Archive tasks within a project

Hi All,

We've been working with Copper for about 4 months now and its already invaluable.

We've set up several projects and have hundreds of tasks within them, all at different stages of completion.

Included in this there are many completed tasks which take up a lot of space on the interace and make it more difficult to see what we need to be focussing on.

Is there therefore any way to archive a task within a project once it has been completed?
I don't want to archive the whole project as there are other live tasks still in it.

Hi Guys, thanks for the kind words, currently theres no way to archive a task within a project, however one thing that we do internally here (we use copper for managing the development of Copper!) is move tasks to an archive project. This may be helpful, otherwise we can also look at customization although I would say that this would impact on Timelines, Budgets, Reports, Files, lots of stuff, so it would take some thought.

A couple of initial thoughts: 1. A simple 'hide this task' option 2. Ability to roll up subtasks (so you could drag finished tasks into a 'finished tasks' parent task, then roll the 'parent tasks' up). I like the sound of 2, but certainly this is a fundamental change across Copper so it might take some time to let the customer base govern how we manage it.

Lots on our plate at the moment, but maybe we could revisit this at a later stage if enough people were interested.

We share the same sentiment as Mike, it will be helpful to have a way to ARCHIVE tasks that is easy to access later if we need to get back to it, and also without affecting the time sheets reprort, as we use copper for our monthly payroll.

I agree. We would love to be able to either hide a task or 'rollup' subtasks. We use Copper to import time into our payroll system as well so do not want to lose time that may have been recorded under a task that is complete or no longer active.

I agree that this is an extremely important feature. I hope this feature is still getting attention.

All I really want/need is that all tasks listed as 100% be hidden from view on the project page with a "Show Completed Tasks" toggle somewhere on the page.

As it currently stands, the UI feels messy, clunky, and cluttered.
