This is terrible
You must tell the dentist you are not a dentist and he is the dentist and nothing is right or acceptable about how these fit and look and feel
What is he going to do about it?
I would ask for a refund and see what remedy he offers instead
Would you please break down your bill in costs
Do you have an original treatment plan?
How much did he charge for each procedure
It all sounds too expensive
It is the dentists fault and not the lab's
fault
Tell him to send you to the lab and see what they say
I think you should consider an over denture (a clip on denture) to 2 or 3 implants and you should be researching that with your dentist because you should not
be in such pain and discomfort
What do you know about your dentist?
Tell your dentist you would like a refund and then see what remedy he offers you
Right now he should be giving you a refund for the temporary dentures because they were not wearable.
Keep on this blog and discuss the alternatives your
dentist is offering here
See if Josie (on this blog) would give you Her expert opinion

Myra what I would also do is call my insurance company and tell them these dentures and the temporary dentures are
wrong and unwearable and ask them what they they can do to help you??
Can they retrieve the money they have paid toward these dentures??

Below is a letter Susan Ozturkler sent to hr insurance company that paid for her dentures
She got help from the insurance company Perhaps your insurance company would help you get a refund also
- ------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the rest of the story. If you recall the dentist that made my initial denture and was in a hurry to charge me for a permanent set. He had also agreed to refund any money spent on the permanent set. What follows is my appeal letter to the insurance company and the Smiles Generation Credit Card has already credited my account and has opened an investigation into Foothills Smiles.
On 02/23/18 I had my teeth removed and an immediate denture placed at Foothills Smiles LLP. The denture was partially paid for with my last years (2017) insurance plan at Met Life. The remainder was billed to Delta Dental on 02/23/18.
The denture has never fit my mouth and has been 100% unusable by me. I have gone in 5 times for adjustments with no change in the outcome. Dr. Jarvis explained to me that these initial dentures were “healing” dentures and were only to be used until “permanent” dentures were made. He told me how they were far more detailed and would fit my mouth better. This was his solution after the 5th attempt to correct the denture had failed. Since this was all new to me, I trusted what the Dentist was telling me.
I was then presented with a bill for the “permanent” denture that I was surprised to see; I thought I had already paid for all of this. I was again assured that this was the correct next step. Since I was not prepared to pay for a second denture, Foothills Smiles opened an account for me with Smile Generations. They were billed 1999.20 for a denture. I have since found out that Delta Dental was billed that same day for an upper and lower denture.
It was not until I started doing some research and talking to others with dentures on a forum site, Denture Living that I started to question what was happening next. I went back to see the Dentist and explained my concerns about a second denture. Why would I have him make a second one when he could not get the first one to fit? He understood explaining that he would refund any monies spent on the second denture thus far. That was 04/06/2018.
I have since found out that all adjustments associated with the first denture were to be included in the initial cost for up to 6 months. It seems that between my out of pocket payment and the payment made by Delta Dental for these adjustments that a refund is in order. It was not until I received an EOB from Delta Dental explaining why the claim was denied because adjustments were included in the initial charge, and have been wrongly charged.
I am requesting that all money paid to Foothills Smiles be fully investigated and refunded where possible

Yes, Here it is a little over a year ago that all this happened. I reached out to the credit card company; they investigated and cleared the debt to me reverting it all to the dentist. I had also filed with my insurance co. after their investigation, he was ordered to pay back all the money they had sent, PLUS all the money he had charge me for services he should have never charged me. I also filed a formal complaint with The Arizona Board of Dental Examiners, since he is not board certified I could not file with them. I still have no teeth and have just now found a DDS that I feel I can go forward with. Wish me luck.

I am so sad that this occurred/
At least you were made whole as far as the money went and that is only because you handled everything so quickly and so correctly.
Of course you deserve the best
Good luck

With your encouragement. It was you who told me not to settle for the poor treatment I received. Thank you so much for that advise. While the Credit Card has been taken care of and the Dentist was ordered to pay it all back ... I still have yet to see a penny. Thank you again for all your input.

Hi Beth,
Yes they owe you something a lot better then this
What did you pay for this temporary denture??
Go back to your dentist
Go in as an emergency as soon as you can and tell them you are in extreme discomfort and there is something very wrong
Tell them You want a denture you can wear and not this defective one.
If they do not remedy it and agree that they must give you what you paid for go home and compose a short demand letter (look it up on the internet)
Tell them you have done everything they have asked you to do and this denture is defective and you want a refund
This ought to bring some results
Perhaps you can ask them to have you go directly to the denturist lab ( where the denture is made) and have the head denturist look at it in your mouth to make the appropriate new denture for you/
Dentists are the middle man when it comes to making dentures and not as good as the denturist that makes the dentures.
Please let us know how you are doing and what you are doing to get this better for your self
Good Luck
Barbara

Be very clear that these dentures are killing you and "Every one" says they look terrible
Tell him you are willing to go to his lab so that when they
make the new dentures it will fit properly
Do you have an original treatment plan with prices from this dentist ?
Good Luck with this

How Much Can I Save on Dentures in Mexico Compared to the US or Canada?
A partial acrylic denture will set you back around $1,400 in the United States, but you can get it in Mexico for as little as $150. Full dentures are $1,800 in the US compared to $335 for full dentures at a dental clinic in Mexico.
If you thought you couldn’t afford dentures, then think again - Mexico may be the answer – and there are plenty of different locations to try out, whether you want a quick hop over the Border or a full-blown vacation.- 287 Posts

I don't know if I'm considered 'contracted' for temporary or permanent dentures or not. All I ever signed was their treatment plan (I don't have a copy yet).

I don't know if you will ever need it but they should have given it to you
It should be a print out with all the costs
listed . Otherwise how do you know what you are being charged or what you are getting?
I imagine you might want to ask for it now???
Usually it is a temporary denture and then a permanent denture
Did you have dental insurance???
Of course you have enough to contend with in your life right now

About making your own dentures
Yes that is amazing.
You should find out if you can get a beginners set of materials (much less then the $300) and do it
I am sure you would be very good at it

You are doing everything right
Try to get away from these people
Perhaps to protect your self you should send them a demand letter
Ask for your money back NOW
Attach a copy of the letter they gave you and ask for your refund NOW
Keep proceeding with this senario so you can get out whole
You can not trust these people. Send a letter to them certified with a Return Receipt so you have everything on record
Do not damage this denture with the dremel so they can not say anything is you fault
Go to some dentists that advertise free consultations and tell them you want to get away from this dentist and see if any can help you
Talk to this Lab about an over denture and see if you can afford it
If you can find Josie on our blog ask her for some advise
Good Luck and let us know what is happening

You should ask you insurance company and Care credit to tell this dentist to give you an full refund now
Care Credit should be able to reverse the charge and your insurance company should be able to do something for you
I am so pleased that you refuse to be a victim
How are dare they gang up on you /
That man's size and demenor is intimidating
You have got to get away from These people.
