trial tubes suggestion

I have purchased several different tubes of fixodent to try each one since I am new to dentures. Its not cheap. I think fixodent should make a starter trial kit with little tubes of all there types. Each tube could be enough for a week. Then after trying each of them we would know what one to buy full size to use. We wouldn't be wasting money on tubes we wont use again.
I know fixodent is out to make money but they claim to be here to help customers. In the end they would probally keep customers and not loose them to different companies.

I think Patti you have hit the nail on the head, I too have never been satisfied with the amount of denture adhesives that actually do work & not cheap at all, it would be a blessing to a lot of us if fixodent would consider this, I for one have never found an happy medium to always buy so listen to your buyers fixodent and heed patti's tip!

Great idea, Patti! I'll definitely pass this idea on to the team. It would be great way to let new denture wearers try out all the different options Fixodent offers. Thanks!

I see on the box of fixodent that it has zinc in it and could cause cancer, I had all my teeth removed, and have to use it for my teeth to stay put. This June will be 2 years, Is this dangerous?

If you have questions of zinc being harmful you need to ask your doctor. Personally I dont tkink it is. We need some in our diet, a lot of foods have it, and you can get some adhesives without it. Its in multivitamins too.

Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your concerns. Like Patti said, zinc is a vital part of our daily diet and is found in many foods and over-the-counter health products. Just to put your mind at ease, please know that all Fixodent products are safe when used as directed. The products undergo rigorous scientific evaluations before appearing on shelf for consumer use, and meet all federal and local laws and regulations where sold.  We also continually monitor the safety of our products once in market. Fixodent contains ingredients that are generally recognized as safe in the amounts used. I hope this answers your question!

It bothered me, plus the gov't has restrictions on it. Google "denture adhesives with zinc lawsuits". It will blow your mind. I won't use zinc in my mouth all day every day. Each person has to figure out what's best for them. I use Secure, lasts long with no zinc.

Praise the Lord,

Jeanne I have printed out so much info on the zinc in adhesives, but I don't use it

everyday. When I'm home I don't even wear my partials and I'm a home body so

I very seldom go out anywhere. So I don't think I'm getting a lot of zinc anyway except

for what may be in the food I'm eating. And I know to use very little Fixodent when

I need too. Also we don't really know what's in anything that we put in our mouths no way rather it be food, coffee, sodas, water, or adhesives we just don't know what is going in our body, so we can't just say its from denture adhesives. I have tried  Secure  and I don't care for it @ all, it really doesn't hold my partials in not like the Fixodent To Go does.

Think about it Jeanne I'm not trying to justify the zinc used in denture adhesives but

what about what is added in the water we drink it also has cancer causing additives in it, or what is being fed to the animals and the shots given to animals that make them have better milk and better meat, and vegetables is being sprayed w/ all types of chemicals to kill insects and make them grow bigger and it is being absorbed into the roots of the vegetables and we are eating it.

My point is this Jeanne we're subjecting our bodies to so much stuff we just don't know what's going to take us out of here, so we can't just say the small amount of zinc in the Fixodent is going to do us in, right , it is so much more that we shove in our mouth each day that is probably doing more harm, also chemicals we use on a daily basis like soaps, shampoos, mouth wash, lotions, hair chemicals, prescription rx, over the counter meds etc, that can be absorbed in our bodies that could be causing us harm. Did u know using body oils causes weight gain, yes its absorbed into our pores and we gain weight this way too, as well as from oils in foods or cooking oils.

God bless u Jeanne, and I respect your opinion too, I'm not an employee for P&G, I'm still very damn angry w/ them for discontinuing  the production of my Fixodent To Go .35oz mini tube anyway, but I love my Fixodent to Go it holds my partials in so well.

But this is for all who may read this think about what I said here, now don't it make a lot of sense so stop worrying about the small amount of zinc in Fixodent u have so much more to be fearful of. Also I wanted to add that I know quite of few people that has died from cancer and never smoked cigarettes a day in their life, a few even had lung cancer, and I have been smoking since I was 13,and I'm now 61 and I don't have any illness either I'm not trying to justify smoking either, so when I die it will just be my time, this was just another example.

Trust in God and He will definitely protect u against any and everything that u think may harm or hurt u. I have definitely put my entire life and health in His Loving Hands!

God Bless U all!

Patti this is a very good idea but I really don't think that P&G have their customers in their best

interest at all. They was the only company that had the .35oz. mini tubes of Fixodent to Go,

and in 2012 they discontinued it for reasons unknown. It would be very nice if they would offer

all of their Fixodent product including the powder in a sample size for a small price so their

customer can have the options to choose which one is best for them to use in the larger size.

Again they'll only pretend to care, but if they really did then they would honor our

request I don't think they read these post eithers and don't believe that the reps. even relates any of these post or concerns to the team, just being honest.

I do agree with you Diane....if they did care about there customers they would have it. My mom said the same thing and they actually make more money on the big tubes, because we wouldn't buy the big ones in the beginning. Oh well.

I read some of the articles for the lawsuits. It did say there have been some neurological problems in a few people. It also says a person would have to use approximately 2 and 1/2 tube to becomw zinc toxic....still not worred.
What are the government restrictions that you menrioned.

Well Patti my neurological problems was caused by abuse by my mother physically, mentally and emotionally for many years as a child and as an adult too, my siblings and husband, though not physically, but mentally and emotionally, and un-lovingly, and so-called  friends with their many daggers in my back. So my neurological problems was not due to the small of zinc in Fixodent To Go and I've been wearing partials for just 3-yrs. and I'm 61 now. Some of the neurological problems could also be caused by chemicals in food products, water, and vegetables items I listed to you above. So no Patti I'm still not worried and most of all I wear the full Armor Of My Lord at all time and it protects me against everything evil  that can cause me harm. May God Bless u and keep u safe Patti.

Diane so sorry about your life of abuse. I know you are not worried about the zinc, neither am i. just saying what i had read. i do think we all have talked the zinc issue to death though lol
my main and really only concern now is the hold of my dentures. i havent found any....not one....paste or adhesive that holds as long as it claims to hold. i do agree with jeanne that secure seems to be the best. as far as fixodent they all seem to last the same. as for ease of use i kind of like the powder. the strips are not too bad, they are secure too. i am using the cushion grip now and its ok...but is is NOT an adhevise as it claims. its more of a reline, soft at first them hardens after a few days. its ok cuz i have to wait for my real reline but its hell to remove from the dentures when you want to take it off.  took me at least an hour today...pealing it off bit by bit and soaking in hot water to soften it...lol
so if anyone finds a good paste please post it here...we are all looking for one.
