No WLAN on Acer Aspire D270 with EasyPeasy 1.6

Just got a AAO D270 and installed EP 1.6. The WLAN device cannot be activated (pressing Fn + F3 has no effect, WLAN LED = off).

I read in many forums now that many experience similar problems with their Acer netbooks, but so far I could find nothing about the D270.

Typing in lspci into the terminal shows me an Ethernet controller, a Network controller and something called "Class ff00".

I will try UNR now, but I will keep the EP installation anyway.
Maybe anyone has the same problem or even knows how to solve it...

surprise, surprise....
Just turned on Netbook and "new wireless Networks available".... yippy!!

what did I do?
I had a kernel upgrade (Backport Kernel: linux-headers-generic-lts-backport-oneiric + linux-image-generic-lts-backport-oneiric) and installed the firmware package ( http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/li... )

Thanks to Osama Abbas and peppe84!! --> http://askubuntu.com/questions/119969...

edit: the WLAN LED still shows no reaktion, when turning the WLAN on/off - but turning on/off does work.
