Draft Analyzer will not detect the Chrome extension

I just have the error 'Chrome Extension not found. Click here to install.'
I've uninstalled and reinstalled it a number of times. I've cleared the cache and refreshed the page a number of times.
Yahoo picks it up straight away, and the extension icon is blue. But on the Draft Analyzer tool it will not detect that I have it installed. And the icon is greyed out?

Hi Jamie - We will get you going asap.  It seems like you know what you are doing and have already tried my initial quick fix recommendations (re-install the chrome extension and then refresh the page to load the new extension files).  The icon only turns blue on web pages that it is active on, so if it is grey it is likely because it isn't active on that page.  Based on what you are saying, I am assuming you see the install message on the dashboard (ext is used for league sync) or one of the apps (ext is used for draft/auction sync), which means it definitely should be active.  What is the exact URL of the page you think it should be active on?  Our site is all on "https" vs "http", so if you don't see "https", that would cause the problem.

Can you post a screen shot of the browser tab that it is grey in?

Thank you for your post and patience.  The chrome extension is great once we get it going.

Hi Ted,

Thanks for the quick response.
The full URL is 'https://www.draftanalyzer.com/Football/Draft2017/179946'

If I open the draft in Yahoo, it detects the Draft Analyzer tool with no issues?
But the Draft Analyzer site does not detect it.

Screenshot is attached.

Thank you for the info and screen shot Jamie. This is really odd.  All of your league settings look good.  I loaded your league and the extension is recognized as shown in the screen shot.  What happens if you load this league in the DA Classic White Design version?

How technical are you? Do you know how to view the error console?  CTRL + SHIFT + I   then click the console tab. Do you see any error messages?

I will try to add some messaging to figure out why the extension isn't being recognized.  Very odd. Thank you for your patience Jamie.

Well...this sounds pretty lame, but try restarting your computer!  Jay (on our team) just ran into a similar issue of the Dashboard not recognizing the extension even though he has used it since we launched it three years ago.  We couldn't figure out what was causing it.  No errors. Refreshed the page, reinstalled the extension...nothing fixed it.  He finally restarted his computer and it worked again.  So something was funky with Chrome after his computer hadn't been restarted in a while.

We have about 3,600 people with the extension installed...so we should be able to get this resolved for you.  Thank you for your patience.

Hi Ted

My laptop is powered off/on daily but this has no impact.
I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome but still having the same issue.

Would it make a difference that I'm based in the UK?

The extension "should" work globally and if you are able to add it to Chrome while in the UK, then it definitely "should" work.  With that said, I haven't tested that situation!  The extension icon does turn blue in the Yahoo page, so it is working for you.  The extension only loads on specific and exact URLs, so maybe the draftanalyzer.com URL is altered when being accessed from the UK?

Let me know if the URL changes?  I will do some research on this as well.

From your screenshot, it appears you are using Windows. If so, what version?  Just ran into a customer using Windows 7...didn't think that still existed, but Google Chrome browser doesn't even support Windows 7 anymore.

Hi Ted
the URL I have for draft anayzer is 'https://www.draftanalyzer.com/Dashboard'

I am still using Windows 7 SP1
Google Chrome should still support this OS for another few years though, I believe until around 2022.

That is the issue...if you type in https://draftanalyzer.com/Dashboard it should work.  I will update the extension to address that anyway. The update will be live soon with v4.2.8.

Thank you for your patience on this. I think we finally figured it out.  If it works, it will be good to know someone in the UK with Windows 7 SP1 can get it going!

Thank you Jamie.

Hi Ted,

That's perfect - we're all up and running! I've tried a mock draft and all seems to be working smoothly

Thanks for the help!
