Winner, winner, I'll finally be able to eat dinner

I took some advice from someone on here (I'm sorry that I don't remember who) and I'm so glad that I did!

I had a Dr appointment this morning that I knew would be long and involve a lot of talking. I took a chance on an adhesive that I just bought last night. My teeth stayed in place perfectly since 6:30 this morning and I JUST took them out (with a lot of work) at 1:50. I drank 3 large cups of coffee, ate 2 donuts, and I don't doubt that they would have stayed the rest of the day and thru dinner.

Sorry Fixodent, this was the Poligrip Super Grip Extra Strength powder.

I will still use the Fixodent because it only holds for about 4 hours and thanks to all of my medical problems I usually take a mid-day nap and I hate sleeping with my teeth in.

Now I know that when I have to go away I have something to keep them in.

Thànks again for the suggestion!

(Hope this makes sense, I'm extremely exhausted and having trouble seeing the keyboard. Lol)

I have been meaning to pick some of that up. Did it have any taste at all? I cant use the paste at all due to off gasing but I also didnt find that the Poligrip super hold would maintain the snug fit hold required either. I have tried Fixodent also but it makes an unholy slimy mess after about an hour and a half. Sea Bond wafers sponge up too much and also don't perform as advertised.

I didn't notice any flavor at all. As for any slimy-ness, the only time I noticed that was when I first put them in and it was totally my fault!

I was running late when I went to do my teeth. I took them out of the water/mouthwash bath that I soak them in over night, rinsed them and left them mostly wet (I shook them out of habit), covered the entire denture in the powder (getting it all over my fingers and the outer parts of the plates), normally I would have wiped off the sides. I drizzled water over them and let it sit for about 30 seconds and then placed the in. That was when I realized that I should have wiped off the sides, but even that wasn't bad.

No off gassing, no wiggles, no worries. There was one point, about a half hour before I took them out that I noticed an ever so slight wiggle so I just pushed the bottom down and held for about 10-15 seconds and everything was good again!

As most of us know, this worked for me yeserday. That doesn't mean it will definitely work again. But as of rightnow, I like it far better than the Fixodent powder.

I know, right? The funny thing is that the Poligrip powder used to come in a blue bottle (I'm talking 25+ years ago and it was ALWAYS in our medicine cabinet when I was growing up. I asked my dad about it because I thought it was the same bottle for all those years. He said that it was the only thing my mom would use (she's been gone for 21 years]. I guess it was the other bottles and tubes that sat for years lol. I know the feeling :)

It was hard to find too! I had to go to 3 different stores before I found it. I was beginning to despair lol
