I'd like to share a trick I'm using to make RSSRadio even better. I'm using RSSRadio as an Instapaper for audio and video content.
Maybe this functionality could be built directly into RSSRadio in a user-friendly way so that other people can benefit. Ping me if you have any questions.
I built and hosted my own RSS file, and I put links to audio and video files that I'd like to consume later (like Read Later and Instapaper, but for audio and video content).
I have a simple UI to enqueue items into that RSS feed from my PC. Simply provide a title and the url for mp3/mp4 file using an html form.
Then RSSRadio picks up those media files from my queue and downloads them.
Downloading videos from Youtube within RSSRadio requires a little bit of trickery.
It's hard to find the url for the mp4 files on Youtube, but services like KeepVid help you with that.
Also, another trick is that the Youtube urls (from KeepVid) didn't work in RSSRadio, unless you run them through a shortening service (I used tinyurl).
In the future, I'm hoping to simplify the enqueuing process to minimize copy & paste steps. Maybe by creating a bookmarklet (like Instapaper) or a win8 share charm ("watch/listen later").
For reference, my RSS queue is posted here: http://srv3.purenrg.com/~dumky/bookma...
