Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of the companies would work together and provided samples of each product to be given out to as many of us as possible?

I am working with a denture place that is a chain. While they have been wonderful in treating me, I was only given a small tube of Poligrip and 12 overnight cleaning tabs. This was really nice, but I would rather have more samples of adhesives than cleaning tabs that I think are pretty similar.

I did contact one company the day after getting my dentures and asked if they offered samples. A week and a half later I received an email saying they would send me coupons for 55 cents off, which I still haven't received.

I am now starting a collection of expensive adhesives and only part way through the selection.
I'll be honest, I haven't purchased any Fixodent products yet, but they are on today's shopping list.

Just a thought.

Most adhesives come out in a big glop onto your dentures and are  hard to spread around on your dentures. The best I have found is Fixodent with a precision tip nozzle....but I can no longer find it.

That's a nice idea, better then getting the cheapest tube first and moving on to the next cheapest in a day or so.

I use a tip for spreading on the bottoms and my finger for the tops. I use Secure and it sticks all day for me. Use polish remover to take off my finger. Catch the you tube videos for secure. It really does work good!

Yesterday I went to a family reunion and wanted to be able to eat some things (I haven't quite got the hang of biting or chewing yet). When I put my teeth in I used extra (WAY too much come to find out) Poligrip paste. I was so excited to be able to eat a few ham roll ups (slice of ham, cream cheese, and a dill pickle spear, sliced up into pinwheels).

As the afternoon went on laughing and talking and eating and drinking (just water & Crystal Light ) I could feel the lower ones getting looser but the top wouldn't budge.

I got home around 6, after stopping and buying some Fixodent powder, and decided I couldn't handle the way my uppers felt. Once I took my lowers out and seeing the goop I had to clean out and off I got a little worried about the tops that were still very secure.

It took everything I had to wiggle them out. Twenty minutes later I got them out (and yes I was doing everything the way I was supposed to). It took me an hour and a half, a tooth brush, my finger nails, my electric toothbrush, patience, gallons of hot salt water, my tongue scraper, and more 4 letter words than ever just to get the crap off/out of my mouth /teeth/fingers. I think that stuff could be used to permanently affix just about anything!

LESSON LEARNED !
