Hi Barbara, I have only had mine since last Friday, yes they cause sores and are painful and I had to have them aligned once already. It takes time, in some cases longer than others.  You have to go back to your dentist and they need to make you comfy and you have to go as many times as you need to.

If you are having this problem with your permanent dentures and you go back to make them better, and it just doesn't get better then you would probably have a better chance to get them remade than a refund.

You might want to let people here know what you have done so far , what is happening exactly and if these are your permanent dentures. I  haven't heard of anyone getting a refund but I am sure if you can't get any relief after some time, they may do that or make you new ones. Let people know how long you have had them as well and also how many times you have been back for an alignment. Someone here will know .. I wish you the best!!!

Hello there Barbara I will be happy to let everyone know what happens once I send out my demand letter. I am sending a copy of the demand letter I typed out. I did it on line with Legal Contracts.com. it was very easy to do. It did costs $10.00 so if you want you can copy the form layout on mine and just put your own words in it. Depending on what they write  back, if they don't do what I ask I will go to small claims court. I'm not letting them get away with this. Its not the money its the point and my mouth is messed up. I'm tired of people getting away with poor service and not caring and treating the innocent party's like crap. Talking to us like we are crap

Good for you.

Don't forget to send your Demand Letter certified with a return

I feel sure they will just return your money without going to court
Don't  let them bargain you down

It's about time they return money when they have not done an

Hi  Megan James

Getting a refund from a dentist is a process
You have to be willing to go thru the process
Read up on it  on the internet
You first have to give your dentist the opportunity to make what is wrong right

First put them on notice   and  Do it in writing
Send a certified letter and tell them what is wrong
The court wants to see that you  have let the dentist make an effort to correct what is wrong

We do not know the  details so you Have to tell us where you are  and what the dentist has done to help you,
Keep us informed and we will try to help you get a refund
Good luck

II paid a lot of cash up front to have lower dentures made. It's been about a year , they have always been way to big and never stay on . I still can't eat or chew. I keep them in their container all the time. I told the staff numerous times, went to all schedule d visits. They would never let me see the dentist, I was told that they are the only one who can talk to him and never did. I asked if I could get my money back, they rudely told me no and said I would have to pay up front for a new set of dentures. After that I was treated like a dog they wouldn't have a thing to do with my problem, I started crying in the lobby so upset and humiliated in front of other patients. I turned them into BBB nothing was done, I consider it as malpractice and theft of all my money, leaving me broke and no teeth. What can I do legally to hopefully get all my money back? I wish I could put them out of business. Like a scam only worse, I'm miserable. Please help me what can I do? It is effecting my health, my upper teeth dig in to my lowwr gums causing. Pain because I have no bottom teeth. Thank you. Maria D Sullivan. Maria1950mimi @gmail.com.

Maria you have had an unacceptable experience, you need to call the dentist get an appointment for a consultation with the Dentist and do not accept others telling you that you can't see him, you did pay for his service I'm assuming. How many times have you been back to them, have they tried to get things right?
My suggestion to both of you is document, document, document.
Use a calendar to keep all of your appointments and write a log on what happened on each occasion, who you dealt with what you asked for and how it was dealt with. Keep your bills, ask for a paper statement of each time you go showing the work they did, (not just the initial bill).
If you want a Doctor to refund you money, you have to push him in to wanting to get you off his back, so bring your folder of documentation with you each time you have given them an opportunity to make things right, and indicate to them a running balance of time spent on this issue, its not just your time that's being lost its theirs also. If you can force the issue by yourself with out a lawyer you will have done your homework and prepared your case. If you have been back a few times in the past year the fault is more on you than the doctor. This is your money, your body, if you do not force the issues no one else will. Stand up be strong, do not leave if your not happy.
Remember legally the doctors have put in their paperwork "NO REFUNDS" and you signed it. So in my opinion the only way you will ever get your money back is to have cost the practice more than he feels you are worth. I'm sorry to be so direct, I have won legal battles, it's never easy, but then most big steps in our lives are not easy. Best of luck to both of you.
I truly think the more important thing at this point is to go to a different dentist get their opinion and see if the issues can be fixed to your satisfaction,do you really want the people your trying to get your money back from back in your mouth! Get on Yelp and leave a bad review.
No doctor's give warranties guarantees or are perfect, they always indicate no refunds, and normally look to over medicate and under educate. It is what it is, when you are happy and complement others and show your concern and appreciation for them as people and there services I find I get treated like a human being (normally).

Hi  Ken
I appreciate your advise to Maria Sullivan
It is very helpful and Maria needs help
Sadly  Maria's dental office is not assisting her so the first thing she has to do  is get their attention.
She can get their attention by sending a certified demand letter
Just because a dentist says he does not give refunds does not make that correct or so.  The dentist knows that.  His office knows that. Your suggestions are excellent but first they have to assist Maria and help her and if they can not make that  right  she should get that refund
Keep helping us as you are a valuable resource
Thanks
Barbara

OK Maria Sullivan
You Have come to the right place
We will walk you thru
The first thing before you do anything else is you have to send your dentist a "demand" Letter
Look up Demand letter to your dentist on the internet
The  letter should start with  something like
"This is a request for a refund of $5,000 ?(what ever you paid) because you gave me dentures that I can not wear.  I told you about this and you have done nothing to help me
I paid money to you and you have not given me what I paid for.  I can not use these dentures, they re defective/
Then tell them what you have gone thru in pain and suffering.
Then tell them if you  do not get a refund from  them in 7 days you  will sue them in court
Send the letter out certified return receipt and keep  asking us what to do step by step.     Some one will walk you thru the whole thing step by step
Sharona on this blog has just sent out her first  demand letter and I am sure she will help you
Also get n touch with Sharona. look for her

Sharona send out her first Demand letter
She paid $10.00 for this form
You don't really need the form but if you want it for the ten dollars cost Sharona says you can go to:
Legal Contract.com
(its the first one on there) and copy their form
Let us know

Hello Barbara,
Seven months ago I had all my teeth pulled for dentures only to find I couldn't wear them. I had a severe allergic reaction to them. The dentist told me I was nuts no one is allergic to dentures. So I saw a different dentist and he told me to see an allergist. Long store short 3 allergy test and 1000. later I am waiting to be refitted for a new set. I called countless layers about the problem and no one would return my phone calls. There's no money in sueing a dentist.

Yes they will be white acrylic or porcelain. My choice. The acrylic are harder and do not break as easily.

What material were the old temporaries  made of??  What materials are  are your new  dentures made of?
How much  ($)  were the old ones and how much are the new temporaries?

Lawyers do not take dental cases but you can sue  your dentist yourself  in small claims court

Pink acrylic and I'm not sure what the teeth were made from. We paid 7000. plus what the insurance paid. I won't be paying for the next set. I was going for the Simi permanent one on the lower's but with all the problems and not having any teeth for so long I just want teeth again.
Has anyone had any luck in small claim?

You have to first  ask the dentist  for a refund and tell him other wise you are going to send him a demand letter and then take him to court
I don't think you have a viable case however  the dentist usually does  not want to be sued and does not want to go  to court so he might offer to settle for something and you can not lose anything by trying
I would recommend  some kind of implants instead of regular dentures
 if you can afford it
Most people can never get used to or can never  use or wear lower dentures
Did you ask your allergist what denture material is best for you?
