Live Draft Sync for Yahoo with Chrome Extension

Two options for 2018 to sync with Yahoo:

1) Use the "Import Now" button to trigger draft sync during your draft.  Pretty easy, but not as cool as #2.  Works on any device and any browser.
2) Use the new Chrome Extension.  Real-time draft sync is amazing.  Only works on Google Chrome on laptops/desktops...doesn't work on iPads or other browsers (we submitted an extension for Edge, but aren't holding our breathe for it to be pushed live anytime soon).

As always: Make YOUR draft picks in Yahoo, the Draft Analyzer will import all picks including yours.

Getting started:
1) Use the automated league import feature (Yahoo will ask you to Authorize the Draft Analyzer first; click accept and then import again).
        - or - Use the League Template for  that includes the scoring rules and roster settings for Yahoo leagues.
2) Select your team/draft position.

Live Draft Sync:
3) Open Draft Analyzer...click link at top of page to install Chrome Extension if you haven't already done so.
4) Open the Yahoo Draft Room...if extension is installed, you will see a blue icon in upper right as well as a "Syncing with Draft Analyzer" message and "Keep view set to "Draft Results" when you need to sync draft picks."
5) In the Yahoo Draft Room, you can switch to any view while you are making your draft pick (the sync will pause) and then return the view to "Draft Results" to continue syncing.
5) In Draft Analyzer, click Start Sync when your draft is ready to get going. Draft picks should be imported from Yahoo to DA in real-time (under 2 seconds).

Troubleshooting:
6) If the sync isn't importing picks from Yahoo to the Draft Analyzer, click anywhere in the Yahoo draft room...clicking automatically triggers an update of the picks made in Yahoo.
7) If the sync imported picks in wrong order, Clear All Picks in the Draft Analyzer and start the Sync over.

Is this specific to the new Dark version? We didn't need to do this before with the chrome extension, did we?

The black and white versions have the same options for draft sync with Yahoo.

If you used the software last summer you may recall that we started with an auto import every 10 seconds, but that overwhelmed the Yahoo platform...so we moved to the "Import Now" option that is triggered by the user.  This option is pretty easy and works on any device including iPads and browser.

This year we built a new option using the Chrome Extension that I love because the sync is as real-time as you can get...picks are updated in the Draft Analyzer almost immediately.  It is a really cool experience if you have a wide screen laptop/desktop and can watch things update side-by-side.  It requires using Chrome, which is the most popular browser but Edge, IE and Safari are still used by half our customer base.  So we will keep both options available.

Let us know your thoughts.

Hi Denny,

We just added back the Import Now Button to the Draft Analyzer if you wish to use the old method and use two separate devices.   If you choose to use the browser extension, both the Draft Analyzer and Yahoo Draft room must be opened in chrome on the same device for it to sync properly.  If you have any further questions just let me know.

Thanks,
Jay

How about a live offline draft on ESPN where the league manager is entering picks with the online draft app? Any solution for connection to this as only the league manager can use the online draft app?

Hi Ian - If the commissioner is manually entering picks for everyone in an offline ESPN draft, I think your best option will be manually entering the draft picks as the draft progresses.  You should have plenty of time since the commissioner has to do the same thing.  It always takes longer to find players in draft room lists that only display the "top" 15 or so players vs the 60+ in view in the Draft Analyzer depending on your screen size plus the Player Search feature.

You would have to manually enter the picks in the software as the draft is going on but you will still get the same recommendations.
