I would like this option for Android and Windows Desktop as well, if possible, although if it could be integrated within the Divine Office App, as I have suggested elsewhere, (including having the Marian Anthems for after Compline), this would be really good.

  • Thanks for your great suggestions. We do plan on doing this, but it is unlikely we will integrate it in with the Divine Office app because they are already becoming very complex both technically and from a usability perspective. It is more likely we will create a new app.

Thank you Dane for your response, which is welcomed very much.

I don't know the technicalities etc. but can imagine how integration could be difficult where it might need a major re-write.

I don't know if this would be feasible for consideration, but I wonder if somehow the main code could be adapted to include for optional slot-in's similar in some ways to the idea of extensions as available for Mozilla programs. Perhaps this could even include some way that users could add additional prayer texts of their own, such as might be used by them as members or religious orders or other organisations.

I realise that the above idea might be similarly difficult to integrate, so as an alternative could be a kind of dedicated launcher that could launch the DO app, plus a closely related app like Angelus, including a way of swapping between them perhaps. Of course if apps exist that would do the same thing, it would be daft to reinvent the wheel and some way of letting users know of such an app would be helpful. I can do something similar with a more general app that enables apps to be allocated to subject folders, but one that gives a degree of external integration with other DO apps would be handy as well, particularly for those who don't use a folders app as I do.
