Provide a Backup Files Capability

Allow Backups... I'd hate to lose all the wines I've got in my cellar... I bought "Pro" a few weeks back... took some time to put in the wines I've got (and the ones I "tasted")

KR -

First, assuming your adding your wines to your Cellar and not Quick Notes, they are being backed up on our servers. Should you have a problem, we could manually recover your Cellar.

That said, in our upcoming release we have implemented and are now testing Cellar Backup :)

Thanks for the ideas. Keep 'em coming!

Brad - thanks for the update. I hadn't realized that my cellar was backed up on your servers (found that out after I had posted my "idea"). Nice idea. Of course, what would be really nice would be the capability of being able to export and/or priint my cellar. Looking forward to putting "Cellar Backup" through it's paces... any ETA? :-)

I'm a wino who really thinkg Drync is pretty cool.

Less than a month for the next release, hopefully. Let us know, and thanks for your support!

Good to hear you are working on backup. I just started to put in wines (a lot) because I think it is a great idea to have your wines in the pocket. But when I realized that I had no way of saving the data I got worried about a lot of wasted effort. I mean some wines you have on the shelf for years and years so anything can happen. At least being able to export an ASCII file with the basic data would be very nice.

Hi Thomas -

Yes, we have export coming, as well as import, both through our upcoming website. In the meantime, at any time I would be happy to export your cellar to .csv and send it to you. If you'd like that, please send us your UDID to feedback@drync.com, and we'd be happy to do that for you.

Nice idea, but not sure about everyone else, but my cellar changes probably 4-5 times a week and I don't think you want to constantly be sending me CSV files. And no, that doesn't mean I drink like a fish (nothing I'd ever admit to!), let's just say it means I'm constantly adding more wine to my collection (this is far safer to admit to!) :-)

I'll still go ahead and send my UDID to you, just to see what the format looks like (guessing it will be similar to what you finally incorporate into the system)

Can you share any more details on this new feature? What type of format(s) will be supported. Will pictures be able to be uploaded/downloaded? I use an iPod Touch, so I can't take pictures directly into the iPod. Being able to upload them through the application would be cool. And to be fair, the import will be even more impressive to me... as I have fat fingers and like the idea (making an assumption here) that we will be able to actually type my data into your website and upload from there.

Lastly, any update to this time frame for the release of this feature? The initial response said 1 month, but that was 3 months ago (according to this thread).

Great app, keep up the work guys!!! Thanks - Kevin

An export function would be a brilliant idea!!!!!!
