It doesnt seem like the average auction values have been updated in a while. How often do you update them ?

We will get those updated today...and will update them Mon-Wed-Fri through 9/8 plus any emergency updates for major injuries.  Thank you for the polite heads up Folarin.

Hey Folarin-

Have you used DE for a live auction before?  If so, any tips or wisdom you'd be willing to share?

I've used it for online drafts but will use it for the first time in a live auction in a couple of weeks.

Thanks!
Bob

I haven't this is my first year using it. I suggest you try a mock draft but I'm adamant that the weakest part of the tool is the auction planner not being adaptive during a draft.

Agree with the auction planner not being adaptive. What if I change my plan mid way or overbid. It should adjust

These are excellent posts.  The algorithms and calculated/suggested Bids do adjust during the auction based on how much you have spent, which I think is what you guys are referring to.  If you overbid on a position, you will see the "$80 Allocated" message even if your Auction Plan had $60 allocated.  So the system does adapt...but it will be more targeted to your Auction Strategy if you tweak the Auction Plan as you desire if you over/under spend at a position.  You don't have to, but it is helpful.  Lets say all the TEs you like are gone, so you spend more of that budget on backup RBs...lower the allocated amount on Starting TEs and increase it on backup RBs.

Does that make sense?

I think I follow what you are saying Ted. You can manually adjust your auction plan during the draft which I understand, I just wish there was a more automated way of doing it seeming as auctions command your full attention for most bids. Like in draft analyser I like how you can say not to suggest any QBs in the first 6 rounds by a few clicks.

Ted, I did what you said in the mock draft. When I did that it gave me a whole new team that didn’t include players I already won. I had to refresh the whole window and resync the analyzer. Some sort of bug there.

Also would be nice for the suggested bid range for the player to show up in the 2nd pane with the player information. Is shows the AAV but not the suggested bid range.

I also targeted a player during the draft and it replaced a player that I had already won on my optimal team. Same idea. Had to go back and refresh and resync to make it work.

I know I am complaining a lot, but I really like this and I think it’s a great tool. Could be amazing with some tweaks and bug fixes.

Nathan - On the contrary, your feedback is awesome!  I am going to look into these and see what I can get done this year vs next year.

So how cool would it be if you could use a chart like this create your own auction plan and tells you which positions are over valued or under valued. This chart is from Fantasyguru by the way.

I really want to dramatically improve the Auction Analyzer, so your feedback and these ideas are excellent.
