ADP's

Hello, I've been a member for years and there is only one thing I would like added. While incredible software, I feel that the Draft Analyzer tool could be even better. My leagues are all in Yahoo!, and the ADPs are not usually close for players in the middle to late rounds. This is because tons of people do mocks drafts to practice. So many people will enter a mock, stay for the first few rounds, and then leave. The computer then fills out their starters for them before any bench players, meaning kickers and defenses are going way before they do in real drafts. Draft Analyzer, however, uses the mock drafts when calculating the ADPs for the players, so kickers and defenses will have much higher ADPs and players that are normally drafted in those spots will appear to have ADPs much lower than reality. This obviously will make Draft Analyzer think you can get those players later than you really can, causing you to miss out on them. I think the average fantasy player tends to use the specific site's pre-rankings during the draft more than they realize, especially when the pressure is on and there is a time limit. People feel like they are reaching if they have to scroll way down the rankings to select a player, or they just aren't prepared enough and don't have the time. So basically, along with the ADP selection in draft analyzer, I would like to be able to use the pre-draft rankings for the site, since I think that may be just as useful for many drafters

I like your thoughts on this.  In the past we have tweaked some sites ADP data for Kickers and DST for the exact reason you mentioned.  We could actually bump up the players ADP that go after those Kickers and DST so the data better reflects their actual ADP better.  I will look into this further.

How exactly do you want to use the Yahoo pre-draft rankings?  Would you rather use that ranking list than the rankings/projection sources we provide?  In my experience, those ranking lists are typically out of date based on injuries, depth chart changes, etc, and not very good.  I don't know how often Yahoo (or other sites) update those lists.  The rankings they include in the draft room are pretty bad in mid to late rounds as you said.

Love the feedback Drew!

Yeah, I am not sure how often those rankings are updated, so that is a good point. Maybe just having the option to use those pre-rankings could be beneficial. I have to assume they update them; otherwise, that would be a joke. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to sync those. You could just have the option when you're selecting the ADP source like "Yahoo standard" but it could say "Yahoo pre-rankings." Just another option for people. I tend to use the MFL10 ADP since I think those ADPs are closer to what a good fantasy league is like. I also like your idea of bumping up the players that go after kickers and defenses. Or there could be an option in draft analyzer to completely ignore kickers and defenses and the ADP of every player just moves up that was normally behind them. I know in my leagues most people draft them the last two rounds so I don't really care about their ADP anyways, and I think a lot of people may have similar leagues

Great ideas. I will look into each of these.
