Little Office for big hearts..

Have you ever prayed the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary? Not as confusing as it seems--good way to take part in the Divine Office.

  • Beautifully done... are you speaking of the Rotelli edition or another...
Hear is something a person could do with just a cassette player that has a microphone. It would be accessible to a person who is more low tech or maybe even a no tech person...

With 78 million aging baby boomers turning 65 at a rate of 10,000 per day... we need accessibility as well as affordability...

Make one cassette for each day of the week Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer of course is unique to each day. The Office of Readings could be on the 8th tape as it is the same for each day along with Daytime prayer and Night prayer which is also fixed in the Little Office. Also on the 8th cassette add the Litanies found in the back - especially the Thanksgiving for Mary's Fiat.
Add to each of Day of the Week cassettes perhaps the Rosary for that Day of the Week, and the daily devotions of your heart.

Ahh and here is something to consider in your heart... It could even be a gift that a husband could give to his wife and a wife to her husband.... the cassettes done in their spouses' voice so that which ever one should die first, so that each would know that they continue to pray together in the Communion of the Saints.... Hearing their voice in prayer with them may make the losses of old age more bearable.. bringing a great peace as they celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours in Union with our Lord Jesus Christ and The Blessed Virgin Mary and all the Saints... Everyday all over again... dying and rising in Jesus Christ...

I understand that such cassettes can also be converted to CDs to use with CD players...

The older we get the less bothered we are by repetition... and such as this... perhaps done using the voices of various family and friends praying with them... would be a consolation on those days when far away seems too far...

I have looked at your question many times... Sometimes a really good question helps to discover how much of the answer the Holy Spirit may already have given ... Bless you... and this wonderful question...

I cried out to the Lord and He answered me... Amen
