League Setting - Bench question

Help me understand how the bench setting works under LEAGUE SETTINGS / ROSTER.
I imported my yahoo league, which has 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, FLEX, TE, K, DEF, six bench spots. DA filled this in an has 7 for Bench : All Positions.

What are the implications of leaving it as is, vs having 0 for Start/Max for bench, and taking that 7 and adding it to my max for RB/WR/TE?  Not sure what I am accomplishing by doing this, or if leaving the default import is sufficient.  I've read and been told to have 0 min/max for bench and distribute accordingly, but just not sure what I am accomplishing by doing this and why it is better.

Thanks.

Tagging onto this - I've noticed the DA vs Yahoo Bench settings are very different ...

DA has all positions listed
Yahoo has no positions listed - just BN listed

The problem with DA is that I am not seeing all my Bench spots. Example, if I draft 3 RBs into my Bench - I'll only see 2 in DA since only 2 RBs show. This is causing me confusion as I need to dart back / forth between Yahoo / DA to verify Bench spots.

Can you have DA sync Yahoo bench spots please?

Placing your bench max positions into individual categories gives you more control of your roster make-up.  For your Flex position the max and start total must be the same.  So you would need to add the max to the individual positions and not the flex.
