using auction analyzer during a live auction?

I have joined a new live auction league that is hosted and run on RTSports following the live auction.  A couple of quick questions:

1. Is it possible to use the Auction Analyzer during the live auction?
2. If #1 is possible, would I be able to import the league information from rtsports prior to the auction or would I need to manually set up an auction with the rules etc.?

I've only ever used Draft Analyzer for online drafts and just this year have been trying to use the auction side of things.  I've been having issues (currently working with you on them when I have the next chance to try another mock auction) and don't want problems in my first live auction.  I'm in one online and one live auction this year so trying to get prepared.

Thank you for your time and help.

Hi Bob - Yes! You can import your league settings from RTSports...that should work very well. After you import your league settings, go to General Settings to set your league budget (defaults to $100) and select your team. You can easily manually enter the winning bids for each player during the auction and view the suggested bids for all available players updated after every pick. Let us know if you have any more questions about the Auction Analyzer as you play around with it.

Alright.  Just started playing with the Auction analyzer and I'm confused with the Auction plan.  It let's me set the K and D/ST to 0.5% which reflects as $1 but the allocated box to the right still shows $0 of $0.  When I then purchase a D/ST for $1 it let's me know I've spent more than my allotted budget on core D and adjust my budget.

It does the same thing when I purchased one WR for less than the overall amount allotted.  I guess I'm confused by the whole thing?

Also...are "targeted" players designed for players we want for sure and "watchlist" players simply players we may be interested in?  Example....I "targeted" brees and stafford for $10 each and it told me I needed to change my allotted budget even though I only plan to purchase one "targeted" player.

I want to have a good understanding and fluidity with this during the live auction so it helps rather than hinders me.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks!

Great questions Bob:
Question: "It let's me set the K and D/ST to 0.5% which reflects as $1 but the allocated box to the right still shows $0 of $0.  When I then purchase a D/ST for $1 it let's me know I've spent more than my allotted budget on core D and adjust my budget."
Answer: I just looked at the 0.5% settings for K and DT.  Make sure you click "Update and Save" after you adjust the percentages.  That will re-calculate the model and put $1 in the allocated budget spot.

Question: "are "targeted" players designed for players we want for sure and "watchlist" players simply players we may be interested in?"
Answer: Yes!  Exactly.  From other users questions, I think we may be able to enhance the software to have two categories of Targets...Target Locks that you absolutely want (which is how the current Targets work) and Target Interests which is just what you described.

"I want to have a good understanding and fluidity with this during the live auction so it helps rather than hinders me."
Yes!  So do we otherwise your auction won't go as smooth as possible and you will want a refund the next morning!  Very glad you are digging into these features now and not five minutes into your auction!  The algorithms and Auction Plan are pretty powerful, but there is a learning curve.

Keep the questions coming!  Although I think you have probably covered the critical stuff by now.

I think the auction plan should be modified to player tiers. For instance, if people start over paying for Running backs and i decide to zag by spending more on wide receivers, ive now blown my budget for WR even though ive bought players that were in similar tiers. It would be better to say set auction plan to spend 60% of cap on three players in Tier 1, 2 or 3.

That's a great idea!

Is there a way to set tiers in draft analyzer currently that I am not aware of right now?
