Why is my adhesive not holding my bottom dentures in my mouth all day? I'm using Fixodent food sealer and following the instructions for applying to denture. Someone please help.

Hi Marcy, I know it's disappointing when your teeth come loose.  Fixodent is formulated to hold all day.  Are you new to dentures?  If so, as your gums heal from extractions, they will shrink and change, which can cause your teeth to become loose.  Be sure to visit your dentist for adjustments, and you may want to ask about a reline.

A lower denture can cause more grief than an upper denture.  It will take time for the muscles of your lips, cheeks & tongue to "learn" to hold your lower in place.  Hang in there, it will get better!

I had a lower partial, but I literaly have NO bottom gums, which allowed my partial to be unstable and it kept breaking. I now have only five lower teeth, three on one side and two on the other, left purposely to anchor the partial to. That did not work as they had no gum for support, therefore , I have gone for years with only five lower teeth an now they are needing out. Can a plate be made with say three implants to secure the lower plate? My uppers have always done fine but needing to be replaced because they are completely worn off to near nothing.
