. Right now I feel like it is killing me.

I am 61/2 weeks out and the sores have decreased dramatically.  I feel a little soreness when I place the dentures now, but that goes away quickly.  I can wear the uppers now without any adhesive and wear them all day.  The lowers I can only wear when I need to eat, but I'm fortunate in that my smile is such that you cannot tell I have no lower teeth.  Connie, take heart.  You will see improvement.

Sounds like your dentures arent fitting your gums just right. Have your dentist and see if they can adjust them a little. Mine had a spot that made me really sore as well my dentist took some of the material out where I was sore and they are much better now

I had sores as well. Mostly on the top front of gums. I couldn't even wear the uppers because it was painful to put in, wear and take out. The salt water rinse helped, but I also used green tea at room temperature as a rinse, too. The antioxidants in the green tea helped sooth and help repair/fix the sores. I also had adjustments which helped a little, but still was painful to put in, wear and take out.
